5 comments about Western Digital Passport Essential Portable 250GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive (WDME2500TN).
  1. This really is a great product. It is worth every penny and more.
The WD 320 Passport is very quiet and reliable. I carry it with me where ever I go and have access to my files. I traveled to Europe and I placed both my video and picture files in it and brought them home securely.

I've recommended this product to my friends and they've also purchased it and are very happy with it.

  2. So far everything is working fine. I had some problem with one of my USB ports, but I believe the computer should be blammed.

  3. I really like the stylistic aspects of this hard drive. It is small enough to take anywhere you want to take it. The drive itself is very easy to use. It does have a significant weakness and that is the fact that it solely depends on the usb port for its power source. My laptop could not actually handle the power that the passport hard drive required and I kept getting an error message about a power surge. I fixed that problem by buying a powered usb hub to plug into my computer and then connected the portable hard drive to my laptop that way. That is my one complaint about the portable hard drive, but it was a simple fix that added about $25 dollars to what I spent on the hard drive itself.

  4. So far, I'm very happy with this drive--it's been really fast and extremely handy. I love the fact that it is USB-powered, and I can transport my entire hard drive from home no matter where I go.

I did have an older WD drive (I think it was only 80GB) that just stopped working on me after about 3 years, so I am going to be careful and not consider this drive a "permanent" backup. I would still keep a separate backup of important/permanent files. However, for day-to-day access to all of my documents, this is just great--one of my favorite things.

It is also a perfect gift for a new parent--all the pictures and video of baby really fill up a hard drive quickly!

  5. Great size physically and does what you need it to. You do lose about 16GB so it's not really 250, but I guess that's the way it goes with these. Others I know had issues with the FAT32 format, but it's easy to reformat as NTFS.

5 comments about Linksys-Cisco WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router (Compatible with Linux).
  1. I have been using WRT54GL for the past 1 month. Its good so far. I didnt see any problems.

  2. If you are interested at all in security and special features, this is the router to get - and then replace the stock firmware with one of the open source versions. I went with Tomato and have been completely amazed. It's Linux, runs IPTables, supports port knocking, logs incoming/outgoing data rates, logs blocked incoming/outgoing packets, allows you to limit incoming connections by source IP, and so on.

I am using this as the router just in from my DSL modem and have a webcam linked in wirelessly and restricted to just being watched from my work IP address. Running against Steve Gibson's Shields-Up, if I allow his IP and forward the port, it sees the port just fine. If I take GRC's IP out, it's as if there was no web server up at all. Totally hidden.

Even if you aren't sure which router to get, spend the extra $15 or so and get this one because if you ever do want to get the hot setup, this one lets you do it. Worst case, you have a really good router in its own right. But install other firmware (easy) and you can have features that commercial routers for businesses have.

  3. This router was purchased for our Community center. I immediately installed DD-WRT firmware. The router covers the whole building which formerly was a one story four room rural school with a gym. It has been in operation for about a month with out any problems. It is setup with remote web administration to avoid a trip to the building to check on it.

  4. I've been shopping around for a few days for a USED pre-version 5 WRT54G and still can't believe I can get one NEW here for less. The WRT54GL is essentially the WRT54G version 4. This is a great deal. Buy it and flash it with Tomato, DD-WRT or whatever premium firmware you like. I personally like Tomato for my simple setup.

  5. I replaced a crash prone WRT54AG router with the WRT54GL. I was hesitant because I had so many problems with the other Linksys router. However after reading many rave reviews and the ability to flash a Linux based firmware I took a leap of faith. I installed the Tomato firmware and could not be happier. The router has never locked up and the signal strength is incredible. I can listen to streaming radio via my iPhone while mowing the lawn! If you want a rock solid, 3rd party firmware capable router look no further. Now only if they had an N version of this.

  1. The xD cards are great. The only problem is I asked for express shipping because I was leaving for a vacation in 7 seven days. I did not receive the cards within that time. I still feel I am owed a refund for the express shipping since the whole purpose was to receive the cards within 4 days and it took 7 0r 8 days. The cards did not come in until after I left. I am not happy with this merchant.

  2. I bought this memory card on June 2008.

The delivery arrived in time and I've inserted the Memory card in my Olympus camera and worked ok.

  3. my camera is Olympus C5000, which takes a longer time to read 2GB card than 156M card.

  4. Works exactly as advertized in my new camera - an Olympus Stylus 1010 - especially enjoy the Panoramic mode. Just got back from a mountaineering climbing trip of Mt. Hood & Rainier. Great product and no problems.

  5. Large memory, dependable, well-made. I get over 550 high quality photos on my 7 MP digital camera. A great buy at Amazon!

  1. My son recommended this product to me so I can take some things off my desktop computer and put it in my laptop or the reverse. It meets my needs perfectly! Thanks Again Pepsi!

  2. i think pretty much all the thumb drives work the same this one has a clip which i wanted so I could attach it to my key chain the clip broke in 1 day the drive works perfectly but if you want to attach it to keys or bookbag etc look elsewhere.

  3. This is a great product and it was shipped very fast. I highly recommend this seller.

  4. This is the first time I have purchased a Kingston data product. I am well satisfied with its convenience and performance. I would recommend this product very highly.

  5. They pretty much work or don't work. This is does. While it's case is plastic it has held up to more then it's share of abuse without complaint. No errors, no fouls. And at the time a good price for the amount of storage space.

  1. Seems like a nice value -- but the shipping period was ridiculus !! I have never had anything ordered through Amazon take so long to ship. (about 2 weeks). I had purchased it for a guest who was visiting from Canada, by the time it came he had returned home and the re-shipping cost was nearly as much as the product. -- how fustrating.

  2. No problems at all--I use it to transfer files between a Mac and a PC with no difficulties. Very convenient and highly recommended.

  3. Purchased this so that I could transfer files to my new laptop. It does exactly what I bought it for. I really like the the thumb drive. No more lost caps. I've owned a number of Kingston products in the past and have always been pleased by their performance -- and their price.

  4. This is a great buy for the money. I previously had a 1 GB flash drive--filled it to capacity. I then got a 2GB flash drive and also filled it to capacity (I store a lot of pictures). This one is great--I transferred all of my files from my other two flash drives and still have plenty of room. I highly recommend this item!

  5. ITS AMAZINGLY FAST ICAN STORE HUGE FILES IN SECONDS NO MORE CD'S FOR ME AND THE PRICE WAS A LOT LESS THAN BEST BUY

5 comments about SanDisk 2GB MicroSD/TransFlash Card with SD Adapter (SDSDQ-2048, Bulk Package).
  1. Hummm...I don't know if SanDisk would approve of the use of their likeness for this product. It looks an awfully lot like a knock-off, but it was probably produced in the same overseas factory as the real SanDisk.

I got this to put in the EnV2 and it works fine. Connected to XP system via USB card reader and it works fine.

  2. Three computers and a printer would not recognize this card, so in exasperation I took it to Best Buy to find out why. Turns out the adapter was faulty. BlueProton did not refund shipping for faulty merchandise, so there was no way I would try another card to see if it were a fluke. Why should I have to pay shipping 2X to test their products?

  3. what can i say it works great holds pic. music and files on my phones works great!!!

  4. JUST WHAT I NEEDED---JUST A PLASTIC CASE THAT HELD THE LITTLE CARD--STRANGE, THE SHIPPING WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE SD CARD. $5.00 FOR SHIPPING--ARE YOU FOR REAL. NEVER-THE-LESS, I STILL THOUGHT IT TO BE A GOOD DEAL. SHIPPING?????? $5.00=== WHAT??

  5. well i got this sandisk just for music and i filled my phone with all my favorite songs!!!! so im glad about that, it also came quick and in its case.. amazing quality..real good!! buy one!!!

5 comments about SanDisk 8 GB Cruzer Micro USB 2.0 Drive with U3 SDCZ6-8192-A11 (retail packaging).
  1. The SanDisk 8 GB Cruzer Micro USB Drive is made to be compatible with Windows Operating System. The limitations placed on the SanDisk 8 GB Cruzer Micro USB Drive pertain to this fact. I sometimes find that the SanDisk 8 GB Cruzer Micro USB 2.0 Drive will not show up on my PowerBook 17". It is still a valued piece of equipment for its large capacity and the actual USB Key that can be withdrawn into the unit, for safety and portability. Buying through Amazon was much better in terms of economics then buying locally. I simpy wish that the Micro USB Drive had come with more compatibility information pertaining to use with Apple OS X. I still recommend use of SanDisk 8 GB Cruzer Micro USB drive for those in the market for a USB drive. No matter what the OS. Best Regards.

    Sincerely,
    - R.

  2. Tis seller sent wat I ordered and it arrived witin in just a few days.

  3. I upgraded from the 4GB to this one and its the same great product with more capacity

  4. Great Product many extra features. A negitive is that the flash drive is hard to plug into usb.

  5. This product is one of the better thumbdrive as it keeps the connection within its cover and does'nt have one that you might lose easily. Highly recommended for feasibility and price.

  1. I've had this router for two months and had nothing but problems. It randomly looses it's ip connection to my cable modem and then takes forever to find it again. Based on the mixed feedback I see on this site I suspect it's a production defect that only affects certain routers as I see both very good and very bad ratings. You're taking a risk buying this router. I won't buy it again!

  2. i'm not the most tech-savvy individual. That being said, i'm highly satisfied with this product.

It works extremely well, and is VERY easy to set up and use. It has provided me with several months of uninterrupted, reliable wireless internet.

I've even used this for multiple computers at the same time. Works brilliantly. Highly recommended.

  3. I've not got the router set up and all seems to be working, I hope for a long time. So I'm not reporting a router issue, but an installation issue for Macs. The Linksys set-up disk, which apparently is supposed to make set-up a 5-minute process, doesn't work for Macs. But I didn't see that info on the Amazon product description, or on the Linksys support site. And it took 15 mins to get that little detail from the Linksys chat, which asked idiotic questions like "where are you", a question that is just another nonsensical hurdle when you are trying to load a disk in a computer. The Chat person was totally unhelpful and a waste of time. Finally, I found an installation process on a Mac Forum. But what should have been -- as touted -- a 5-minute exercise took an hour and a half. Mac users, my suggestion is to find a router that promotes itself as Mac ready.

    saludos!!

  5. The first thing I liked about this router was the customer support that it provided. Because there was no set-up program for a Mac with the product, I called the support people and was walked through a manual set-up that worked immediately, with no clitches (later I found out that the Linksys website has a set-up software package that can be downloaded to accomplish the same thing.
Since then, the router has been performing very well. It provides the maximum amount of download and upload speed that our dsl modem and line will support. So I'm very happy.

5 comments about Transcend 16GB SDHC CARD (SD 2.0 SPD CLASS 6) with Compact Card Reader.
  1. The card worked fine with my Canon HF10 camcorder, but after only 2 moths the camcorder was not able to recognize the card anymore, even trying to reformat it. I've tried to plug it with the USB reader and others SD readers in 3 computers, but nothing solved the problem. I'd rather pay more for a traditional brand to avoid headaches of loosing important files. The USB card reader works fine, nothing to complain.

  2. I purchased this SDHC card to use in my Canon Digital Rebel XSi. I shoot in RAW and haven't needed my back up card yet. It writes quickly and I haven't experienced any lag time. The card reader that comes with the card is compact and easy to use. I love that I can throw it in my camera bag and then there is no need for me to lug around the cables to connect my camera to the computer, which I have previously had to do because the card reader that is built into my 1 year old computer won't read the SDHC card due to the capacity being too high. I would highly recommend this product if you are in the market for a high capacity HD card.

  3. Great value for the price! After googling many different sites this was one of the best deal for a 16GB SDHC Card.

  4. I bought this for use with my Canon Vixia HF-100 HD camcorder. It has performed flawlessly. It's huge storage size will record roughly 2 hours of video (twice what the Canon battery can last, incidentally). The card reader is great, as I can simply and easily transfer my video without hassles of hooking up camcorder cables.

A memory card is a simple item, and this simply works without any problems.

  5. The read and write speed of this card is average. The included sd card reader can not read 16 GB card although reads 4GB card ok.I did not test 8GB card.

  1. Excellent choices! I'm glad I have purchased the cards. The price is excellent, the quality is excellent, saved a lot of money. Couldn't be more happier on this purchase. I would recommmand it to anyone that need a 4GB SDHC SD 2.0 SPD.

  2. This product is very in-convient. It does not work very well. And sometimes a black screen pops up.

  3. Works great. Great price.
However, if you use a card reader (as I do), it needs to have SDHC support. My old reader couldn't read this card; I had to transfer with a cable from the camera to the computer.

  4. I purchased this to double the capacity of my 4GB Creative Zen, which it did quite nicely. I've owned it for almost two months with no data loss, read errors, etc. Used it right out of the box with no trouble. Physically it's built very well, and doesn't have the "cheap feel" characteristic of inexpensive electronics.
As long as you make sure the device you'll use this with is compatible with SDHC (high-capacity SD) cards, you'll be good to go.

  5. This product seems to work just great. No problems at all. In fact, it came with a card reader that wasn't expected. Wonderful purchase.
