  1. Mary Koock's The Texas Cookbook: From Barbecue To Banquet - An Informal View Of Dining And Entertaining The Texas Way is a wonderful collection of recipes and anecdotal stories the showcase the diversity of Texas cuisine ranging from down-home cooking to high-class affairs, and from regional favorites to ethnic specialities. From Mom's Potato Cake; Lime Light Pie; Watermelon Cake; and Sam's Charcoaled Fish; to Mae Shepherd's Curry Chicken Salad; Bernice Rosalind's Lemon Bisque; Honey Walnut Bread, and Jean Kritser's Pickled Okra, The Texas Cookbook is a superbly presented, highly recommended compendium of fine eating and background stories.

  1. This Grill Book is a little soft. I just could not get that excited over the approach it had. I have a Holland Grill and it is difficult to find books that go with the Holland.

  2. I got this gift for my roommates. They grill very often, and they thought it was a great addition to their grilling goods! I would recommend this product for anyone who wants to spice up their grilling and especially for anyone who wants to start grilling the right way.

  1. This cookbook comes in an easy format to read format and lies flat on a counter. I have grilled for years, yet I learned things about grilling in general that were extremely helpful. In addition, all the recipes were categorized for easy reading and the recipes were not complicated nor confusing. In fact, I am most impressed with the simplicity, as well as the mouth-watering choices for backyard barbeques.

  2. Ordered this in honor of my first grill. Taught me the basics in simple and delicious fashion. Most helpful are the charts on the inside covers.

  3. I bought this book for someone who told me they would like to cook on the grill more, but doesn't know much about cooking times or any recipes for grilling, so I went to amazon and browsed through grilling books and chose the Better Homes and Gardens Gas Grill Cookbook after being able to look at some of the pages on the site (which is a great way to choose a book -it's almost like being in the book store). I was very pleased with this book - I not only found it to be a perfect gift for a beginner, but I liked the book for myself and I have been grilling for many years. Another plus is the recipes can be used in any type of cooking, so I would recommend this book to anyone who owns a grill or anyone who is looking for new ideas for meals.

  4. I bought this for my son who uses his gas grill all the time. It's been a good purchase since he's learned some ways to improve his skills.

  5. I didn't find this book very useful at all. The recipes are very ordinary and not all that appetising. I wouldn't bother buying it. I would rather have a grill book written by Bobby Flay.
