  1. Usually I preview/peruse cookbooks in the store before I buy them; this book was an exception, and a prime example of why I should NOT buy before I preview. Apparently the 'professional' reviewers I trusted thought a 'few' typos no big deal, and not worth mentioning. Take a look at pgs. 22, 27, 57, 135, 169, 172, and 203. Experienced cooks/chefs will manage, but no one else. Simply too many editorial blunders for the money; the editor/authors should mail out gratis corrected copies. I expected a much better product.


  2. Great cookbook. The chef profiles let the reader feel as if they have that chef is giving them a private lesson in their own kitchen. Also, reading the histories of the wineries brings the reader a greater appreciation for the wines.
