5 comments about HP 2133-KX868AT 8.9-inch Mini-Note PC (C7-M 1.2 GHz Processor, 1024 MB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, Vista Home).
- A wonderful product. Small, Compact, it fits in a small Lunchbox. Excellent Resolution for Photoshop. May not be good for far sighted people.
- This is a great product but you are pretty much forced into choosing vista (which is horrible) as an operating system. If you were to be able to choose XP you would have a much faster operating system. With only a 1 gb processor the vista really slows it down. Its a shame that Microsoft pushes this product on you.
- After reading several reviews of different minis I decided on the HP 2133. Fast service and deliver via Amazon (as usual) and I had it with a few days. I do not find that the 2133 runs as hot as a lot of people have said in the past, no hotter than any other laptop I've owned. The built in wireless is great, picks up the weakest signal and runs with it. The 120 GB HD is more than ample for my needs. RUnning Linux instead of Windows Anything is the way to go for sure. Boots fast, hasn't locked up and multi-tasks lots it's on steroids.
More than worth the money. Buy one now.
- i am sorry about my english i am Mexican, i buy hp mini note from amazon.com in the past i have a problem with hp product with a ipaq windows mobile i promise to my self that not buy any HP product again. but i buy this item and return in only 5 days. It becuame extremly hot cant used, the battery was not working it past 45 minutes to only charge one 1 % from 14% to 15% 45 minutes? i leave 24 hours charing and only go to 30 % i recieved a SHOCK when i conected to the light with the adapter, contact hp with chat online and they recomeend me to return the product.
i buy ACER ONE windows xp i am realy happy with the new portable :) if you trust in a Mexican opinion dont buy this item...
- I think that this laptop is a good answer to my expectations for having a ultramobil PC.The aluminium case, the sound and the weight are very good. However as linux user, i must to say that the O.S. choosed, Suse Enterprise, it's too much poor (it is very rare for HP tradition). The equipment crashed often and linux shell is very limited... I made the upgrade to Opensuse 11 KDE and the improvement was amazing, but driver search was not easy, so my advice is: purchase with linux, only if you have enough time and knowledge to fix all software issues.

1 comments about Sony VAIO VGN-NR498E/S 15.4-inch Laptop (2.0 GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core T5750 Processor, 3 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium).
- I read previous reviews before buying this laptop and had questions about getting it. I went ahead and bought it because my previous computer was a SONY VAIO and I really enjoyed it. Some of the previous reviews said that there was to much "stuff" on the computer and it took to long to start up. I called SONY and they helped me over the phone to delete the programs. It took only about 10 minutes. I have also had several questions in which I have had to call SONY. Everytime I call, I get a person right away that is able to help me. They have gone over and beyond to help me with anything I have needed. Great product and customer service!

1 comments about MSI Wind 10" Mini Laptop (1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) White.
- I purchased this (in white, though) for $499. And yes, I am talking about the one with the 6 CELL battery.
I don't have a clue why it's listed here - and a few other places - for $50 more. It's wrong. MSI has not "officially" increased its MSRP on this mini, but retailers are taking that rumor and running with it. So, what's the result of retailers running with a *rumor*? Everyone begins to think "Oh, look at all the sites selling the MSI at a higher cost, welp, MSI must've increased the price, shucks." It's so wrong. They did *not*.
I live in Nashville and we have/had local retailers with this on pre-order. This is how I got mine... nothing like a local geek stores :) Anyway, the review...
The best improvement on this model, other than the obvious longer battery life is the WiFi. On my last one, the connection would drop, hang and just quit for "no reason" - it took a long time to figure out it came right out of the box in need of driver updates for the WiFi (easily fixed). THIS one doesn't have any WiFi issues at all, no need for driver updates, yet anyway.
The battery life on this one is only about 1 hour more, but that's with me on it constant, non-stop, running programs. It *did* get a little warm, enough to worry me only the slightest. I'd like if they had a mini slant pad for this.. for those who are going to wear the battery down to nill. Maybe there already is one (?)
I don't really see any difference between this one and the previous version, other than the other requires a couple driver updates before you can really roll (well) and the slightly longer battery life. If you're *not* going to run this thing longer than a couple hrs at a time or commute with it, the smaller cell is just fine (imo).
As for looks, the cover *does* show fingerprints. That's a small nag, I know, but it bugs me. This is why I didn't care what color I got this time because I knew I would get a skin for it - to fend off the "fingerprint look."
There's so many other reviews on this product, I don't want to get long winded; mainly just wanted to point out the discrepancy on the list price.

5 comments about Sony VAIO VGN-CR407E/P 14.1-inch Laptop (1.73 GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core T2370 Processor, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, DVD Drive, Vista Premium) Pink.
- I own a Vaio and so does my girlfriend. Unbelievably, her charger does not work on my Vaio, and vice versa. Further, the Vaio does not accept SD cards so you have to carry a converter, plus, most ridiculously, my Sony video camera's memory stick does not fit Sony's memoery stick. Sony has produced different memory sticks for its video cameras, compatible maybe with who knows what, another converter to buy and carry. Meanwhile, no matter whether I turn off the wireless, the Sony feels compelled to keep warning me that my wireless is not connected. I'm through with Sony forever.
- I am very disappointed with Sony VAIO. My first Sony VAIO's power connector broke after two years. Now this new one I bought three month ago, the charger stopped working. This is very annoying because all my files are in the computer. It is amazing the quality of Sony is becoming so poor, and I am not going to buy another Sony for sure.
- My dad, mom and sister own vaio's (that I use everyday) and i'm next, I love the compatibility sony has through it's electronics with there sony pro duo memory cards, there customer service is great, my dad has had many questions that were answerd fast and he has been happy with them. What I have found is people sometimes blame computer makers for problems with windows ect.. I know alot about computers and windows, sony makes quality computers with fantastic looking designs. tech support is also a must have with a computer purchase and sony makes it easy.
- Perfect product!fast shipping!
But I found BestBuy offer a upgrade hardware of same product with same price. -_-
- I purchased this laptop to work from home with. At first I was over charged $150.00 by Amazon. I got that settled. When I received the laptop, the CD/DVD door was jammed closed and I was unable to open it. I called right away and was sent a replacement and told NOT to send the defective one back until i received tne replacement one- I liked that, since you never know what can happen in the mail. The second laptop arrived quickly and appears to work fine.
Over all the laptop is nice, but the transaction with Amazon was a little sour.
