  1. Don't waste your money on this book. Even as a primer on the game of craps it falls way short. Most of the information contained is in the free gaming brochures that the casinos hand out. The real rip here is that in the last chapter Allen is hustleing an expensive "system" that you have to order seperatly. Look for other books on craps that go into detail about money management and winning strategy

  2. (...) I have been playing craps for about 6 mo's and like most, knew the simple typical bets but was confused about the more "exotic" ones. This book clearly defines all the bets on the table. As far as how to play, well the book tells you the odds of each bet and what percentage of the time each number on the dice rolls. You should be able to determine the style you want to play from these numbers. There are many craps books out there that tell you how the authors' play, but are lacking in the specifics of some of the game's details if those details don't pertain to their way of playing the game. This book provides all the rules. Its short and concise. I recommend it if you want to know the specifics of each possible bet on the craps table. If you want to know how someone else plays and want to do nothing more than copy their methods of play, I would suggest a different book.

  3. I had no idea how to play casino craps until I read this book. All bets on the craps table were explained as well as the house's edge on each. Best bets to play and betting strategies were given in clear and easy to understand way. Money management also covered.

I used the methods and knowledge to win big in Vegas and on cruise ship. Now craps is all I play. I have won on two week-long gambling vacations out of two week-long gambling vacations. Planning next junket now.

  4. If you've never played before, this is the book you've got to read. It's easy, basic and makes you feel like a pro on the table. I read it, won, and lost, but that's the game. I think this book is so great that I am purchasing it for friends who "would love to play but just don't understand the game." This book makes it easy, you've got to try it.

  1. I bought this book while on a short vacation in Vegas. After reading the book for a half hour, I then went to the craps table with a simple system that gives the best odds. I won. I WON!! And guess what, craps is THE most action packed exciting game (with the best odds for the player - when played correctly) in Las Vegas. I highly recommend it!!

  2. This book does a decent job of defining and describing craps but John Gollehon is a terrible writer. I would recommend Edwin Silberstang's "Winning Casino Craps" as a much better book for a person who wants to win. After reading Silberstang's book, I won over $800. You will not get that from this book.

  3. A friend of mine told me about this book and it helps me understand, enjoy and have more success at the tables. Before, I'd blow through $100 before finishing a drink. Now I make more when I'm winning and quit before losing too much. Also, I don't make sucker bets that dealers try to talk you into. Feel more confident when walking up to a craps table- I don't expect to lose; I know I can win!

  1. This tape is easy listening and contains great information. I listen to it everytime I go to the casino to review my strategy and prepare myself mentally. Scoblete is a good speaker and he really holds your interest. Craps players will love this tape.

  2. I always hesitated getting tapes because I figured how much information can be contained in 60 minutes worth of listening? This tape is different. It gets right down to the essentials of the Captain's systems and it is a great followup to Frank's two books about the Captain which are Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos and The Captain's Craps Revolution which are both available from Amazon.com. This tape really gets into the 5-Count and why it works. It also has information on don't betting. You won't be disappointed.

  3. Listen to this before you enter the casino to play becauseit will help you tremendously. Really goes into the Captain's 5-Count in a way that makes it easy to understand. Scoblete is a great speaker.

  4. If you want a thorough explanation of the Captain's 5-Count this is the tape for you. The very best gambling tape I have ever listened to.

  5. I learned a tremednous amount of information about the five count and how to beat this crazy game. This tape was great.

  1. I could kick myself for purchasing this book. The only person who will make from reading this book is the author. I would not sell the ranch to his methods/systems. The author does not provide any documentation that this system can win in the long run. I am glad to see other readers share my opinion.

I have developed a system/method of play that has won in 30,000 decisions. I wouldn't write a book because I believe it has to pass the 100,000 decision test.

  2. A treasure trove of good ideas, profitable systems, cartoons, valuable resources, and terrific methods! Easy to read and easy to remember, plus valuable coupons at the end!

  3. I own and have read over two dozen books on craps and gambling, some good some not so much, and this one by far is the most abysmial I've seen yet. Any book promoting prop bets and their ridicilous house edge of up to 16.67% and that looks down on the pass line and come bets with odds, such as this one, is not even worthy of a role as kindling in my fireplace. Funny how the book is titled "How to Make Your Living Playing Craps" and on the very first page with the copyright information is a disclaimer that the author/pu is not responsible for losses incurred using his systems. Sounds like a real trustworthy book to me! Word of advice - spend your money on your free odds bets rather than this pile of crap.

  4. Not only is this book well written, but it contains a great bonus coupon section at the end. It also explains a lot of comps - how to get them and how to use them properly. But the best part of this book is the "Systems" section, which contains three "super" systems - the sixes and eights, Before The Pass Line and Horn Betting. I have played all three at the same time and its easier than you think, and by following the rules I have always won money. It also goes into great detail on pre-setting the dice and having the correct attitude to play in order to win more money. I don't see how anyone can play this game without getting this book!

  5. This book is full of useless information. Yes it does give you a breakdown of all of the different bets, and the layout of the table, but you can get the same information out of any other book out there. And after reading this book cover to cover I still don't have any understanding of how to make my living playing craps. It just seemed as if this guy wrote this book and had to fill a certain number of pages so he just started publishing useless quotes and filler stories. It is obvious that this book was written in the early 90's, and really needs to be updated. If you are a beginner and want to really learn a good strategy to employ then you should buy "beat the craps out of the casino."
