1. I had decided that by looks alone I wanted to learn more about the adorable Wheaten and searched for the comprehensive book designed with the beginner in mind. What I found was more of a guide to the lineage and breeder ranking for world class show dogs. This was not what a first time want- to- be dog owner has in mind. The word "complete" is a misrepresentation. I would not recommend this book to a novice such as myself but rather to one who travels in the dog show and breeding circles.



2. This book is a must for Wheaten owners. I have read it over and over. It is positive - in contrast to other books describing the history of the breed. It contains very valuable information on pedigrees, and it covers all the foundation dogs of the breed. I can't wait to read the new book on Wheatens by Roberta Vesley. Hopefully, it will be available soon.



3. The Complete Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
   This was the 1st book about my wheaten Ulises I could buy by Amazon, so many years ago, as I live so far away in Buenos Aires , Argentina there are no information about the breed.It helped me so much, specially how to care, health, and with his past family, from where he comes from.

4. Extremely complete. Very well written. Best book on the market. So much better than the generic dog books where one breed is just substituted with another. I have 5 books on the Wheaten terrier. I thought this book was by far the most informative and accurate.



5. I think it is important that owners of this fine breed of dog should know the history of how this breed came to be. Also they need to know how the bred should be trained, clipped, and the personality of the bred. My family imported this breed from Ireland in 1880, when my great-great-grandfather came to the USA. We still bred the dog and though our dogs are not AKC, they still have the same personalities. These dogs were not very well known twenty years ago, and there are cases where they are mistaken for other breeds still to this day. I recommend this book to any person who is even remotely thinking about this breed. If the owner does not know the history about the breed, how can they then know how their dog will act, their life expectancy, or if the dog is truly a family friendly dog? This book covers all areas of the breed, showing the breed as well as the history, and all the information an owner should know.

1. It's very nice & informative BUT most of the pictures are Black & White...All Colored pictures would've been Better! Out of the 177 pages it had Only 8 (in the middle) were colored.



2. This is a good book to read if you want to know more about how the Wheaten came to be, tracing its history and breeding from Ireland to the US. It also offers some great information on grooming and showing the breed. It's a lovely book which includes some very nice color photographs, written by a woman who definitely knows what she's talking about!



3. This is the one book that anyone interested in Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers must have. It is accurate, informative, delightful to read and a beautiful book to own.

   There are no books in Argentina about SCWT, breed, this book is so helpful to give me a hand with my close to 10 years old healthy Wheaten Ulises, who is my love, my best companion. I recomend this book.

1. Cute pictures, informative details about the breed of SCWT, and many basics that we need to know about the care for SCWT. Even Dublin, my SCWT puppy, showed that he liked it by chewing the corner of the book!

5. This book is a completely comprehensive guide to owning a Wheaten. However, the writing is silly at times and there are a few things that are really meant for show dogs rather than a simple pet. Still, it has all of the really important info that one would need if considering to purchase a wheaten.
