1 comments about 2009 Vizsla Wall Calendar.
- The photos within this calendar are better than most breed-related calendars and the dates are easy to write on with any pen or pencil. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an easy monthly calendar with beautiful photographs.

- A great book for learning how to work with Pointers. I own a Vizsla (hungarian pointer) and this book has been a gret reference during training exercises.

- This book is relatively informative, but it is somewhat short and the format is not too interesting. We returned our copy of The Complete Vizsla for The Versatile Vizsla.
- This was my first Viszla book, ordered through a magazine. I expected color pictures inside, such as the one on front, or the ones in other dog books (about other breeds) that I own. All of the pictures were black and white. The text was informative, but boring. I'll probably return it.
- This book is a must have for someone who is interested in the background of the breed but it is not an easy or fun read. More of a reference book with old, sometimes grainy photographs (there are some bizarre ones like a V-dog happily holding a dead cross fox in its mouth). The hard core V-dog lover will want this for the bookshelf but I don't take it down to look at all that often. If you are looking for a book on Vizlas that is contemporary and full of color photos and advice on how to deal with this high maintenance breed in the modern world - this is not the book for you.
- This book was extremely helpful to me when I got my first Vizsla Dog. It answered MANY questions for me on some issues I was rather confused about or just didn't know at all. This book is not really "fun" to read or look at but it has wonderful information in it

- If you love Vizslas the way I do, this calendar is a must have. The pictures really depict the personality of the breed. My only complaint is that I hang my calendar on the wall in my office and there were no holes in the calendar, or other means of hanging the calendar on the wall.

1 comments about Vizsla (Comprehensive Owner's Guide).
- I came across this book when we had our dam bred for the first time. It is a wealth of information for the new Vizsla owner that I wish we had discovered years ago.
I plan on ordering one for each of my new owners to have when they pick up their puppy. It has detailed photos and information about the anatomy of the breed, as well as lots of photos throughout. It's a great size to keep handy.
One "cute" thing...there is an area in the back inside cover for information about "My Vizsla" for those people who have lots of time on their hands! Great history of the breed as well.

- This book is a very accurate, helpful tool for anyone getting or looking at getting a vizsla. Talks about the history of the breed, personality, training and care. We give it to all our new puppy owners.
- This book was pretty good for general information. If I was going to buy just one book, however I would buy Versatile Vizsla by Marion Coffman. It is very detailed and full of good information. It does cost a little more but it is well worth it. This book is also good for general info if you dont have the money to spend on Versatile Vizsla.
- Our Vizsla is now 12 weeks old and this book has helped us emensely. He is obedient, friendly, loves his crate, does not have seperation anxiety and is almost house-broken! This book is our Vizsla bible.
- A great starter booklet for dog lovers wanting to know more about the Vizsla breed.
- There is a lot of information in this book. Some of it appears to be outdated, but what can you expect from a bargain priced book with a publish date of 1998. I was surprised to find that the book's stance on "shock" collars was "These devises are generally not required for training Vizslas if proper obedience commands are taught at an early age; however, for the unruly student or one that is slow to respond to obedience or field training, electronic devices may be useful." I can't imagine using a shock collar on a family pet for any reason. Most reputable trainers will stress the importance of positive reinforcement and not negative/punishment.
That said there is tons of info in here and for the price it is a great start for someone interested in the breed.

- Vizslas are great dogs, but they have some unique characteristics, that you need to know about before owning one. I would highly recommend this to anyone considering buying a Vizsla or a new owner. I have made notes and noted page numbers and have referred to them often.
- This book was highly recommended to me by a Vizsla dog breeder as the authority on raising and training your Vizsla. After reading the book I have to agree that this is an excellent book. It covers all aspects of the breed from birth to death. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in buying this lovely breed of dog or to anyone who is currently the owner of a Vizsla.
- The book covers all aspects of the dog breed from history to birth to the aging process. Vizsla's are a unique breed. This book will help the new dog owner and one who is new to the breed - we refer to the book often as an excellent reference guide. The book has enhanced our family's enjoyment of our dog. The chapter headings are as follows:
1. Meet the Vizsla
2. Early History of the Vizsla
3. The Vizsla Standard
4. Selecting a Vizsla Puppy
5. Your Vizsla's First Year: Care and Development
6. Your Vizsla's First Year: Behavior and Training
7. The Young Adult Vizsla
8. The Vizsla in Obedience
9. The Vizsla in the Show Ring

18. Care of the Vizsla Dam
19. The Aging Process
20. Appendices include Regional Vizsla Clubs, Sources of Information, Recommended Reading
If you are thinking about getting a Vizsla or have a puppy already, this $30 investment will pay off in multiples. Terrific book.
- Overall, very pleased with the product. The only negative about the book is it's fairly expesive...especially since the book comes with no colored pictures (bummer). However, I've found nothing better on the Vizsla breed. If you're serious about getting a Vizsla, this book is a must...lots of great information about the breed, and very detail oriented. Enjoy
- I breed Vizslas and I include a copy of this book with each pup that goes to a new home because it has great information and advice on Vizslas. It is the best book written on the breed.
