1. I purchased this laptop in February-use it daily and have never had one problem with it. I wouldn't buy any other kind than HP and if the house burns down, the kids will have to fend for themselves-I'm saving the laptop! I have recommended it to many people!!



2. This is the worst computer I have ever owned. I had it for a week and got so frustrated that I erased everything and put XP on it to find out they don't make the device drivers for XP. How convenient. I can't install any of my software on it. Some programs I paid hundreds of dollars for.

Compre este laptop por internet, pague con tarjeta de credito de sur america, y me lo enviaron a una direccion de un familiar en miami, me'parece que es muy buena opcion comprar por amazon, ya que se puede pagar con tarjeta y recibir en una direccion diferente a la direccion de cobro, esta opcion no la encontre en otros .
   El laptop supera mis espectativas, es algo pesado para cargar, pero lo compre para mantenerlo en casa.



4. I've had this beauty since May '08. I tried Windows Vista for a few days, but I really hate it, can't stand it, so I went back to good old Windows XP, after researching a little over the internet I found a complete list of the drivers, and yes, they all work perfectly, so since may 15 I've been using XP and I'm loving it. Also I've recently installed Kubuntu 8.04 and although I'm having some problems with the wireless and ricoh card drivers, it rocks.
   
   I totally recommend this PC.



5. I am totally happy with the computer itself although the key popped off after a week but that's not a major issue. My only complaint is about HP service, the only way I can fix that is to send the computer back to them which will take 3 weeks or more to come back to me. I compare that with another manufacturer, it's really discouraging for future considerations.

1. There was a mistake about the procesor and the ram memory. Also the hard disk. instead of having 4 gb of ram it came with 3. the processor is the TL-60 instead the tl-58. and the HDD is about 148 instead of 160. The most important thing is the ram memory because it would affect the price of the computer. please be more careful and i think that i should get a discount or something like a gift certificate so i can use that money to buy another tinhgs. unfortunately the computer is already in venezuela and that is why i dont consider to send it back to get the proper product. Anyhow the shiping was good.

1. This is my first build with a dual core cpu. I have a laptop with a core duo, but I didn't build that. This is only a 45w cpu, which is great if you want a quiet system. That also doesn't mean this cpu can't pull any weight; It does fine with that too.
   
   I installed it without any difficulty. I appreciate the newer design of a solid flat processor top. My last cpu was an Athlon 2400+ with the small, fragile chip in the middle. In any case, I felt safer installing this one. I used the stock heatsink/fan that AMD supplies with it. Do be careful, however, if you want to remove it in the future. The thermal compound they use is practically a glue. I had a lot of trouble removing it when I wanted to install another heatsink.
   
   It runs cool. With the stock heatsink, it never broke 90F. With an after-market heatsink, it was sitting in the 70s at idle. I overclocked it from the stock 2300MHz to almost 2800MHz, and it still only sits in the 80s at idle. It only reaches the 90s at full load. I think I could probably get 3GHz out of it with air cooling and still not break 120F, maybe not even 110F. And that's with a modest heatsink/fan (OCZ Vanquisher).
   
   I'm not sure what else I could ask of this little cpu.

1. The holder for the light pen broke on the first day. It only let the pen be inserted part of the way so it would stick out over 1 inch. Calling the HP service number was of little help because they wanted me to send the computer back to them for service which would take at least 2 weeks. So I decided just to live with the pen sticking half way out of the holder. Other than that the computer is ok but the monitor is small and windows vista slows it down.



2. The HP PC's are TRASH in my opinion. I bought the DV6226US in March 2007, and my System Board fried just 7-1/2 months later. They replaced it, and 8 months later if fried again - and HP wouldn't cover it. With the excessive heat no wonder! A system board crashing is rare but 2 boards in 16 months is nothing but defective product - pure and simple. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT

   I'm a college student and I've been using this to take notes in class and i love it. it has actually helped my grades and makes studying easier and faster. This not for gamers and if you like walking around holding your notebook as you use it then it's not for you. But if your smart and you realize that you remember things better when you write them down and want the added ability to back up all of your school work instantly then this is for you. It does have some faults but if your not very nitpicky about your computers like most of the people who wrote reviews on this then get it!

5. I bought this laptop and it only lasted 2 days!!! yes 2 days. I called HP tech support and after 2 hours of waiting on the phone they said that the motherboard was dead and I needed to ship back the item, I did and guess what the new laptop died 1 month later, same problem same model and same tech support answer "dead motherboard" I received a third item from HP and íf you are following me then yes it died again. what happened to HP? I remember the days that they sold solid good quality high tech devices, I guess that trying to catch up with technology has obligated them to sell stuff that they cannot test and let the customers pay the price. I recommend that you look elsewhere for an item like this, I am going now to switch to Apple. they make more reliable products.
