- Since this book is no longer published, one typically must net search to find an available copy from a publishing reseller or clearance house. Considering the limited amount of information contained within and the fact that prices vary from ... to ..., a little extra effort on the part of the reader is well worth it.
It should be noted that there are two editions of this text. The latest edition (1993; 193 Pages) reprints the earlier publication and adds approximately 130 pages of generic 'how to' information regarding sellection and care of a dog. The actual information concerning deerhounds represents approximately 50 pages. It is limited at best and can also be found upon the national club's and various breeders' websites. The book does include numerous photos however they don't add support to the written information in most cases. If specific information regarding this breed that you require, I recommend that you keep looking. If on the other hand, you want just the 'basics' along with some nice photos then its probably worth acquiring for a relatively low price.

- What a great book this is! It appears to be a kids book I didn't think I'd enjoy it. But WOW was I wrong! I'm 22, yet I could relate to all the characters and adventures and didn't want to reach the last page. The English writer can certainly weave a fast-moving and intelligent plot and there are quite a few amusing bits as well. I was going to pass Swiftly onto my cousin - but it's been borowed by my 41 year old mom and she loves it to!
- I reconed Swiftly was a neat book. It read fast and I thought Griggs and Riker were funny. The magical greathound was good to.
- Swiftly is a very exciting book and anyone who likes adventure stories will enjoy it. It's all about a greyhound with mystical powers who gets involved with the helpers at an animal shelter in Devon, England. The story runs at a very fast pace and I had trouble putting it down. It has humor as well as excitement, and the ending is a joy. Superb!
- Some books are mediocre, some books are good, and some books are great. Swiftly falls into the latter category. Terrific reading for all the family!
- Swiftly is an enchanting book. I bought it for my 14 year old daughter, but my wife and 12 year old son both thought it was great. An enchanting story, very well written by the English author, plus (for me) lots of action. For once I can say (truthfully) this is a MUST-READ book!

- Julliette Cunliffe knows little about the real history of the Deerhound dog if she believes it owes its existence to the English Greyhound - infact she must know little about the history of the greyhound if she even thinks this is an English dog.
The author needs to seriously revise her approach to dog history.
The Authors Self ingratiating images seem like an attempt to create standing of importance in the world of deerhounds when she can't even picture credit real people of importance such as Anastasia Noble and her Ardkinglas hounds in the book.
One for Julliette Cunliffe and the English Deerhound Fans only I'm affraid.
Better to locate Norah Hartley's Deerhound if you are serious about the breed.
