5 comments about Xbox 360 MC2 Racing Wheel.
  1. Xbox 360 MC2 Racing Wheel is not working for me :( .. I connected it to the XBOX.. Power is not getting switched on for Xbox 360 MC2 Racing Wheel.

  2. Christmas day, wheel handed off to my 8 year nephew to play with Project Gotham Racing. After one hour the pin from the brake pedal fell out and, from what I could tell of the design of the pedals, I couldn't see how this could last more than a day or two.

  3. I've had two of these wheels and both had the same problem -- the communicator connection was bad. In races on PGR3, I would get complaints about feedback and a bad connection all the time. So I stopped using the communicator when I raced, which hurt the fun of the game. The wheel itself is fine and I actually prefer it to the MS wheel, which was nearly 3 times as expensive. But the communicator problem is serious, and I've heard other owners of the Mad Catz wheel complain about the same problem. I haven't used this wheel in six months and I'm hoping Mad Catz got enough complaints that they finally did something to correct it. Too bad

  4. I've got this wheel and the voice function does not work. Unfortunately Madcatz's response is "we know about it but because it's a problem with code and/or products provided to us by MS we can't fix it for you and by the way we will not refund your money". They did say that sometimes they get wheels from China that have been refurbished and the problem is corrected (which means they know how to fix it they just don't want to spend the money fixing all the bad wheels out there) so if you want to send your wheel in they will replace it with one of these wheels but they don't know how long it will take (they implied it would be months). I'm very unhappy with them and will never buy a Madcatz product again.

  5. The wheel works great with PGR3, Forza2 and Dirt. It does take some getting used to. You really have to work the pedals to make the turns, but with a little practice ou will get it. I have always loved racing games, but never had a wheel. I got the MC wheel and knew there would be a learning curve. It took me a couple days to get the hang of it, but I am now better with the wheel than I ever was with a controller.

5 comments about Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3.
  1. when the product didnt work with the home computer after the sale they did not even respond to an email trying to figure out what to do. the product was shipped quickly.

  2. One of the worst products that I have ever owned. Poorly quality, unreliable.

Printer software is bloated and slows down the computer at boot. Synching a camera with the computer is hit or miss. Often takes several iterations of plugging/unplugging the camera/dock. Printer paper won't feed properly - gets jammed every other picture and ends up wasting the color carteridge. All-in-all this is a piece of junk and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Prints about 1 picture out of 10 successfully and even then the quality is not that great.

Only significant use I've found for this is as an ugly paperweight.

  3. I got mine a little over a year ago. I thought I could make some saving by buying a package deal of 3 packs of paper and printing cartridge for the price of 2. I used the first pack without any problems. The printer gave me good quality prints...I liked it more than my HP Photosmart printer. Six months passed and I changed my cpu and got Vista in place of XP. The original software did not work. After downloading the updated software, the printer became erratic. Firstly, the computer refused to recognise the printing dock. The firmware update did not seem to have any effect. I found out that I had to do several power-offs of the printer and connecting and reconnecting the usb line before the operating green light came on. It seemed that the printer needed to be connected after the software was activated. Perhaps it was the fault of my computer but this problem did not exist with XP. Secondly, it refused to recognise the new cartridge I put in. The amber light came on and stayed on. Only after several removals of the cartridge and reinsertions did the amber light stay off. Then came the two next disappointments. The cartridges which I bought some time ago left bubbles on the photos because the laminate which is laid onto the print at the final step of printing seemed to have deteriorated in the cartridge. Worse still, the printer would not stop printing the one photograph I wanted. It kept going on and on. So I ended up with about 8 prints all with bubbles or streaks caused by the laminate. Perhaps the shelf life of the cartridges is short. Perhaps I did not store the cartridges in the best environment. But the software and firmware problems seem just too much.

  4. As other reviewers have stated, when it works the pictures are of very nice quality. Unfortunately, the misfeeds and jams started after printing a small number of pictures (20 at most) and have gotten worse and worse until it's totally useless. Do NOT buy this piece of junk.

  5. I've had my printer dock for about 4 years and the only reason I keep it is because it also charges the battery to the camera. My main problem is 9 times out of 10, the printer jams or misfeeds. I just tried the rubbing alcohol on the paper roller and it was able to grab the paper. Also, the picture doesn't print out immediately, it pulls the picture back and forth through the paper feed to add each additional layer of color so this constant use of the paper feed may also be the reason for the paper jams. The picture quality is good but I've just reverted back to uploading my pictures and having them printed at local store. This product is not recommended.

5 comments about Kensington Notebook Expansion Dock with Video; USB Connection 33367.
  1. I bought this expansion dock on sale for $99.00, and I am happy with the value for the money. When I plug my laptop into the dock, my printer and monitor are instantly available. (The dock I had before was worthless; I had to reboot my printer every time I reconnected to the dock.) Moreover, I've noticed no lag time in the connectivity. The only weird thing I've noticed is that I seem to have to readjust the resolution on my monitor each time I reconnect to the dock. There must be a way to get around this, but I haven't discovered it yet. There are expansion docks that are much more expensive, but this one works really well for my use.

  2. This is the sort of product that should be a no-brainer, but there were a couple of unintended benefits from getting it. Since my laptop has replaced the tower, the level and angle of the keyboard had taken some getting used to, and the dock raised the angle enough to make typing much more convenient. Also, the airflow under the laptop has increased, keeping it a little cooler. The software is simple to understand and easy to install. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

  3. Looked like a nice docking station but is not compatable
    with Windows Vista 64 bit

  4. I spent several hours attempting to get the video form my new Toshiba Laptop- new HP display along with the normal geek stuff- i.e. PDA phone, HP printer, Scanner, sound system - mouse and key board. In the end tossed the Expansion Dock in the heap of older out dated computer stuff- in the end used a powered seven USB hub and ended up with (4)plugs to laptop- 1. Power, 2. Video 3. Sound cable to HP display and 4. The USB Hub.
I feel the conflicts are a result of the Expansion Dock attempting to work with the new VISTA operating System. Just a paint to get the things to play together upon shut down to re- boot.

In the end a Toshiba laptop owner might have to wait for Toshiba to get its Tower Port System a little better engineered- from most reviews it has a way to go- I have not tried it - wasted far too much on hardware and some degree software that does not work as stated.

  5. The basics work fine; keyboard, mouse, speakers
But I have not been able to get the dock to support my monitor. I installed the new drivers from the Kensington web site which seem to work termporarily. However, upon reboot my Dell XPS laptop (running Vista) does not recognize the VGA driver.
I called Kensington for support on this issue. I got the worse support I have received in my life. Support did nothing to diagnos the problem. They claimed it was a Microsoft or Dell issue and that I should call them.

  1. This is pretty awesome. It has several functions and if you're either an avid player or encouraging growth of vocabulary in another (like your kid) it's well worth the price.

One of the more impressive features is that it can tell you possible plays provided what's on the board and the letters you have. Really good way to learn new words.

    Technology rocks.

  2. Scrabble SCR-228 Players Dictionary
Franklin used to make a electronic Scrabble dictionary (based on the third edition of the official printed dictionary) that was the size of a credit card, easy to use and read, and could "travel" with little hassle due to its size. No more. They still make the model SCR-226 which is identical in appearance to the SCR-228 but also is based on the OLDER edition. Search the boxes in vain for the small print that explains the differences between 226 and 228. The SCR-228 is updated to the fourth edition. It's still easy to use, but the much larger letters, ironically, are a bit harder to read due to the huge display. Works fine, but why not continue to make a smaller, cheaper, just-as-good version?

  1. Firstly, it is incredibly important that you DO NOT use the bundled software for this scanner. The program is confusing and terribly disorganized. I have had several issues with using OmniPage, Readris, and Microsoft Scanning software bundled with Windows. While image quality is good, especially considering the speed of the ADF, the ADF gets jammed during almost every scan with these programs.

I strongly recommend that if you have purchased this scanner, use Adobe Acrobat 6 or later. I am using 6.0 Professional and it works like a charm. The file size is extremely manageable (300K for 15 pages) and is quite readable.

If you have not purchased this scanner, DON'T. While I don't have any recommendations for other models or brands, I will suggest strongly that you avoid this one. It has been quite an experience, causing me to use Kinko's and similar because I couldn't get this scanner to work. Since using Acrobat, most issues have been mitigated to a tolerable level.

  2. Man, after reading the reviews here I thought that I had made a big mistake in buying the Xerox Documate 510. I bought it for office use at my desk, light to moderate use, mostly for document scanning. The unit works fine. I admit that the paperport software takes a little to get used to. It wants to do everying, like organizing your files within its system of doing things. My files are already organized, thank you. So I just use the simple Microsoft Office Document Scanner software that I already know how to use. It's fully compatable with the scanner and I can convert to PDF without a problem. I can fax scanned documents as easy as pie.

In looking over the negative reviews here, it seems like many of them had problems with the set up and didn't get much help from Xerox support. i.e, an axe to grind? Don't let them scare you away. The instructions are explicit on how to do the set up. It's not a simple plug and play type of unit. But, it took me about 1/2 hour to do the set up and I'm very happy with it so far. I paid $200, including shipping, off of ebay and it's worth every penny and more.

  3. While I agree with previous posters about customer service. I completely disagree with the overall "do not buy" comments. I have had 5 different ADF scanners (priced below $500) and have had numerous problems with all, EXCEPT for the Documate 510. This product is fantastic and is one of the only true low priced ADF scanners.

  4. The scanner looks nice but very deceiving, I bought this scanner because of the name Xerox.
I had it for about 2 months and scanned maybe 100 sheets, now it died!
Xerox after 3weeks of calls now wants me to pay return shipping and they say I will get a refurbished unit. (Bad company)

  5. Jeez, where to start here. First of all, the price is ridiculously high, even for an item like this that actually works. This one doesn't work, unfortunately.
    A. No Mac drivers available anywhere on the internet, even though it has been out around 4 years now. I have a PC also so I used it on that.
    B. First 7-8 scans O.K., and then several lines down the middle of all the rest.
I put it back in the box and took it back to the store. End of saga. It's hard to believe that this is such a total pile of junk considering the price, but as others have said this isn't made by Xerox. It's a re-badged Visioneer model, and a crappy one at that.
Don't waste your time or money.

  1. I am using it for 5 months now. Did not find any issues with it. sleek design.

  2. Very descent drive with a lot of storage space for the price. (If you are getting it with the 70% discount). Easy to use, doesn't have any driver issues. The downside I would say is the plastic that makes it feel a little fragile and kind of loose. It's not the smallest drive in the world but it isn't bulky either, Overall very good for the price.

  3. I purchased JetFlash V10, 4gb about a month and a half ago. It has simply never worked. Transcend will not honor the "Lifetime" warrantee (they actually will not even return my emails or faxes). The Amazon seller will not take the item back, it was just a waste of money. I will never buy a Transcend product again.

  4. It looks flimsy, but it does the job. Definitively not a high end product. It is small and the connector is retractable. I use it to transfer files between my computers and it has served me well. It comes with software that looks interesting. I did not install it. Can't beat it for the price. I recommend it.

  5. very light. hope my nephew doesn't lose it. love the fact that instead of using a cover the metal port connector retractable-dont recall seing that in the info about it.

  1. We purchased these headphones before our trip to Europe so our toddler could watch the video ipod. The headphones are comfortable and rugged. She loves the bear ears and they held up to all her abuse. Two thumbs up!!

  2. For a cheap pair of headphones these were fine. The "red" is more like brownish-maroon, but the character is cute. The volume control is useful and a bonus. The main - and only - drawback is that the headphones are not adjustable across the head: they either fit or don't. We bought two - one for a smallish 6-year-old, one for her larger 8-year-old sister, and both are happily wearing them. (They look real cute, too.)

  3. I got these for my son to use on our portable dvd player, for trips. He's only a year and a half and I wasn't sure that they would fit him, but they do. They are adjustable and could even fit a young adult. To adjust pull the band at the top of the ear pieces. So these will grow with him, which is great for me as a parent. I'm glad I don't have to buy a new pair every year. They are very durable and have survived a couple trips.

I like that there is an external volume control. They seem to be very comfortable for him. He doesn't try to pull them off at all. My suggestion to parents who plan on using these on small children for trips is, make sure you get the child used to wearing them. After that it should be smooth sailing.

Its also nice that there is only one wire running from the head piece. So if the child moves suddenly and the headphones come off, the wire won't pull at them.

I would deffinately recomend these to anyone, as a childs first pair of headphones.
