  1. Having gone through several notebook computers, HP has by-far the worst customer service ever. Before 1 year is up, the internal wireless component fails to work. I send it for repair and it takes them 2 months to fix it and thus my warranty expires. What I realize when I get my computer back is the fact that they did not re-assemble the computer properly and hence, my monitor does not work. I call HP and they tell me that the warranty expired and they can't do anything about it. I explain my situation that they had my computer for 2 months during my warranty and also that my computer is mal-functioning because of their error. The people at the other end of the customer service tell me that they have elevated it to the higher manager in-charge and the manager will call me. I don't get a call back so I call HP again being patient and explaining the whole situation again. They tell me their sorry and once again it will be taken care of and someone will call me later. Once again, I get no call. So I call them again. Once again, I explain my situation all over again. And without fail, they fail to call me again and get my computer fixed. I call again and they tell me that they once again will call me. (Are you keeping count, this is the 4th time I am calling them.) I am right now looking at getting another computer now having wasted a lot of time and money on this issue. By far this is the worst experience ever. If you are using a HP, I wish you the best that it does not breakdown. If you do, you're facing the worst customer service ever.

  2. Along with the other review, I too have had a similar experience with the now infamous disappearing wireless capabilities this product is advertised to have. Along with the same experience with HP's customer support, I can never recommend an HP computer to anyone. The known HUNDREDS of consumers with this issue have been sold lemons, so stay away from the DV6000 and DV9000 series. Do a google search for "DV6000 wireless issue"

    -Nate

  3. I have the same problems as other reviewers. Stay away from this computer. Worst purchase I have ever made. There should be a class action suit brought against HP for this computer. Non-existant technical help. They will, however, sell you help....that will probably not fix your problems. I am still under warranty but that means nothing.

5 comments about Toshiba Satellite A215-S5815 15.4-inch Laptop (AMD Turion 64 X 2 Dual Core TL-60 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 200 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium).
  1. I bought this about 3 months ago for $550. At first I thought I had found a great deal but found out a few problems with time. First of all the cd-rom wont read the dvds I put in it. I know its not the dvds fault because my old dell laptop reads them just fine. Secondly, the battery life is much worse than expected. One of the reasons I got a new laptop was because my old one's battery life had become so poor over the years. This Toshiba is brand new and it barely gets over an hour of battery life. If you're like me than you don't really ever use the cd-rom nowadays anyway and most of the time I'm near an outlet so I still gave it three stars because those really are the only problems. However I would not recommend buying it at the currently inflated price.

  2. Excelente rendimiento, excelente precio y estéticamente muy bonita, por mucho fue una excelente decision de compra.

  3. The laptop is really nice. It has 64-bit AMD processors, which I feel work faster that Intel chips (from my own experience). It would be near perfect if not for the awful Vista OS. Vista is simply awful for me to use until I performed numerous tweaks that turned off most of its so-called improvements. Once I disabled most of Vista's "improvements" the laptop's speed really screamed upwards dramatically. A new Vista user should google the web for Vista speed tweaks--I found 10 on one site and more on others. Since I use my own firewall, a secure proxy, several spyware catchers, etc., I don't use Windows defender or any of the other new garbage that Microsoft put in Vista. The laptop would be absolutely wonderful had it come with XP (a far superior OS to Vista IMHO).

  4. The computer should be fast, but compared to a old laptop with a pentium 3 running XP it is a dog. The pentium 3 run circles around it and the Toshiba has not had any applications installed and is right out of the box.
Never buy any product with Microsoft Vista.

  5. If you're reading this review right now, then chances are you want to make sure you are making the right choice.
Let me assure you, if you're planning on purchasing a Toshiba laptop, you are not.

Please, google "toshiba laptop complaints" and get the REAL reviews.
    As for my input...
this is a conversation that took place in an authorized toshiba shipping store:
me: "Man, let me tell you something... NEVER buy a Toshiba laptop."
clerk: "With the ammount of them that we ship back every month, I never would."

..just in case you were wondering how many laptops this authorized postal service receives from customer and ships out for repair every month - "..about 30" is the answer that I got

    Good luck.

3 comments about Toshiba Satellite P205-S6237 17" Notebook PC (Intel Pentium D Processor T2080, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, SuperMulti DVD Hard Drive, Vista Premium).
  1. I bought this laptop about 2 months ago. The screen is beautiful and big. The keyboard is nice as well. The only complaint I have is where the USB ports are on the side - I wish they were further back. But all in all I'm very pleased with it.

  2. I bought my P205-S6237 in August of 2008 and while I like the computer a lot is does have its faults. First it is a bit slower than many of its competitors and there seem to be some internal conflicts with the Vista operating system and some anti-virus protection programs. I've also had problems with the Labelflash drive and that had to be replaced under warrenty as it stopped reading and writing DVD's even though it continued to work in CD mode. Other than that the machine is great. The screen images are wonderful, I love the key board which has a full keyboard with numeric key pad. There are other features and diagnostics added by TOSHIBA that make this computer a breeze to maintain compared to many other manufactures. Would I buy another one?? You bet, at the price vers function end it's a real winner in my book.

  3. I purchased the Toshiba P-205-S6237 approx 8 months ago. This computer has been nothing but a nightmare (We had another Toshiba laptop which is also a piece of junk) Not sure why I bought another. I will be taking it back in for its 4th DVD/CD drive next week. Nopnem of them have worked long enough to download any software. Now what good is a computer if you can't load software? If you read other reviews you will see this is a chronic problem with Toshiba computers. This machine has spent more time in the repair shop then on my desk! Toshiba Customer Service is the worst I have ever encountered. On my first call I was on hold for 67 minutes, then disconnected. Called again to be on hold for almost 1 hour then transferred to a technician for another 10 minutes. They tried to talk me into running a recovery disk, which I refused to do. They insisted it wouldn't remove everything from my computer, which it would. Their technicians are not well educated and try whatever to get you off the phone. Every employee I spoke with, which was nearly a dozen, had very bad attitudes. After all this I asked for an address to which I could send a chronology of my issues with this computer. I sent the letter and never received any type of response. So to me this means, they just do not care once the item is sold! I have only one thing to say NEVER BUY TOSHIBA

3 comments about Sony VAIO VGN-NR260E/T 15.4-inch Laptop (Intel Pentium Dual Core T2330 Processor, 2 GB RAM, 200 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium) Brown.
  1. I HAD THOUGHT A LONG TIME ABOUT GETTING A LAPTOP COMPUTER AND I LOOKED AT MANY BRANDS AND TYPES. IT FINALLY CAME DOWN TO EITHER A SONY VAIO OR A HP. IT FINALLY CAME DOWN TO THE SONY VAIO AND I HAVE NOT REGRETTED MY DECISION. I AM NOT A PERSON WHO HAS TO USE A COMPUTER IN WORK, BUT I DID WANT ONE TO SUPPORT MAINLY PHOTOS. THIS ONE SEEMED TO BE ALL I NEEDED FOR WHAT WAS REQUIRED. FOR THE PRICE I FEEL LIKE IT IS A GREAT CHOICE. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO WANTS BASICS WITH A LITTLE EXTRA.

  2. This laptop came with a good HD and RAM but the pre-installed Vista caused you lots of trouble because compatibility issues with other software. I had twice "blue screen of death", once in March and second time last week. Luckily for me the Sony Online Assistance help you to chat with the technicians there and help you solve it yourself. Good thing about Sony is they have this hidden drive where you can restore everything when you have issues. Unfortunately you have this Vista crap pre-installed. I tried to contact Microsoft to downgrade my Vista to XP but they were not helping at all. The link they gave you was totally not helpful because you kind of lost and nowhere to start with. I like Sony services but the second time when my hard disk crash again, the Sony technician was telling me it might be caused by hardware. Since I bought this on January, I am still under warranty. But, unfortunately, I had received a statement which said the hardware warranty is not available at this time and I should go to the nearest Sony authorized technician to get it fix. Then, I guess the whole thing now don't sound too good at all when it came to hardware issues.

  3. Well this one has a processor that is not good enough for handle Windows VISTA. So just a advice,if you are going for Vista make sure u go for Core 2 Duo with high performance.

But other than that this looks cool.Specialy being a SONY VAIO.The rough finish to the outside makes it look unique and trendy
