2 comments about USB 87-Key Mini Keyboard (Silver).
- I bought it as a second keyboard when needed for limited space and it works great!
- I recently purchased this mini keyboard as I have very limited desk space at home. The price was what motivated me to get it, that way if it turned out I didn't like it then I wouldn't be out a ton of money, so I thought it was a good test run. Turns out it's a great little keyboard if you're limited on space. There are a couple of keys you will need to get use to but not a problem. So, if you're looking for an inexpensive mini keyboard, this is a great deal.

5 comments about HP Color LaserJet 2840 All-in-One Printer/Copier/Scanner/Fax (Q3950A#ABA).
- We got this printer 1 year ago, drivers for vista took forever to be available.
Drivers are big and bulky and take 40 - 50min to install per machine.
Network scanning feature doesn't work in neither Windows XP or Vista clients. (We have 20+computers and tried turning on/off firewalls etc)
Print quality is very good both in BW and color, but slow. The printer wastes a lot of toner and drum. The supplies count pages and when the count is up you have no printer. Even a single character counts as 1 page.
HP support only shipped a CD with drivers and after not being able to solve the problems, ignored any other request. We replaced the printer with a Brother MFC series and all users are happy.
Buyer beware, this printer is no good.
- This is our office's second 2840 all in one printer. We love it. It's great for a smaller office setting and has great functions on it.
- After a year of owning this printer we finally had to switch it out for a cheaper Brother with more features and functioning software. This All in one prints really well after you manage to configure it. The scanning software still doesnt work on the networtk with Vista. Duplexing is limited. No wifi. The toner and drums are expensive. If you have XP and are connected directly to it, it works really well, if not, its a gamble.
- During the honeymoon, My HP2840 all-in-one was wonderful. All the things it can do, and such high quality! So impressive! I only used the color laser periodically, and not heavily, doing all my B&W stuff on an old 6p workhorse, much quicker, and at a much lower price per copy. (Back when HP cared about the products they put out)
Before long, my HP 2840 made one of those scary, grinding noises that so many others report, and *POOF* would only print on the right 1/4 of the page. (The rest of the page was blank.)
WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, HP could not have been better. Once the fuser went bad, and *POOF* a free one appeared in my mailbox in a few days flat. On the latter incident, HP sent a tech to my home, he worked for THREE DAYS to get this puppy purring again, and the honeymoon went on again.
A few months later, and the same exact incident happened, except this time, two weeks out of warranty. HP no longer knew that I was a customer, Phone help was $25., and they could/would not recommend a tech to fix it.
For $900.00, I purchased a Foot and a half by foot and a half by two foot 135 lb. boat anchor, that no one can seem to fix, (Or they need half the new price of the printer to do it.)
So... Let's review: for $900.00, my cost per copy is about $3.00.
The printer no longer prints anything.
My desk is occupied by a 135lbs foot and a half square worthless
piece of junk, whose total capabilities, at this point is SENDING
faxes (Can't receive - because it can't print.) Scanning, (things
that you do not need to print, of course...
Oh... and it does still Read my camera card.
The most useless technology investment I have EVER met. -
EVEN worse than my two HP laptops - One won't play CD's and the other has a high pitched whine when you connect out of the sound card. (I'm a disk Jockey - this is what I use the laptops for)
I'm absolutely convinced that HP stands for HORRIBLE PRODUCT, and I have no use for HP whatsoever at this point!
- I just got this printer today. I don't use a network so I don't know anything about some of the issues some people have stated. I plugged it into my MAC it recognized it and I printed my first document seconds later.
No software needed.
The copier works well. I have not tried the scanner. Don't print with this thing during a meeting it it loud! Works great for my needs. Would have given it a 5 if it was not so loud.

5 comments about A-DATA MICRO SD 2GB with Micro Reader (microSD+USB interface).
- Great little product, the only thing I wish is that the carrier that it comes with had a solid eye ring for the tether instead of the rubber one so it would wear out.
- What I needed was an extremely portable flash drive for personal files at work. This thing fits the bill exactly. It has worked successfully on my Windows XP laptop, and personal Apple MacBook. The size is brilliant, and in a pinch, I can also stick the card into my phone. Several people have commented that they would lose it, and I do see that as a possibility. It comes with a rubber case which I have attached to my keys. In case of loss, most of my real data is inside a TrueCrypt container, so it quite safe.
Highly recommended.
- i got a 2GB micro SD, with a USB converter and a mini rubber case for $8. i use it for my palm centro cell phone and it works fine. i wanted to buy an sd and usb together since shipping can get expensive. i recommend this to anyone who needs a micro sd, or a really TINY usb.
- I had a small USB to Micro SD adapter that I thought was small before, but this one is amazing. The other one died because of the stress of being attached to my key chain and being in my pocket, which is why I liked this one when I saw it. The rubber sleeve will protect the unit from damage and makes it much easier to prevent loss. It even has an activity LED on the end of it to show when it's connected and flashes when writing to the drive. Only had this a little under a week, but so far I couldn't be happier. My biggest complaint would be the lack of color selection. It shows a green one in the picture for this, but I got a pink one like some of the other pictures show. Not a big deal, but I have taken some grief over the color already.
- Gotta love the cool-factor. But it's entirely functional too. Transfer speeds are pretty quick, small size is a must for me and they just couldn't make this any smaller. You could almost lose this thing in a shag carpet! I've purchased this as a gift for about 10 others - great price for a simple gift that still serves as a cool conversation piece. At least 4-5 other people have purchased one after seeing mine.
They do get hot though. When using the USB reader and transferring a lot of data, the little guy gets very hot to the touch, but not alarmingly so.
No issues with it after about 6 months of use. No regrets.

4 comments about Sabrent SATA-ES2P Internal SATA to 2-Port eSATA II 3GB External Host Bracket Cable (6.3 inches).
- This is a very very very bad product. The 2 eSata leads that connect to the motherboard are too short. Even when I rearranged the other PCI adapters, I was still not able to connect both eSata leads to the motherboard. Very stupid design. Leads should be at least 4 inches longer.
- Amazon doesn't accept a zero star rating, but that's all this product gets. The idea behind this product is good, but it's made so el-cheapo it's almost unusable.
I found the cables long enough, although barely. They are 9 inches long. (That's 22.5 cm, more than the 16m on the product descriptor.)
The real problem with this product is the external connector. It's barely usable. The connector has two small latches that are meant to lock the cable into place. They seem to be made out of foil. If utmost care is not used when inserting the external cable these latches bend inside the connector, making the connector unusable. Even if utmost care is used, these latches can bend in the same way. This WILL happen if you test the connector a few times before you put it in your computer. Once this happens, the connector is toast.
The inside connector (the one that connects to your SATA port) is fine. It's not the one that gets reused, though.
- I found this eSATA bulkhead exactly as advertised, and inexpensive.
The metal bracket is the same as every PC interface card. The internal cables could be a tiny bit longer, so measure carefully inside your case before you purchase (they fit my case perfectly - a full size Intel ATX motherboard).
The eSATA socket is no different than all the others I've seen. Remember these are not USB connectors. Fundamentally the eSATA connector is a bad design, not the fault of this product. It was also never meant to be connected and disconnected daily. You really are supposed to connect these drives once and not unplug them.
If you need a bulkhead to connect a newer external SATA drive, like the Seagate Free Agent Pro drives, this one works just fine. Remember, there's typically 4 SATA connectors on a motherborad. If you have 1, 2, or 3 internal hard drives, you'll have a spare plug to use for an external drive.
- Well-made, installed easily, works fine. The connectors are strong, so the problem someone else reported may have been fixed. The cables are a little over 9 inches long. That's longer than the 6.3 inches the description claims, and were (just) long enough to reach the SATA ports on my computer's Motherboard.
If the case was any larger, or if I hadn't been able to put the bracket in the bottommost slot, the cables would not have been long enough. Since an extra few inches wouldn't cost the manufacturer enough to make a difference, they really should include cables that are at least 12" long, maybe even 15".
So, before ordering, check your computer case to make sure 9" cables will be long enough. If so, this is an excellent solution at a reasonable price.

5 comments about Tripp Lite P512-010 VGA Monitor Gold Cable HD15M/M - 10ft.
- I bought this to replace my moniter cable for my Samsung LCD (the cable I was currently using had a short in it). This cable was even worse. The ghosting was so bad that I could barely read any of the text on my screen. Companies shouldn't even be selling cables this bad.
- I loved the fact that it came in a timely fashion. Just got a new 56 inch television that I now can use as a computer monitor thanks to this cable! Good job! Good product!
- Works exactly as required, and at a great price.
This combination makes it easy to recommend this cable.
- I've been working with monitors and cables for almost 30 years. This, without a doubt, is the worst one ever. Really strong ghosting, any screen object had three or four echoes beside it. Text was unreadable. The cheezy little cable that came with my monitor works better than this.
Just as an aside, the cable looks completely different from the one in the photo. Perhaps the good reviews here were for another model.
- I RECEIVED THE PRODUCT WITH NO PROBLEMS ...ITS A CABLE ...SO ..IT WORKED... NOT MUCH ELSE TO SAY

5 comments about Matrox D2G-A2D-IF DualHead2Go Digital Edition.
- I can second the review by Bruce Funk - this item works great on my iMac (new metal 20" iMac). I have it set up so that I have the iMac and two 17" displays running (three display areas in total, although it treats the two 17" monitors as one area, as he said). That gives 1680x1050 + 2560x1024 for pixel area. And now with three workspaces, one is for email, one is for the web, and one is for my EyeTV tv viewing. Pretty amazing setup.
- It is a great product. Does as promised. This is the second of this devices that I own. I also own an analog edition DoubleHead 2 Go.
Two small problems with it. The setup is not as intuitive as it should be, and requires serveral startup cycles to get the right resolution (and it is still a tricky issue). The second issue with it is that even though you get two screens, windows treats them as one big screen. This means that you can not split them. So you basically have only to config options:
a) Laptop - Screen - Screen
b) Screen - Screen - Laptop
For me the best option would be
c) Screen - Laptop - Screen
But this configuration is not possible unless you like to have it as one of the two supported configs (a or b) logically and physically as (c) But then you would get wierd warping of windows as you move from one screen to another. I do not know if this is a limitation because of windows, but if those two issues were resolve I would rate this product 5 stars.
On more thing, before you buy you need to go to the Matrox website to see if your Laptop's Display card is supported, and if it supports the correct resolution for the two monitors you are going to use. They have a wizard that helps you with this.
- I simply can't get this produce to work. I'd give it no stars if I had the option. Save your money and time.
- I don't have time to write a long review, but let me say this: When I need something for my computer and I need it to work and work well, I am very picky about what I purchase. I took a long time researching the products in this category and chose this one based on both price and features. I was not disappointed. It is a superb product - easy to install and configure and very reliable. I don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing to run two additional monitors of high resolution. Beware, some other products do not support the higher resolutions that this product supports!
- I'm not sure what the review suggesting that this product is not for laptops is talking about. This product is PERFECT for laptops, as most laptops only have one external monitor output. I have a Lenovo X61 tablet connected to two Dell 24" widescreen monitors using the DualHead2Go. This gives me a total resolution of 3840x1200. Setup wasn't completely intuitive, and I did have to get on the phone with Matrox tech support to help me set it up. Turned out this was a problem with the Intel graphics drivers, and Matrox tech support very knowledgeably helped me find an older Intel driver that worked better with the Matrox box. (They even did the work for me using Remote Desktop.)
It now works beautifully. My only complaint is that the software doesn't seem to react well when I hot undock, so I've gotten into the habit of shutting down the machine when I'm ready to undock and head home. A little inefficient (since Vista takes so long to shut down and reboot) but not a huge deal.
If you're thinking of buying this product make sure you carefully check the compatibility with your system. The Matrox web site has a downloadable utility that will do this for you. Do you homework so that you're not stuck with a product that won't work with your system!

5 comments about Speck MacBook 13" See-Thru Hard Case - BLUE - Fits all versions of 13" MacBooks.
- love this thing Keeps the laptop protected. and looks cool to. ill get one for every mac i buy. fits like a glove, just like a cover for you ipod. just make sure you follow the picture guide in the box when putting it on or you may have to give it a few trys.
- I bought this case for my new MacBook and it makes it look soooo chic and fashionable.... I am very happy with it, the only thing that I dont like is that the MacBook gets a little dirty inside the case.... So I have to get it off and clean and then put it again! Anyway its a great case.
- If you just bought a brand new mac laptop, you have to buy a case, and not just a neoprene sleeve, an actual form fitting, clip on case. Apple products are expensive, buy something expensive to protect your investment!!!
I did a lot of shopping around for my macbook case before i purchased it. If you want to look at other manufactures besides Speck take a loot at U-suit, Macally, or Incase. They are roughly the same product that does the same job at roughly the same price even though some are leather, some are hard plastic etc... Clip on cases, not just Speck cases, have one major problem - they need to be regularly cleaned so small hard objects wont get in-between the case and the computer and scuff up the surface of the computer. Cleaning is not difficult - i only clean mine once every two weeks and it still looks brand new.
The great thing about Speck cases is that they come in every color of the rainbow and they are see through, so you don't have to worry about blocking off the precious apple light on the lid of the computer and you can also secure photos between the computer and the case - which is awesome for my girlfriend's computer. As for ventilation, there are adequate slots along the heat sink and by the vents for air to circulate. The only problem that i have with the case (i do not know if it is particular with Speck products or not) is that it creates a lip around the edge of the computer thus it makes typing a little uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, i have written several ten-page research papers with the case on and managed it just fine, but when you get writers block you begin to notice even the smallest stupid things.
- I bought my macbook a little over a year ago. I immediately purchased the case to protect it and it seemed like a great idea at first. It does however create internal scratching on its own and bumpy rough scratches end up appearing on the cover. If you're willing to remove the case ever so often and wipe it down, maybe it would keep it looking better. Plus, removing the case is such a frustrating process. I always feel like i'm walking on eggshells. unless you're a neat freak and could handle the pressure while opening it don't get it.
- It will protect the exterior from scratches and perhaps from some minor trauma, don't think that it will protect it from a fall.... additionally, you should buy a keyboard and/or screen cover to protect the functional components of the computer.
