1. This book is a real classic and must read for all Saluki fanziers and everyone who wants to own a Saluki. Even that it does not include the newest of training methodes,(Well, ist is out of print) it does provide the base of understanding this wonderful breed. If you have not read it yet, make sure that you'll get one of the second hand versions. Lovely to read as well. Ask every Saluki breeder, they will recommend the same book, along with the Complete Saluki, which makes the Saluki book selection at home complete!

1. A must-have for the serious Saluki fancier! A coffeetable book that not only has gorgeous art, but also an in-depth information on the breed Standard, movement, selecting and raising a Saluki and much more. Starts with breed history and Salukis in the Ancient world, the Arab tradition, hunting in the desert, choosing and caring for your Saluki, the Saluki in Great Britain, coursing and racing, Salukis around the world, and the Saluki in art. Highly recommended!

I purchased this book as a first edition back in 1969 David and Charles press England,since then I reckon I have read it most months.The articles are interesting and hold ones attention to the fact that these dogs are so special.The photography is excellent,being packed out with what one wants to see-plenty of Salukis.It methodically lists all colour types and both coursing and show strain the coursing strains being obviously stronger and larger dogs.It is an obsolute must for the Saluki lover and I cant imagine any book matching its quality of words and pictures,especially the usually tacky USA publications we see on dogs,which are usually only an ego trip for the breeds owner,this book is not such a book,well it is typically English,isn`t it/-thanks Don

1. As a saluki owner/breeder for 30 plus years I found this book utterly delighful and very easily read.
   
   Yes it is a young persons book, but as a saluki person I loved the folk lore and history explained in the story.
   
   Congratulations



2. This narrative about a "saluki" bedu hound is an excellent entree into traditional desert life, and illustrations help make the story come alive. Reveals that despite Muslims' usual aversion towards pets in the house, there is provision for "working animals" like salukis to dwell with humans.

1. This book leads the reader through the history of the Saluki, and the history of showing Salukis in Amerika and Britain. The 2nd part of this classic book for fanziers introduces the reader and especially the readers new to this breed into the Saluki as a pet. By example the writer gives advise in: how to feed, how to raise and train a puppy, how to deal with minor illnesses. And as all this is tried and proven to work with her dogs, it will be valuable advise for everyone with a Saluki moving into their home. Especially nice is the quantity of black and white photos, which show famous champions. The Standart of the Saluki is written and explained in detail. A very good read!

1. I just received my copy of Authentic Arabian Horse Names and I couldn't put it down. Congratulations! It is a book that is long overdue in the Arabian horse community. I have experienced the poor naming choices that plague the Arabian horse here in the United States. Now owners and breeders will be able to name their horses properly with confidence.
   
   I was struck by the wonderful stories about life in the desert with the Arabian horse. I teared up as I read about Abou Mahmood and his beloved Rheemah. The stories give us readers a greater understanding of why the Bedouin people hold the Arabian in such a high status.



2. This book is one of my favorite Arabian books. It has so much more to it than just authentic Arabian names, it is rich with the stories that are in it too. Really gives the reader some insight into the culture of the Arabian horse. This book will remain a staple in my breeding program. I would love to see some other books by this author too.
