1. The crosswords are really fun! The book is lightweight and easy to lay in your lap and fill in the puzzles. The puzzles are quite large so there's enough room to fill in the letters just fine. Great layout!



2. I must not be the crossword type. Even with 2 masters degrees, I found these crosswords to be too difficult.



3. Excellent puzzles. Tough enough to challenge without incredible frustration. Great for stress reduction and keeping your mind active. Format is easy to read and the book itself is easy to use. It stays open or can be folded in half.



4. I was very disappointed with this book. I purchased a new book but the book, while new, was shopworn. The pages were starting to yellow along the edges. The book is printed on cheap paper that makes the crossword hard to read. It is impossible to erase without smearing the lead.



5. After seeing the movie Wordplay I wanted to try crosswords and have found this book to be great fun!
   
   It is to hard for me to do on my own but my wife and I am able to do it together (we are both newbies).
   
   One fun thing is that puzzles later in the book uses clues used in earlier puzzles so do them in order.
   
   One technique I use is I complete as much of a page as possible, check my answers with the back of the book, and then give it to my wife to complete.

1. I received this crossword dictionary last week & I am very disappointed in this book. It doesn't have all the words and it did not help my crossword puzzles at all. The letter are very large which helps my eyes.



2. This was for a gift for my mother. She is reaching 90 and her sight is failing but she loves to do crossword puzzles. The last dictionary she had was too small and falling apart. The new one is bigger, easier to handle and better print. She loves it. We also use it alot when playing scrabble, another of her favorite activities. When I ordered it, it came quicker than expected and in perfect shape. I have ordered from Amazon befor and will again. Thank you.



3. This large print crossword dictionary is wonderful for my 85 year old mother. I had not been able to find a satisfactory one at Borders and was grateful to be able to send her this one from Amazon.

2. When you complete one of these crosswords (without using a dictionary or cheating!) you really feel like you have accomplished something. I love it when I complete a puzzle that I didn't even start filling in until about clue #20! You can't go wrong with Will Shortz.

1. The Dell Crossword dictionary is terrific! I have used Dell for years to help with my crossword puzzles, and found them to be totally complete--moreso than most other xword dictionaries.



2. This little Crossword Dictionary by Dell is the best little book for me. I keep it in easy reach. It has helped me learn quite a few words that were unfamiliar to me and gives me a wide vocabulary in my everyday conversations with people.
   
   I thank Dell for a wonderful addition to my library.



3. Very helpful when you need help doing crossword puzzles. The proper
   names are listed by first and also last names. It is the best cross
   word Dictionary that i have used.



4. I don't think this edition is as easy to find subjects in as the original.
   It doesn't have as many difficult to find words. I'de prefer my old version of 20 yrs ago if my dog had not eaten it.



5. I received this book on time and in perfect condition. It is a fine little book as far as it goes. However, at the same time that I bought this book, I also bought THE MILLION WORD CROSSWORD DICTIONARY, which is the best, bar none, crosswored puzzle solving aid I have ever used. I tend to use all my other crossword books secondary to it.

1. A great but difficult crossword collection with no annoying things such as spelling variations or obscure words. The spiral binding makes it handy to use.

1. This book has a great variety of puzzles that are at various levels. I would say they range from about a 3-6 on a scale of 10 in terms of difficultness.



2. I do Maura Jacobson's crossword puzzle every week in New York magazine. Some of them are really clever, and most of them make me smile. I have all of her books, and am now waiting for the next one......... I have read that she is very well respected in the crossword puzzle society and lots of her clues elicit a groan of laughter when they are figured out. They are not difficult or ridiculous, like a lot of crossword puzzles are.



3. I prefer the really hard stumpers like the NY Times Sunday crosswords, so these aren't as challenging. Yet they show imagination and are still fun. Occasionally I have to look up something to get an answer. They're not easy crosswords.

1. Maura Jacobson is just simply "the best". She has never failed to live up to my expectations regarding the quality of her creativeness.
   She is challenging but within reason. I guess the word is do-able.
   I dislike crosswords that are just not do-able by a reasonably intelligent person. When it ceases to be a challenge and becomes a frustration and the solver becomes discouraged, what good is that?
   So Maura remains Number ONE on my list.



2. I am subscribed to New York Magazine for many years in the future and the Crossword Puzzles by Maura Jacobson helps to give my brain a good workout. I'm hooked on her puzzles.
