5 comments about The World of the Cocker Spaniel.
- This was a well done and beautifully photographed book. I constantly look back into this book for help and info on my own dog. I even found some of her relatives in it.
- Massively oversized hardcover, glossy pictoral covers, 624 pp; new book, never read (perhaps because no potential reader could lift it). over 1500 color and b/w photos, just about anything you'd want to know about Cocker Spaniels; over 7 1/2 pounds of book, priced to compensate for projected expensive shipping costs (really, really BIG book) This is the AMERICAN Cocker Spaniel, of course. The English Cocker is only mentioned historically. (There is a difference) Nitpicking aside, essential to Cocker breeders, including history throughout the world, breeding, genetics, selection, judging and conformation of the Cocker, obedience, pedigrees, kennel histories, and much much more.
- I recommended this Book for any and All American Cocker Spaniel Owners or breeders. It has several photographs of excellent quality cockers. Good info on Breeding, Genetics, Health and Coat Maintenance. An all around great Coffee table book for All. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
- For any cocker spaniel enthusiast, this book is the one to have and to keep for all posterity. Tons of pictures of some of the most beautiful creatures God ever blessed mankind with. This book is full of cocker history and more recent need-to-know information for everyone interested in this spectacular breed. While this book is no longer being published, you can still find a few floating around on Amazon. I promise you won't be sorry if you land one of these on your own coffee table.
- This is a great book and a must have for cocker lovers and breeders. All the ancestery behink your dogs in one place. Fantastic price as compared to other sites.

- This book has wonderful details so you feel like you`re actually in the book! Another great book by Ben Baglio! I found the 1st book at the library saying, "Ben Baglio is great with the Animal Ark series." So I tried it and loved it! And now I`m reading this new series. Though I hope on Amazon that they come out with the 3rd book. Wonderful! It`s about 3 kids saving lost pets. They started the Pet Finders Club when one kid loses her dog. In this book, somebody breaks in at a local pet store. They have to save the animals before it`s too late! Anyway, I enjoyed this book and say EVERYONE would like it.

5 comments about Cockapoo: Comprehensive Owner's Guide (Kennel Club Books Designer Dog).
- I bought this book and found it to be very informative. Great photos of cockapoos.
- I eagerly awaited the arrival of this book only to find it fell short of it's pre-publication hype. I found the information was
too generic in nature, very little depth and rather dull.
The only positive I can give it is the nice photos. Probably should have stuck with a photo book! I wouldn't recommend spending the money to buy it.
- I received this book from the breeder we eventually ended up buying our cockapoo from. We had never owned a dog before and I was really looking for a book to answer so many questions about dogs in general and more specifically the breeds we were trying to decide between. This book is a great highlight of the cockapoo breed and a good starting place. I found the internet research to be more useful for my more specific questions. I did like the section where she gives exact instructions on what to tell the groomer on how a cockapoo should look and the book is filled with great pictures.
- Does a credible job with the puppy version of Cockapoos but falls short on detailed information about the breed after the first year of puppy life. I agree with the other review, photos are nice. I'm hoping a more comprehensive book will be out on this GREAT breed of dog.
- There are not many books available that are strictly about Cockapoos. We purchased our first Cockapoo in October and she is a wonderful dog. This book was helpful in providing us with some history of cockapoos and what type of personality they have, as well as grooming needs. There are sections on finding a breeder and preparing for a puppy that were not relevant to our situation as well as chapters on breeding cockapoos. However, overall we found this book to be very informative and helpful.

4 comments about Cocker Spaniels (Complete Pet Owner's Manual).
- A fantastic book brimming over with incredibly useful information. It has priceless information in it about every aspect of raising a cocker puppy whether you are raising your puppy to be a house pet or a show dog. It even tells the exact color requirements for show dogs. As a cocker spaniel owner myself, I can tell you that I refer to this book several times a day. It's a book well worth it's price!
- It was a good book but it was too general. The book should have covered more on the different aspects of grooming, different inherited defects the cocker spaniel can have and how you can pick them at the puppy stage. I liked how it had examples of the cockers behaviour from personal experience. Overall it was a good book.
- I've owned dogs since I was young, which makes it more than a few decades. I'm used to finding these generic books, which seem to be the same book over and over, with only the pictures and name of the breed changing from title to title. This one is no such thing. I'm contemplating adopting another Cocker in about a year, and picked up this book from the local big box pet store because it was the only one they had. Started reading it seriously, and was surprised to find a good deal of specificity, a large dose of experience, and very good Cocker Spaniel history and breed knowledge. Highly recommended.
- Highly recommend this book for any cocker spaniel owner. A must have for your library.

- This book was a true insight for us into the life of a cocker spaniel, how to train them, live with them, feed them, groom them, walk them and treat them as one of the family. It was invaluable.
- This book is so much better than many of the other breed books out there that offer nothing but basic knowledge filler. I was skeptical about buying it, but figured what the heck. It's worth the money and has lots of good information in it.

- This was a fun Christmas time story, about the love of Mandy Hope and James for animals. It wasn't one of Baglio's best, but was great for the season.

2 comments about How to Train Your Cocker Spaniel (Tr-106).
- You won't be confused when you get to the training part. The book explains the stuff well, and at the same time the pictures of Cockers are cute and colorful. My friend read this, and since our friend lives in our house, we will have tips on how to train the best dog in the world, the COCKER SPANIEL!!!
- This book is wonderful. It's simple to read and I've had great success following the training techniques. Liz teaches the importance of training your cocker with a firm, but loving hand; as well as how to train your cocker to have manners and do some pretty impressive tricks! Knowing how to work with my dog, has given us a wonderful and fun relationship. I bought a few other books on Cockers, but this one by far is my favorite!

4 comments about The Cocker Spaniel Handbook (Barron's Pet Handbooks).
- Written by D. Caroline Coile, Ph.D.: The Cocker Spaniel Handbook is a well-rounded guide packed with everything the reader needs to know about raising a happy and healthy cocker spaniel. From acquiring a dog or puppy, to the many types of Cocker Spaniels, to training, grooming and feeding, requisite exercise, common medical problems and diseases, and much more, The Cocker Spaniel Handbook is a solidly accessible primer, illustrated with color photographs on virtually every page. Enthusiastically recommended especially for first-time Cocker Spaniel owners.
- I've never been disappointed with the books from amazon.com. This book was no exception and in excellent shape.
- This little book was surprisingly good. I'm a relatively new dog owner and admittedly don't know much about breeds, training, health issues, behavior issues -- this book covers it all, in easy-to-read text, with plenty of adorable photographs throughout. Unlike some of the other cocker spaniel books I looked at, which seemed to be generic dog books with "cocker spaniel" thrown in a few places ("Your [INSERT BREED] needs plenty of exercise. Your [INSERT BREED] puppy needs puppy shots."), this book is truly about cocker spaniels and I'd hazard a guess that the author, Caroline Coile, is a bit of a cocker fan herself.
The book provides interesting information on the history of the breed, its rise and decline in popularity, champion cocker spaniels, cockers featured in films and advertising. There are specific tips on housebreaking, training, nutrition, health, and very detailed instructions on grooming if you dare to take on that task yurself. There are also sections on conformation standards and showing a cocker.
This is a great book for someone thinking about a cocker puppy - it is best read BEFORE you decide to bring a new puppy home, as it explains all of the things one should think about before making a commitment to a new pup. But for those of us who are suckered in before we've done our homework, it's still full of useful information. The information on breed history and showing and breeding is interesting even if you have no intention of showing or breeding your dog. The author makes a very strong case for spaying and neutering unless you really know what you're doing as a breeder. Most important, the book is full of specific steps you can take to help make your cocker a welcome, well-behaved member of your family. And the photographs are adorable and in and of themselves teach you quite a bit about the breed.
- Bought it the day before purchasing a 7 week old cocker spaniel. Very helpful.
