1. This book is absolutely NOT for the novice -- despite what the book itself claims or what the editorial review says. Knowledge-dump by experts is not effective in organizing info for your brain -- nor for that most important goal: helping you to acquire a perspective. This book is definitely knowledge-dump and is no way to learn the game from scratch. No matter how good is the book's inventory of content, hodge-podge ordering & lack of perspective-building aids unequivocally eliminate this book from consideration for any novice to Craps. HOWEVER, if you already know (and are comfortable with) the rules of Craps, this book is marvelous. It cuts thru all kind of hype, gimmics, systems-crap (no pun), etc. Besides misinformation the book rids you of (a very nice aspect of the book), the book supplies lots of facts and fun things like trivia and lingo. The book is not about fluff though; it is full of substance. The book's quiz-orientation and insightful explanations will get you to a real true understanding of every aspect of absolutely everything about Craps (the game, odds, edges, "systems" garbage, bankroll/money-management, and more [including some fun fluff things too -- like cute Craps lingo, and of course the fun of doing the quizes]).



2. This book is a total waste of time. If you are not a Craps player you will not understand it and if you have any playing experence at all its a waste of time. Its also questions and answers and BS!!!!

1. This book is great! However, beware that this book already assumes that you know the basics about craps. Right away it dives into odds, percentages, vigs, and strategies. If you are an experienced craps player but you want to develop and tone your method, this is the best book out there. Come Seven!

1. I took a recent trip to Vegas and decided to try my hand at gambling. My fiance' and I took a free lesson on craps at the casino we were staying at. We immediately started playing and absolutely loved it...we won too. (Beginners luck perhaps) Upon coming home I really wanted to learn more about the game so I researched many books trying to find one with the interests I had. I came across this book and found great reviews so I bought it. I read it easily in one day and it had a lot of valuable information. I have now been testing the strategy online and on WinCraps 4.7...I must say so far so good. After about 25+ simulated games I have came out ahead. The strategy works although it is not for the faint of heart or very conservative player. My fiance' is reading Patrick's Advanced Craps book and it is at the opposite end of the spectrum, for the very conservative player. I recommend Power Craps if you want to win money, you have the discipline, and have the bankroll. Good luck!

1. I learned how to play casino craps with this book and would recommend it to anyone. It is very factual and informative....Combinations and Ways table is one of the best features of the book.



2. This is a great book for knowing what is a good bet and what is not a good bet. For example, regarding the Crap Table, Scarne gives you the house percentage (P.C.)that is against you for every bet. He also gives you the odds for any type of roll or bet.

4. John Scarne is the master when it comes to all types of gambling. If you want to learn the best way of understanding what the true "odds" of the game are, read his books. He goes into detail about how people cheat at the games and what to do. His argument about different methods of play are very accurate in showing you how you will eventially lose. I have always played the game using the "true odds" and have managed to come out a winner. His presentation of using money management is very important and "MUST" be considered whenever you play. I would highly recommend this book to my friends.



5. If you want to learn about dice buy it. If you want to learn to play craps look for another book.
