- I actually don't think that one must be a dog lover to enjoy this story. What a gem! Both children and adults will be moved by this special tale. Though it is a fictional work, it is interwoven with a bit of lore that rings of truth. It is this charming quality that lends it the air of a genuine, old world legend. Worthy of a spot on any shelf of beloved stories!
- I love Great Pyrenees. We had 3 but lost our 10-year during Christmas 2008. We have a puppy on her way to join our other two. This is a good book for children, very basic, cute.
- I gave this great book to friends who have just adopted a Great Pereneze (sp??) and they loved it! There are so few books written in story form about this breed.
This one told a lovely story and shared such great true information about this breed. It is a real find!!

1 comments about Drive Around Catalonia & the Spanish Pyrenees, 3rd: Your guide to great drives. Top 25 Tours. (Drive Around - Thomas Cook).
- My girlfriend and I are going to spend a bit more then a week in Catalonia and I love to drive. I had higher hopes with this book. I expected more of a list of destinations with cities inbetween where a person must stop and learn history, shop, explore, hike etc while providing the user with the most enjoyable/scenic routes.
Unfortunately, It did not live upto my expecations. On the plus side it has some nice pictures and the information is in simple format with large print. It has added to my growing understanding of Catalonia. I would say it is a decent book.

1 comments about The Way Of St James: Pyrenees- Santiago, Fisinsterre : A Cyclist's Guide.
- When you order the "cyclist's guide" Amazon sends out the "walker's guide" instead. They sent me the walker's guide twice when I ordered the cyclist's guide. The first time I received it was in my initial order and the second time was after I filed a complaint that I was sent the wrong product. They sent the same wrong book! Since I am cycling around Spain, I had no use for the walker's guide. I told them what the problem was and they said it was a system wide problem and that they don't actually have the cyclist's guide to The Way of St. James. So, if you order this book, plan on getting the walker's guide instead!

- This book is wonderful! If you are thinking about sharing your life with a walking hairball... i highly recommend it. Very informative. If you can get your hands on a copy, it's well worth the money.
- This book is only of any real value to someone who is going to show their dog,
- Although it could use some color pictures and another update. This book is very useful to understanding this ancient magnificent breed.
- I have a number of other Pyr books that people had rated well that I felt were actually lacking. This books however, is just the oposiite, and is, I feel, the best book available on the breed and the most well-written of the available books on Pyrs.
- this is a great book with everything you need to know about the history of the breed. most books are pretty general this one is more specific on the great pyr

- Good for the beginner looking to buy these breed. Great Pyrenees is a challenging breed for even an experienced owner. Good start book but talk to breeders for more information.
- I wanted a dog book that was specific to the breed of dog we have and I found it. This book is easy to read. It is divided into logical and interesting sections. We keep it out on the coffee table as a reference book, and tend to go back to it regularly for tips and ideas.

5 comments about Great Pyrenees Owners Handbook (Volume 1).
- This book is highly recommended to every potential or current owner of a Great Pyrenees.
- First of all, the author Joseph B. Gentzel, is brilliant when it comes to Pyr's. We have a signed copy of his first book and met him at the Ohio Great Pyrenees National this past May (2008). The book, being brand new, will make an excellent keepsake for many years to come. I was overwhelmed when I first met this breed (8 all came at once to receive pets), with my fiance, who was ready to take on the showring. But since March '05, when we picked up our first puppy, which was pick of the litter by a breeder in Cave Creek, AZ, I have been in love with this breed ever since. We also took home his Mama and have since purchased another show quality puppy. They are beautiful dogs to love and cherish always.
- I bought this book as the other reviews raved about the book. I was disappointed. The book focuses more on the history and geographic aspects of the breed. That's great but when the entire book centers around that theme it takes away form other topics that are important. It isn't so much of an owners handbook as it is a historical account of the breed. I have a Pyr and will be looking for another book...
- Overall the information in the book is good; however, I feel the book is extremely overpriced for a paperback.
- This is a poorly written, poorly edited book. The writing is amateurish, similar to a poorly constructed school essay. I was hoping for practical information as I am a new owner of a Great Pyrenees puppy. It focuses mostly on the history of the breed and practical owner information is a small portion of the book towards the end.

5 comments about Great Pyrenees (Complete Pet Owner's Manual).
- this was a great read, it had a few differences in what I'd read elsewhere about pyrs, but was still very informative and had good pictures, as well as an extensive section about illnesses your pyr can get.
- I bought two books when we adopted our Pyr from a rescue clinic. We knew a little about the breed traits, that were reaffirmed in this book. Great pictures and easy to read. You will be glad you got this instruction booklet.
- I love this book. After adopting 2 baby Great Pyreness puppies, this book helped me understand them in a way I would have never known. They are beautiful dogs that have lots of love for there owners, however they like to have a lot of land to roam, and have a big barking issue. This book taught why they bark so much, it is because they are WATCH dogs, and they feel the need to bark in order to protect there heard/Owners. Great book!
- If you own a Pyr or are considering one, you need this book. It provides the history, standards and what to expect when you own this breed. I love my Pyr, but it is not the pet for everyone. This book will help you decide if it is right for you. If you already own one, it is very interesting and has some nice pictures of these beautiful dogs.
- Informative and had wonderful pictures to go along with info. Would recommend for sure! Better than some out there.
