5 comments about LaCie 301825U d2 Quadra 500 GB eSATA/FireWire800/FireWire400/USB 2.0 External Hard Disk.
- I use this product on an iMac running Leopard, using Time Machine to back up all of our family photos, documents, videos and music. It is incredibly easy to set up and runs without any difficulty. My best compliment is that you don't notice it until you need to restore something, then you're glad it's there. It's extremely quiet and survives black-outs and young children.
- I have no complaints so far. Leave it plugged in 24/7 not too much heat. Makes no noise at all. Worth the extra money to buy something you know that will work.
- Very Good and sturdy product. The only -ve is that you can not have FAT/NT partition bigger than 30 GB !!!!
LaCie 301825U d2 Quadra 500 GB eSATA/FireWire800/FireWire400/ USB 2.0 External Hard Disk
- Overall, this is a really nice drive. Its fairly quiet, responsive and a good value. The only problem I have is that after loading it up with music and videos, it seems to have periods where it would struggle with playback, skipping and lagging during both music and video playback over the eSATA connection. However, I ran a quick defrag on the drive and that seems to have fixed the problem. Other than that, its been good to me. You can't go wrong with Lacie!
- The Hard Disk arrived when promised. Easy to install. This is my fourth LaCie HD purchased over several years. All are performing satisfactorily which is more than I can say for another well known heavily advertised brand which died after a year in service.

5 comments about Logitech S220 2.1 Speaker System.
- Great sound, amazing price. The extra wire for the controls is a little awkward, but they sound amazingly good.
- worth every dollar. for its small price it packs a lot of sound if you're just using this for your computer to listen to music casually or to watch movies.
- If you are looking for quality speakers you don't have to spend a lot of money. The Logitech S220 have great sound (just excellent for almost every type of music and movies) and they are very cheap!! Let face it, at least that you are an audiophile, you cant tell the difference between this great speakers and others most expensive like Bosse....
Sorry my english :D
- Speakers work well for basic sound--voice and system sounds, mainly; however, I tried a classical CD, chorus and orchestra, and the speakers couldn't handle the range. Static-like interference, and the sound was broken up, couldn't listen. Volume is limited, too. My old, larger, Logitech speakers broke, and I was so used to their great quality that this poor music reproduction was a shock. I'm glad to have them, though--they're better than no sound, and for the price, less than $25., they are probably as good as one ought to expect.
- I am amazed at the sound from these inexpensive speakers. Your not gonna find a better deal than this. The only issue I have is I dont like the seperate volume control.

5 comments about Philco TB100HH9 Digital to Analog TV Converter Box.
- This CECB (but not CE Amazon when I ordered) was a snap to hook up (even with a VCR in the mix). One local TV station already "digital" so I was able to see if the box worked, and it did. Non-digital channels came thru just fine. Wasn't really interested in digital channels being broadcast, so I just turned the converter box off and everything operated as if it wasn't there (great). As with any new product that "comes with a remote," I had to learn to use the new remote which was no big deal. Do wish, tho, that the manufacturer had seen fit to put ventilation louvers somewhere on the box. Signed ECBU.
- I purchased this unit (not from amazon). 1st the box is supposed to have "analog bypass" according to the CECB list on dtv2009.gov. It is not. As soon as the outdoor antenna was connected to the RF antenna-in jack, it made the channels on my tv (bypass mode) very snowy. The outdoor antenna coax was previously hooked up to TV, VHS, and satellite receiver w/o incident, prob not the antenna! 2nd it would only pickup 2 digital channels whereas an RCA converter would pickup 4 channels plus 2 subchannels. I contacted the manufacturer (funai-corp) and was advised this unit is not bypass capable and is not represented as such in the manual, which I desperately reviewed hoping to find that it was, sadly it isn't. Cus svc at funai-corp is useless! Only the admin dept can authorize factory warranty return, but you cannot talk to them directly! Cussvc will take your name and number and forward it to admin who will (supposedly) return your call. 5 messages and 2 weeks later no response! Do NOT buy the TB100HH9!! I questioned the fact it only rec'd 2 channels, and was advised I needed a digital antenna (bull)! When asked why the RCA box picks up more channels, was told it is recommended I use a digital antenna! If you live w/in 10/15 miles from the transmitter, this box MAY work ok, but is not analog bypass capable! I was told as long as it picked up 2 channels, it was working ok, AVOID!!
- The fellow who rated this CECB as bad for analog pass through did NOT read the MANUAL!! You must simply turn on the analog pass through with SETUP. Most say that the picture is actually better than the original signal when pass through is turned on! But slightly less when the unit is turned off. Ergo...don't buy this box if you are a dimwit.
- For $9.00 after the government rebate (I bought locally not on Amazon), this converter was a good choice for me. In setting it up, however, I got into an enthusiastic hurry and totally neglected to read the manual expecting a Converter Box to work like a DSL box...., i.e., attach the antennae and TV to the converter, plug TV and converter in and its done. NOT SO with the Digital to Analog Converter box. As per other reviewers, the manual instructions need to be followed. After attaching antennae to box to TV, I followed the instructions to scan in the digital channels but none were available, yet, as per the "no signal" message after fully scanning. Then, turning to manual pages 27 through 29, I learned how to "pass through" to analog channels, an additional few easy steps. Finally, with a bit of rabbit ear adjustment for each channel which is usual to pick-up signals in my area, I was done and the stations are coming in clearer with the converter box than with the antennae alone... NO SNOW. SNOW meant I had NOT quite gotten to the "pass through" instructions or had not taken extra time to hand adjust the antennae after "pass through" was complete... I also found (and haven't quite figured this one out) that I might need to "pass through" for an individual channel if the set-up worked for some but not all the analog channels. Follow the manual, take your time, and the Philco works fine (so far!).
- Picked up two of these yesterday and I'm very happy with them.
They have one great feature in particular - through the menu you can access a signal strength meter. With the meter on, you can adjust your antenna for the best reception and it tells you the strength as you make adjustments. It takes the guess work out of it!
I have a dvd player with a built in converter on one of our tvs. I temporarily plugged in one of these boxes just to find the best antenna position and now we get several more channels.
The only thing I don't like is the remote. But I plan on programming a universal remote to work the box so I never have to look at their ugly one again.

5 comments about Sony MSMT4G 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2) Media.
- This product is stated to be 8 GB, and is manufactured and labeled as such, when in all actuality it is only 4, what a rip off.
- I use this 4GB memory card with my Sony Cybershot DSC-H50. It works perfectly. You not only get large storage capacity for high definition photos (over 3 megapixels), but also speedy data processing, which is important, specialy when you need to shoot photos fast. It stores the JPG files pretty fast so that you can continue shooting.
Same thing with the video shoothing. A couple of days ago, I was in a BBQ with some frieds and we have a band playing live music. I shot videos all the afternoon, and and never run out of space (about 45 minutes of video).
- I could not more pleased with my recent purchase of a 8 gig duodisk memory chip. I placed the order and it was shipped the same day. Delivery was made in a very reasonable time period and the pricing was the lowest I have seen.
- I bought this 16GB memory stick for use with my Sony HDR-CX12 and it works just fine. It is a bit expensive compared to SD/SDHC cards, however, Sony camcorders only take a meory stick and so i bought this. No complaints on the working. The transfer speeds are good to the laptop as well. Buy it if you need it.
- The memory stick is brand new, never opened.
The package contains exactly what was written in Internet.
Delivery was on time. I'd say that's full satisfaction.

5 comments about Sandisk 4GB EXTREME III SDHC SD Card Class 6 (SDSDX3-4096, Static Pack).
- I use this card with my new Canon SD790IS 10MP Digital Camera. I can get more than 900 photos on the highest settings. It records quickly, ready for me to take a second pic in a millisecond. I know technology advances, but this is way better than the 1GB SD card I used for my previous camera.
I now go out looking for ways to fill the card up with every trip!
- Digital Media Source sent me a bad one and refuses to replace or refund it. After purchasing a new one from best buy the card amazed me. It writes very fast and have never had a "writting" message pop up during use. Be careful who you buy it from, you might end up wasting your money.
- Received in perfect condition, great read and write speeds and though I have only had this card for about a month, I would still urge others to buy one.
- FAST FAST FAST access, upload & delete rate from camera to pc. also stores over 1K pix in an SD870IS this should be more than enough space until you can drop them onto a pc! VERY HAPPY, EXCELLENT PRICE & STANDARD SHIPPING ARRIVED IN TWO DAYS FOR ME! BUY IT NOW!
- The SanDisk cards are great and this is a good price. The seller tacks on about $4.25 per card for shipping and handling even though it probably cost them less than $1 to ship two cards to me. But, even with that "hidden" charge it was still cheaper than I can purchase these locally.
I ordered two cards. They were each packaged in the standard plastic shell case for an SD card and then inside a static bag, but without retail packaging. They appear to be new and unused. (I suspect that these discount sellers obtain these by breaking up bundled product sets, like a digital camera kit which includes the camera, a battery, a charger, and a memory card, and selling the individual pieces for a discount price, but I don't really know for sure).
Note: These cards are available from several different sellers on Amazon, this review is for the seller BlueProton.

5 comments about ASUS Eee PC 1000H 10-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Fine Ebony.
- The 1000H arrived on 9/24/08. It worked just fine out of the box after going through the setup. The display is very bright, I had to set the brightness 2/3 of the way down.
I did manage to "scrooch" XP trying to install Trend Micro 2007 and I had to do a restore using the ASUS restore DVD with a Lite-On DX-8A1H external USB CD/DVD drive. This took 15 minutes.
ASUS includes a 90-day trial version of Eset Nod32 anti-virus. I am using this and the Windows Firewall. There is minimal junk-ware pre-installed and what there is can be easily removed if you don't activate it first.
The keyboard is very useable and there is almost no flex in it. I didn't buy the Eee PC to write an encyclopedia, I bought it for when we travel to read email, etc. The touchpad operation/sensitivity can be improved by going into the hardware setup and setting the touchpad sampling rate to 20, the minimum value.
The wireless b/g/n connection works well with my Linksys WRT54G2 router and I can see and logon to several neighbors' networks as well.
I haven't tested the battery run-time but the battery meter with a wireless connection and the Bluetooth turned off indicates at least 5 hours after a full charge.
The included neoprene sleeve is excellent, I intend to carry the Eee PC in the sleeve inside an 11" boarding bag when we travel.
- A 10 for this wonderful and amazing product---
Pros. WiFi, bluetooth, web camera, 160 hard drive, 1 GB RAM (Upgraded to 2 GB to better performance), great 10 inch display, memory card reader, three 2.0 usb ports, great processor performance, battery (amazing), wonderful sound for a laptop.
Cons. Nothing! Best true portable machine.
Perfect portability, performance and design---
100% recommended.
- Within a half hour all of the programs locked up. Tried everything. NO 800 number to call. Control, alt delete would not work. No Support at all.
Returning and will not buy again. Why would a computer manufacturer not even have a number to call?
The worst company ever.
- The Asus Eee PC 1000H is exactly what I was looking for. --small, lightweight, fantastic battery life, quick with good-sized hard drive.
Highly recommended--GREAT FOR THE ROAD
- This bad boy is amazing! I expected a lot but got more. I spent $2700 on a Sony UX and could never use it because of so many limitations. This is a real laptop, just smaller. Running Office 2007, watch movies, doing a little Photoshop. Handles well. Feels solid and well built. Small and light. Even comes with a pouch! I LOVE IT!!!

5 comments about Toshiba HDDR320E03X 320GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive.
- I've had the external hdd for a few weeks now and its worked great. Its quiet and kept itself very cool. My only problem with it is the outside scratches easily, but its only cosmetic damage. Otherwise I will probably buy another once this one is full!
- I have been using this product for 2 months. Price is little above the average however it worths the premium. I bought it as a backup source for my mac. It is working perfect so far.
- Doesn't work with the MBA. Something to do with insufficient power supply probably. Toshiba help wasn't too useful - they have a standard reply for this by replacing the USB cable with one that has 2 heads on the computer side to increase the power. Even when I tell them that the Air only has 1 USB port, they insist to solve the problem with a 2 head USB wire. They should read customers' emails properly and reply accordingly.
Other brands like Lacie work fine on the MBA.
The Toshiba works in the Macbook Pro though..
- Straight forward, fast and does what it is suppose to. I also like the usb power, it makes it nice to have such a large capacity portable.
- Got this drive a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier. I have put so much music and art on it that I'm just amazed. Files that were filling up my aging PC and laptop's hard drives haven't even made a dent on this puppy.
Only flaw is the short cord that comes with it, but I had a spare that's plenty long.
I don't use the sync software. I just treat it like another drive and save things to it...

5 comments about SanDisk SDCFX3-004G-A31 4 GB Extreme III CompactFlash Card (Retail Package).
- I only had it for about a week, and so far it's been fast and reliable, the only thing I wish it was a bit cheaper.
- I have had this memory card for nine months. It's the best that I have owned. It functions flawlessly with my Canon 40D. Excellent speed. I can't say enough positive things about this excellent product. I take it out of the camera and insert into a reader, to take photos off the card. I have never had a problem, after many thousands of photos and numerous insertions into the card reader and the camera.
- It's Difficult to make a drawn out, detailed review for this product.
Simply because its exactly what they say it is: fast, accurate , reliable data storage. Ive used it in the snow , and in the blistering Arizona dessert, pared with my Xti. I have NEVER had any issues with it, ever. So far I have had 3,000 + images taken, most in raw. The box came with a good quality key chain to hold another memory card and a well built plastic case to hold it.
Should I ever need another memory card , or need to recommend a card to a friend , this will be the first , and only memory card on my list.
- Planning a trip, I am stunned to think that this card allows me to carry the equivalent of over 20 rolls of film for my Nikon D-70. Writes fast, works great. And it freshens your breath!
- Perfect purchase process. The product came in perfect shape. It was for a gift (no opportunity to seeing it performing)

- This is a great product at a great affordable price thanks again to Amazon.com! Plug in and use its that simple. A+
- I bought this for my Wii so I download saved games off the Internet (great for those games you rent where you don't want to burn most of your rental time trying to unlock the interesting stuff) and it works great. I haven't had any computability problems with either the Wii or my notebook.
- there's not much to say about this product.getting it surely allows u to store more data in your devices,in this case, pictures.being bundled with the camera,u actually get a great deal for it...
- multi purpose card, i use it in my alarm clock, camera, electronic picture frame... ton of uses!
- I bought a few of these to use in various devices, such as my Wii, Kindle, camera, etc. While I wouldn't use them in my high-end cameras, due to speed and performance, they work perfectly in normal devices. It's hard to beat them at this price.

5 comments about Motorola Surfboard SB5101 Cable Modem.
- I replaced an older model surfboard that I had been paying to rent for some reason from the cable company. It certainly makes more sense to buy my own. Anyway, out of the box this was set up and ready to go in 15 minutes. The hardware was a piece of cake to setup and a quick call to the cable company to get my new MAC address set up was all it took. There is a CD ROM that explains everything if you need it, but it is all pretty self explanatory. The modem works great and speed testing reveals that I am receiving my full speed to my laptop even through a router. It's a good buy and certainly a lot cheaper than renting.
- Bought this modem about 2 weeks ago for quality and value. Item was received in good order.
- Although we were highly satisfied with the item in the first few days, it died within a week. We thought the source of the problem was our cable company, and we tried to troubleshoot with them for over a week. In the end, the problem was with the modem. All of the lights on the unit were lit, yet there was no signal being transmitted.
While we may have received the only faulty unit from the bunch, I have no other choice than to say I would not recommend this product.
- Not much to say other than it works as advertised with Comcast's cable service. Supports boost too.
- I have this modem for about 2 years now. It started to develop a symptom that seems to relate to heat. If I lay down the machine, the bottom side will become hot and the machine will stop functioning.
Other then that there is no problem.
