2 comments about Snapshot.
- Snapshot is a thrilling novel about Tom Connor, an ordinary college student whose chance encounter with a beautiful girl immerses him in a diabolical plot concerning a newly created weapon, hidden in a most innocuous shell, that unleashes its murderous fury with gory results. Tom discovers the plot to use this weapon to attack his country and affect the global balance of power; cut off from allies, he struggles alone against both the good guys and the bad guys as killers hound him and would-be world dominators plot from the shadows. A hair-raising read, pure excitement from first page to last.
- This book would make a great film, if not some uncomfortable parallels with major Hollywood efforts. There is a great scene involving an out-of-control bus (a la "Speed"), and a subplot involving a missing girl that authorities don't believe exists (a la "Flightplan"). Still, the bus scene is among the best action scenes I've read in a thriller, if a little long--it goes on for several chapters, if I recall--but it's undeniably gripping.
This is one of those thrillers where things have to go EXACTLY a certain way for the story to unfold, including things that the villain couldn't possibly predict or anticipate; elements that the hero either conveniently knows or forgets, depending the circumstances; an implausibly slow Secret Service; and, as in all thrillers, the villain walks away without checking if the hero is dead. But... OK. This is a thriller, after all, and certain conventions are inevitable. (And why is it that people never hang up the phone in thrillers but just let the receiver drop? Small point, but that's always bugged me.)
Despite that, it's a clever page-turner of above-average intelligence with exceptional pacing and some great action scenes. I can easily recommend this as a fun ride for the genre, and it's a shame that it probably won't reach a wider audience. Here's to hoping I'm wrong on that point.

- You find yourself feeling emotions that help you connect with the characters. You feel for the lose of a loved one as well as despair of everyone's fears within a family. The unexpected happens when a good cop turns bad. When you think you have the mystery figured out you find that you are blindsided by the ending.
- This book kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time!!!!!
Just when you think you have it figured out....there is an interesting twist that really keeps you riveted to this novel!!!!!!!
I strongly reccomend you check it out...
