- This book may not interest everyone, but it will be invaluable to anyone who is at all concerned with the proper care and well-being of their DOBERMAN PINSCHER, not just any dog in general. This book is very breed specific, and deals with maintenence and common health problems in an informative, yet understandable manner.
- This book does have useful medical information, but, it really just covers the basics. If you aren't new to Dobermans and get this, get a Doberman book with more in depth info. along with it.

- This is an Awesome book, great photos and info too. I have the German Shepherd one as well and was looking all over for the Doberman one, I never knew they made one till I found it on here. I hadn't seen it in Pet Co or book stores, I am VERY glad I decided to buy this wonderful book. :o)
- It's hard to find books on this wonderful breed. This book has lots of good information for people who are considering buying a Doberman Pinscher I highly recomend reading this first.

- This is an AWESOME book, very informative. All the "Kennel Club" Series books are I have several of them, However mine came with writing in the very back of the book
- BOUGHT THIS FOR MY BROTHER. THEY LOVE THIS DOG! FROM THE KENNEL CLUB SO YOU KNOW THEY KNOW ALL ABOUT THIS.LOTS OFF PICS AND GOOD FOR TABLE BOOK.
- This AKC based book is typical of AKC. They don't agree with white dobermans but yet in one of the pictures it sure looks like a white doberman. Not to mention it seems like they just cut and pasted the breed name. Like when they talk about a dobermans nails shouldn't clip on the ground when walking. If so they need to be trimmed. Well if any of you know anything about dobermans I surely hope the nails never even get close to "clicking" on the floor because of the way dobermans nails grow. They come higher out on the toe than many other breeds. Enough about that but it seems like they gave either false or generic information about the breed. Don't get me wrong I do agree with some things AKC preaches about. But the book overall was a disappointment.

- Excellent book that gives a mostly objective overview of an amazing breed. Not the right book if your looking for a detailed training guide but can be helpful for someone researching their next pet.
- Excellent content but the photos are not the best. Most photos are in black and white. The information though is top notch. Would recommend this book highly for all!!!!!
- As a dog trainer, behaviorist and Dobe owner (2 Dobes) I always recommend this book to pet parents interested in the breed or people who are already in love with the breed. It is to the point, offers appropriate, beware of what you wish for, warnings about owning this breed. The book also offers information from nutrition to exercise specific to the Doberman and is written by long time Dobe owners and breeders. I have purchased the book for clients as it makes a great gift.
- This would be a great reference if you were to have to do a report on the breed. It is very in depth and informative. It was a little too dry for just casual reading. All and all, a great book.
- The authors give a very clear and colorful depiction of Mr. Dobermann and his first tries at this breed. Reading of the breed throughout the years explains why the German Dobermann & the American Doberman are so different in temperament. Please, anyone wanting a doberman, or any other breed at that, please read up on the type of dog you have in mind. This is a great book for Doberman owners and potential owners.

- This book is great for people new to the Doberman. It gives an overview of the breed's history, temperment, care and training requirements. It touches on the different activities you can participate in with your Doberman and lists addresses to contact for more info. The health care chapter briefly explains all the major diseases and parasites that you must have your dog vaccinated against. For more indepth training methods for the novice, however, it is best to consult a specific manual on the subject. Overall the book is one of the better I have read on any breed!
- I was surprised to search Doberman Pinscher on Amazon.com and find out Faye had written a book! Faye knows Doberman Pinschers quite well and was co-breeder of one of my males, Sherlucks Pan Am Machu Picchu. I was skeptical but decided to purchase the book. Faye is an excellent author and really gets into grooming and health plus training, what to expect from your Doberman and about every aspect of canine ownership. Having several books already on Dobermans I was pleasantly surprised by Ms. Strauss's book. It reads well and is well written. I'd recommend it to both new and experienced Doberman owners. It's never too late to teach an old dog, or owner for that manner, a new trick or two! I am now going to buy a second book for a friend as well.
- Being a Doberman enthousiast, I read every dobe book that I can get my hands on. The author is a well known and successful breeder and judge, but I was dissapointed that this book was not filled with more personal insight into the breed. If you know absolutely nothing about how to raise a dog, this would be a good book. I did enjoy some of the pictures, however.
- If I could, I would give this book a 3.5. The book is well written, and if you are new to Dobermans, it is a very nice book to add to you collection. Though to anyone experienced, it does not add any personal insight, and nothing extremely new or exciting. Overall it reads nicely, and has a nice sound to it. I was pleasantly surprised, as this is one of the few good Doberman books I have come across. For anyone who is interested or new to the breed, this is definetly a good choice.
- Very good information and a must read for potential owners and new owners of Doberman Pinschers.

- If you have or are planning on getting a Doberman puppy, this book should be required reading. It does not go too into depth on the subject of raising a Doberman as it is a subject that requires thousands of pages, but it does give you a great "first look" at raising a Doberman. If you have researched Dobermans excessively, this is not the book for you as it will not tell you anything new, but if you need a good introduction to caring for this noble breed it is a great read.
- I promptly received the book in the mail. Perfect condition. I am so glad I found Amazon.com to order books. I am always looking for older books and hate to order from a book store. This was a great find.
- Nice book with lots of information for beginner thru expert and lots of color photos too. Enjoyed this book much more than some more expensive Doberman books I have purchased. Highly recomemded.
- This manual is very informative and helpful in understanding our Doberman. Get it as soon as you get your Doberman.
- Unfortunately, I never received this book and therefore cannot provide a review. My rating is on the service not the book.I did receive the other items in the order. This is the first time my order has not been completed. This book was listed as used and therefore was coming from an external source.

5 comments about How to Train Your Doberman Pinscher (Tr-107).
- This is a very good book. It really surprised me. All the methods sound very good, and will hopefully work. (iam getting a doberman in 2 weeks). I suggest you peoplr give this book a try.
- This was the perfect book. There were lots of photos and extra tid-bits throughout, plus all of the information I needed for choosing and training my Dobe puppy. It was very thorough, but easy to read.
- I will be purchasing a doberman in the near future so I purchased this book because it looked to have specific training guidelines for the doberman breed. I was disappointed because all of the tips and techniques were of the general variety and didn't address the tempermental or behavioral aspects of the doberman (it refers you to the breed clubs). It is published nicely in high gloss with great photos. As far as content, I read it in one hour and probably won't go back to it. I gave it 3 stars because it was under $10.
- This book covers all of the significant information a new Doberman purchaser might need to know. It is focussed towards the new pet owner that has only limited knowledge and experience in raising and training a new Doberman. I read a number of Doberman and training books before I bought my dog and this is the one I keep coming back to time and time again, particularly during the dogs first year. It is quite concise and so it is also the one I give to other family members who only want the key information in an easy to read form.
- The title of this book led me to believe it was about specifically training the Doberman...I was highly disappointed to find it covered more about general info of dogs and of the breed that I've already purchased and read in other books. In purchasing this book, I wouldn't have thought the 94 pages would include how to purchase a dog - rather that you already own a Doberman and wanted specific info on the behaviors and training hints specifically for this very smart breed.

5 comments about Orchid Blues (Holly Barker).
- What a terrible story, was unable to finish it, Stuart Woods was at one time a very good author, but when he started with Holly and Stone, he in effect quit writing, this is about a militant band of right wingers robbing banks and oh by the way just had to kill Holly's intended just an hour before the wedding which didn't seem to break Holly up all that much as she still has her best friend, her dog and her father which she has conversations with regarding three somes and their sex lives in general, Signet books and Stuart Woods should both be ashamed of themselves for putting this on the market.
- I was so excited after reading "Orchid Beach" to read part two of the Holly Barker Novels "Orchid Blues". The first 10 chapters were good and kept me interested, however, after that this book just dragged on and on and on. I mean I thought the novels were about Holly Barker not her father Ham. This book focused more on Ham and him investigating a group of individuals than it did on Holly and her investigative skills. I hope this book doesn't deter me from reading other Holly Barker novels. There were some pretty good points in the book though, some parts I actually really enjoyed, esepcially how Mr. Woods tied in Stone Barrington to this particular story. I loved that! Other than that I felt like this book was a really long read for me and I'd actually have to say it bored me most of the time. I have the next book Blood Orchid, I do hope its a much better book than this one. I'll give the series another chance.
- Light reading, rather boring, poor character development, defintiely not in line with his other writing.
- Grabs your attention from page one!! Concise writing, good flow of events. Believable - well, most of it but it is fiction, after all!! I feel you can't go wrong with Stuart Woods for an enjoyable read.
- Made a big mistake with this one I tried to take it seriously. Explosive start and a really bang-up ending, but in between I thought I'd fall asleep. As per the last Holly story, little character development, inflated and over-the-top plot. What are the chances that a small town police chief would be involved in TWO world conspiracies within a year, or ever? Woods also still is bad at writing women. I'll give him one more chance in book 3, but if that one isn't any better, I'm done. Daisy is still the best character in the book.
