  1. Quick enjoyable reading. Amazing how our memories are connected to our sense of smell and taste. One whiff or taste and the flood gates open to another place and time. This book brings back many of my personal memories of times enjoyed with family and friends and the delicious food we have shared.


  2. makes you smile and laugh, and even sometimes cry. It is one of those books that I could pick up from time to time, and travel back to those simpler and often sweet times of my childhood and feel as though I went on a mini-spa vacation.

    The stories about heart connections made and celebrated with food are very appealing and the recipes are an added bonus. I give it five stars.

    I bought several so that I would just have them on hand to give as gifts.



  3. Through the years, women have shared their favorite receipes. Not only does the author share her delicious recipes, but her family stories as well -- her own legacy created in a special way. The book makes a unique hostess gift, birthday, etc.


  4. I found this book and its wonderful stories to be very nostalgic. I could just picture her home and children as she wrote of her wonderful memories. I loved the recipes also. Each item I have tried has been delicious. I highly recommend this book.


  5. Pork Chops and Applesauce takes you on a wonderful journey. The stories behind the recipes make it that much more heart-felt.
    With this book I laughed, cried and reminisced about my own childhood. When I reached the last page of the final chapter, I was not ready for the journey to end.
    It is not to often you enjoy reading a cookbook cover to cover.I could not wait to get into the kitchen and try some of her recipes.
    This book is a must read!
