- A true "snap shot" of a past era. Interesting to see the evolution of an artist and his art. I played "King Tut" (track #10) on the way to the exhibition at LACMA both funny and enlightening. Well excuuuuuuse meeeeee ese!
- For any who want to see Steve Martin at his rocketing beginnings (when some of us thought he would ONLY be a standup comic) this is a great companion piece to "Let's Get Small." Though that cd sounds like a club date, this has some material not used on that first cd, along with live "stadium" stuff that Martin did following the first cd.
I actually saw him opening night at the Universal Amphetheater, with opening band THE BLUES BROS. - whose "Briefcase Full of Blues" was recorded later that week at these string of shows.
Funny stuff here, some of it dated, but if you were a fan at the time, or if you never heard Martin stand up you will like this. "King Tut" is great and should never be forgotten...it is worth the price of this cd alone!
- What a wild and crazy guy! What is really nice about Steve Martin is that he is funny without being vulgar and charms with his enthusiasm. As an artist and a person, he hasn't grown into cocaine or freebasing, but into a person most people would find talented and level headed. He has done the things that many comedians dream to do, stand up, movies, TV and writes books. He is not the greatest comedian who ever lived or among the greatest but might make a big impact by steadly growing as an artist and not crashing and burning into flames. This album is a classic of Stever Martin during his stand-up and Saturday Night Live days. He was there when it was new and great and so was he. He still is very good and reliable.
- His writings have always been the best to me. I love this little book and am sure you will too.
- Every time I listen to this CD I just laugh my buns off. I see him in my mind performing and the enjoyment is sky high. If you enjoy Steve Martin's brand of humor as much as I do, you must own this CD.

- One of his best. Need the lyrics translated from the Italian to the English inside the casing next time. Nonetheless, Mr. Bocelli has a beautiful voice. It made my wife and all my female co-workers swoon when they listened to it.
- If you like soft music that make's you feel up beat, just order a Andrea Bocelli CD. Listening to his CD's after being at work all day, is like having an option in life to hear and be somewhere else.
- BEFORE I START, LET ME SAY, THAT I AM A DANCE CLUB GUY AND THAT, ORDINARILY, THIS IS NOT MY KIND OF MUSIC. OF COURSE, I LAUGH AS I SAY THAT, AS, APPARENTLY, A NEW DOOR HAS OPENED IN MY LIFE, THANKS TO THIS MAN.
A FEW YEARS AGO I HAD HEARD ANDREA DO, "CON TE PARTIRO," ON A PBS SPECIAL AND MY EYES FILLED WITH TEARS THAT ANY HUMAN COULD MAKE SUCH SOUNDS. I WAS ASTOUNDED; MORE ASTOUNDING, STILL, WAS TO HEAR THIS ALBUM AND FIND THAT HIS VOICE HAD ACTUALLY VASTLY IMPOVED OVER TIME. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? " CON TE..," PALES IN COMPARISON TO THE QUALITY OF THIS WORK; THE TRACKS ON THIS CD ARE PERFECT, FULL, RICH, AND MORE MOVING THAN ANYTHING I HAVE EVER HEARD. I HAVE HAD IT A WEEK, NOW, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING ELSE FOR VERY LONG, AND I PLAY IT OVER AND OVER. IT HAS BEEN MANY YEARS SINCE I HAVE BEEN AFFECTED LIKE THIS BY ANY VOCAL CD. IF HE NEVER RECORDED AGAIN HE WOULD HAVE MADE A MARK ON THE WORLD OF AUDIO NEVER TO BE ERASED OR FORGOTTEN. WHAT A VOICE! WHAT SONGS! THE CUT, "LIBERTA," ABSOLUTELY KILLS ME WITH FEELINGS OF JOY AND MARVEL. I HAVE EVEN TAKEN UP STUDYING ITALIAN BECAUSE OF IT.
TREAT YOURSELF, AND A GOOD FRIEND, TO THE SOUNDS ON THIS CD. SIT AND WATCH A SUNSET WITH IT ON... I MEAN NOW!
- I like the following songs:
1. Dell'Amore Non Si Sa
10. In-Canto
My favorite CD from Andrea is "Amore" which I liked every single song in it.
- After hearing Bocelli on the Today Show one morning I wondered why I had never purchased any of his CDs. I went out immediately and randomly purchased a CD and fell in love with his voice and songs. I listen to this in my car constantly and never tire of hearing the great passion in his singing.

5 comments about Sesame Street - Kids' Favorite Songs 2.
- Great video! I highly recommend this video. Just seeing the older version of Ernie in the bathtub singing "rubber ducky" makes this video worth every penny! My 9 month old is just starting to get interested in videos and he loves this video. He has even started dancing with the video and loves watching the kids!
- Again, my Grand daughter is in love with Elmo, she watches it over and over.. sings ago and learning words and putting sentences together... she's only 2! I like to watch her enjoy something so much...
- We have the first video Kids Favorite Songs, which my son just adores. I was so thrilled to find out that there was a second edition, and bought it for Christmas. It is terrible. He could care less about this video. It is not entertaining at all since they use mostly kids that can't sing, and hardly any puppets like the first one. Very dissapointed and a waste of money. Do not recommend!
- My 21-month old loves this DVD. He loves Elmo in general & I think he likes seeing other kids singing songs. They could've made it a tad longer, in my opinion. I taught him to march around when "The Ants go Marching 1 by 1" song comes on & he thinks that's really fun. He only gets bored during the lullaby so we often skip over that one. I would recommend it though. It's good clean fun and teaches them songs.
- I purchased this after my 2 yr old son kept begging to watch it after we returned it to the library. It is not all songs--there are parts with the children being interviewed, but my kids love those parts, too.

5 comments about The Who - The Kids Are Alright (Special Edition).
- This 1979 movie film really put the Who on the map - after it came out everybody was a Who fan - Keith Moon just died a year before and many kids I knew never even heard of the Who even till The Kids Are Alright came out - This led to feverish ticket sales with the 1979 tour a month or two later that eventually developed into the tradgity a the Ohio gig where many kids were killed because time magizine said this might be thier last tour etc.. So in a way this film made the Who even bigger than they were - Many Who fans never saw Kieth Moon play but in this film including myself - I would guess at least two thirds of Who fans never saw Keith live except this film - When kieth played with the band The Who played generally 2000 to 4000 seat venues except for special larger gigs like New Castle England gig which had over 100,000 kids there - and other famous super gigs - They played at the 3000 seat Capital Theater in Washington DC in 1973 during the Quadraphina Tour - it is the example of a smaller 3000 seat venue etc.. - the oval roof cement building is still there next to the DC Union Station yard - The Greatful Dead were the last band to play there in 1973 before it closed down then - the Beatles played thier first gig in America there after the TV show in 1964 after riding down on a train from New York City - The Who did do many big shows with Kieth but more people saw Kenny Jones play with them than any other drummer before or since - every show they did with him sold out in a hour or less - the gigs were at least the Arena size from 1979 to 1982 - I know it sounds stupid now but when Pete - Roger - John and Kenny hit the stage at the spectrum in 1979 the place went crazy with applause and screaming - It was like seeing the Beatles or something - Pete plugged in the Les Paul and made some tune up sounds - people went nuts etc,.. I know it was all because of this film they became superstars to kids that where only like 9 to 12 years old when Who's Next came out - definitely a new Who generation so to speak - so this is a important part of Who history for me - They sold more records than ever after Kieth died and I know this film did that for them - 20 year old kids were yelling out song names to play at the band that were already ten to 6 years old then long after they off the charts - kids would yell at John to play Whisky Man and stuff like that you know he never did it was crazy - So thats what this film means to me and when you see it again or never saw it before you'll see why they went crazy I guess - It is a pretty good Rock film even now a must have for any Hooligan at any age
- A masterpiece!!! Incredible footage, even more incredible transformation of awful visual/sound into sheer amazing picture and sound quality! Not really a concert, not really a documentary (somewhere in-between). The "live" Woodstock" footage is worth the "price of admission" in itself. The extended solo of "See Me Feel Me" will send shivers down your spine! (Don't remember it being that long in the original movie, but I guess it was.)
Opens with the Smother's Brothers Comedy Hour, where Keith Moon pays a "stage hand" $300 to overload his bass drum with 4 times the explosion force originally planned to blow up the whole stage set. It's incredible! Have not seen that TV moment in a long time!
Traces the band's incredible rise to fame, through the death of "Moonie", through Woodstock and the "Who are You" video. Tons of great songs, most played all the way through.
Second DVD has a great one on one interview with Roger, and the highlight of the whole shebang, i think is a stripped down solo bass notes (minus rest of the music) by "The OX" himself--Entwitsle doing Baba O-Reily---amazing!! Amazing!!!
- If you love the Who you will love this video. It really shows how Keith Moon was the powerhouse of the band in their early days. It also has a great clip of the Who doing "A quick one while he is away" on the Rolling Stones Circus show in the late 60's or early 70's. It is an great video.
- This DVD starts from the begining when Roger and Peter were in High School and takes you on their journey of building the band and their successes and failures. Their shakey ride to the top of the billboards. Keith Moon with his insane lifestyle and untimely death. John Entwistle's death in Vegas while "The Who" toured the U.S.. At last solidifying the friendship between Roger Daltry and Peter Townsend to a higher spiritual level of love for each other, from the memories of the past. Never before seen interviews and concert clips galore. A must have for all "Who" fans out there. ***** 5 stars
- I have a friend who watched this DVD recently one night . He suffers a bit from sleep-disorder. He says he had absolutely NO chance of sleeping after the undiluted deluge of adrenaline which is the Who on this album. It makes contemporary acts seem lifeless, over-rehearsed, calculated, calculating and inhibited.
Not these guys. Man oh Man!

5 comments about Little Shop Of Horrors (1986 Film).
- The film recording of Little Shop is the best recording of the score yet (despite missing many of the stage version's more superflous and campy ditties)The vocal arangements and orchestrations are the best and most appropriately complementary to the piece. They capture the sound, and spirit in full and with fun and excitement. The cast is superb, and Ellen Greene proved herself quite brilliant in her ability to adapt her stage performance for the small size of film. The performance of Levi Stubbs, criticized on this site, is actually the BEST interpretation and vocal performance of Audrey II to date, anywhere. It is the only performance to truly bring the role to life and is damn funny. The cuts and changes are all logical for the medium of film, and obviously approved of as they were made by Howard Ashman himself. The original off-broadway cast (yes, the show was NOT an official broadway show, therefore could not have won a tony for anyone) is the next best recording. But to those who harp on the film for cutting the stage songs, the original cast album is not the full score, and has cuts made as well. The New Broadway Cast recording, which had great potential and money behind it, is the full stage score. Yet the worst in orchestration, quality, and casting to date. Though bland enough to easily digest, it is no where close to the film's sound and energy.
- This album contains must of the song fron 1986 movie. This movie is great the music is fantastic. Unlike the on the movie the song are all unabriged on the track. The final song one the second version of the movie mean green mother from outer space for reason I don't understand was abriged for the movie. The songs running time was drasticaly cut from about 4.5 minutes on the album to about a little over 2 minutes. This originally was not the final song for the movie. When this movie was original first the last song was Don't Feed the Plants from the off brodway play. However six months after the movie was first released the whole ending sequence of the movie with Rick Morransis, Ellen Greeen. Levi Stubs and Jim Bilusie had to be shot over again due to negative audience reactions from several people who were upset and not stastified with director Frank Ozze's original first ending. As a result of the ending being modified from a sad depressing ending to a lovely romantic happy ending the song Don't feed the plants and the footage that went along with it were instantly trimed out of footage and only a small fragmet of it exist on the dealete scenes and out take portions of the dvd. However for reason I could never figure out don't feed the plants is include as the final song one the last track of the album even though it no longer exist in the current dvd and vhs formats of the movie
- This adaption of a famous Broadway play is a truly funky story with overtones of science fiction and some of the greatest music ever performed on screen. I never get tired of the soundtrack and play it often.
- I got this to replace the cassette that I left in a car I sold. Love, love, love this soundtrack! All the music is well produced & in proper order of the movie so I can see it in my head while I listen. The actor who plays the plant is so wonderful & "Mean Green Mother from Outer Space" is one of the best songs ever!
- I love this soundtrack! LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (original motion picture soundtrack)cd is great. The songs all sound like they from the 50s and 60s, that do-wop sound, but the real gems are the greek chorus girls from the movie(Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, Michelle Weeks).
The reason I didn't give 5-stars is because this cd needs to be remastered. Although it says that it's a "digital recording," the volume is really low so you have to crank it up.

5 comments about Rent (1996 Original Broadway Cast).
- Absolutely fantastic. I have the Movie Soundtrack as well but it doesn't even come close. Every song from the play is in here.
I love listening to my favorite songs which are not on the movie CD Rent (2005 Movie Soundtrack) like Christmas Bells, and Happy New Year.
These are most of the same people from the movie Rent (Widescreen Two-Disc Special Edition) just at a different point in there life.
This is a MUST have!
- It is in my personal opinion that those who blasepheme this incredible work are simply not into moderne music and would prefer to listen to screeching sopranos and tenors verbrato their way through an opera in any language other than enligsh. But for my generation, this rock opera (if you didn't catch that before buying this fabulus cd, don't blame the fans) got us involved in theatre once again. Its powerful message called one us as a population to not ignore the AIDs epidemic any more. Jonathon Larson used his favorite medium, the stage, as a platform for his stance. If one believes that Broadway is the place for happy endings and large, meaningless outbursts of songs, stay away. But if you believe in a better tomorrow and that we can't ignore this anymore, cough up the money and buy the recording of the best artists singing amazing songs written by a musical genius.
- Wow. What a wonderfully unique show! The score is brilliant and the cast is equally brilliant. This musical stands out from the rest of them. It's gritty and edgy and it's not filled with cheesy dance numbers and special effects. It's real! People can relate to it. The plot itself is beautiful, but the music blows my mind! It's without a doubt my favorite musical. I've seen it 4 times now...twice on tour and twice on Broadway. If you only know the movie, you're missing out. This album brings so much more then the movie. It's actually the reason I changed my plans and decided to go into theatre. It's definatly a must-have for any musical fan out there! It is different from, it takes risks, but the effect is glorious. I'm still dazzled by it and I must have listened to it at least 100 times by now.
- Announced today, June 1st will be the final show for this production. I have to tell you, this show, even after 12 years, still hits home and is as entertaining as ever. This album is amazing, but on stage it's mesmerizing. If you haven't seen it, make a trip to NY just to see. You can get great seats as the theater is small and even nose bleeds are good seats. I just brought my 29 year old friend and her 22 year old sister to see it last Sat (1/10/2008) and they fell in love with it.
Seriously, don't miss it! There is no day but today people!
- Rent launched the careers of Daphne Rubin Vega, Anthony Rapp, Taye Diggs, and (perhaps most popularly) Jesse L. Martin, of Law & Order fame. Sure he's a tough cop, but when you hear him sing "I'll Cover You" you realize exactly why it is that so many actors and actresses say their first love is the theater. Martin is so much more than some cog in Dick Wolf's Law and Order machine. He has a voice that can bowl you over.
The movie didn't bowl audiences over. (We won't blame that on the replacement of Vega with Rosario Dawson *cough* Idiots! *cough*) Seasons of Love, and Stevie Wonder, how can you go wrong there?
Especially when one takes the time to read the story of Jonathan Larson, as told by brilliant writer David Lipsky. "525,600 minutes--how do you measure a year in the life?" Larson was a man so in love with his craft that he basically worked himself to death in order to leave the world this beautiful, amazing legacy of song, of love, of heart. It is a MUST-HAVE CD!

5 comments about Barney - Let's Play School.
- I was very pleased this item arrived so swiftly. My grandson so loves this tape I hope to order him more from this seller because I loved how quickly this seller sent my purchase.
- I bought this for my 2 1/2 year who has alot of other Barney videos and this one is the best. I personally don't like watching Barney but both of kids do. I have to say "lets play school" is the most educational and that's what's most important. They go over shapes, colors, abc's and my toddler really participates and follows along. This video definitley makes learning fun. Even my 8 yr old watches it. She says it the only Barney video she likes since she has outgrown the rest. :)
- I bought this DVD because my 3 year old is starting preschool. It has lots of singing and dancing but could focus more on the actual things that my son should expect to do in school. My son is convinced that his school will have a giant, multi-shaped bubble blower now! It's a fun DVD but doesn't help very much to prepare kids for school.
- I gave this to my grandaughter for Christmas and she loves it!
Easy to order and beats going into crowded stores during holiday crunch.
Thanks for being there.
- This really is a wonderful DVD that hits all the basics of preschool education such as discriminating between colors and shapes, learning to count, recognizing letters, etc. My one criticism is that it presents a world so idealized that few children will be able to relate to it. No one except Baby Bop for a few seconds has a problem, no one stops smiling. It's relentlessly cheerful to the point that you wonder if the producers have ever read any child psychology that discusses that huge and immense fears and aggressive urges that children have to learn to master. Fairy tales like Grimms have captivated children for centuries--why do the producers of this Barney video think that they must extract all negativity to only present the sunny side of life. I'm not saying I want a gloomy Barney but this video is so over the top happy that it is essentially a fantasy world not having much connection to any school its child viewers will ever encounter. Nevertheless, I give it 5 stars because despite this flaw, it has a lot going for it, and when viewed in the context of other DVDs like Mr. Rogers (who definitely deals with anger, fear, etc.) it all balances out. Nevertheless, if you're going to go with Barney, I would recommend the Rhyme Time DVD, which, by the way, also includes a section of numbers and the alphabet.

5 comments about The Adventures of Pete & Pete - Season 1.
- i love pete and pete..i mean they dont really put the episodes in order because one has the older pete as a little younger then the next one hes older and wanting to date his pal-but whatever cuz the 2 episodes i really remember--the garage door( i think) and the clothing inspector were on it and i was happy:D p.s. im adding this same review to the other set--:P
BRING OUT THE THIRD SEASON!!!!!!
- I grew up on these episodes, so I was glad when they finally came out with the series on DVD. Now that I'm 27 and look back, I see very subtle adult humor I hadn't caught when I was a child. This makes it entertaining for both kids and adults. I love the special guests too. Iggy Pop? Steve Bushimi? Nicely done.
- i was very pleased with this product and the seller. The dvds were in great condition and they were delivered to me very quickly. I would definitely buy from this person again.
- I love that Nickelodeon has released seasons 1 & 2 of "Pete and Pete." Now I just wish they'd release season 3! These DVDs are great and every few months I bring them out and watch all the episodes.
- This show was so awesome, it showed real looking people, not just the beautiful people, doing the things that every kid wanted to do. Awesome background music and some of the best t.v. I've ever seen to this day. If you ever watched this show you know how good it is and this collection contains some of the best episodes of the whole show (if you ask me they were all equally as good).
This is a show for the whole family both the kids and adults, you never have to worry about it containing things that are too racey and it never gets boring, repetitive, and annoying like most childrens shows. Do yourself a favor and pick up this awesomely hysterical show on DVD.

5 comments about The Prince Of Egypt: Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
- This is a beautiful soundtrack of a beautiful animated movie.
It opens with the rich melodic voice of Mariah Carey and the symphonic vocals of Whitney Houston singing When You Believe.
But even better is the version of When You Believe sung by Michelle Pfeiffer and Sally Dworsky (Track 14). Most beautiful was the lovely voices of the blessed Israeli children who sung an exquisite melody in Hebrew during the middle of Track 14.
When you Believe is a beautiful inspring hope-filled song.
Following on is Deliver Us, with it's operatic overtures and the voice of the exquisite nightingale of Israel, Ofra Haza (MHDSRIP). It also includes talented young actress Eden Riegel singing the song of hope blessing her baby brother
Ofra Haza's beautiful voice also shines through in Goodbye Brother.
I liked the uplifting Middle Eastern style Through Heaven's Eyes by Brian Stokes Mitchell, less so the contemporized R& B version sung by K-Ci and Jojo.
There is the operatic dialogue of The Plagues sung by Ralph Fiennes and Amick Bryam, which is quite memorable.
This is beautiful music and even if you don't like soundtracks this album is quite incredible.
- Absolutely wonderful. One of my favorite movies, too! Great music. I love listing to the songs exactly as they were in the movie instead of having to buy contemporary singers' versions on itunes. Great cultural experience, too. I'm learning Hebrew, so I love the Hebrew parts of the songs (even thought there's only about 2).
- This is my second time purchasing this CD after my 1st was stolen. It is a must have for my CD/Soundtracks collection. The sound dynamics and emotion put into the music and lyrics still give me goosebumps when I listen to it. I'm very glad to have this CD back in my collection.
- I loved this movie, I love the story of Moses and Ramses! The music is slamming on all accounts, cultural and R&B.
- This was a very beautiful soundtrack. I'm a huge fan of Hans Zimmer so I absolutely loved the score to most of the songs. I could have done just fine without tracks 16 and 18, not the best songs in the soundtrack in my most humble opinion. Otherwise it's really wonderful to listen to.

5 comments about Michael Jackson - Video Greatest Hits - HIStory.
- HIStory: Video Greatest Hits is a fantastic DVD including many of Michael Jackson's greatest music videos. This is a perfect collection for die-hard fans and casual listeners alike. Each clip is consistently high quality. The DVD contains all three classic videos from "Thriller," including the phenomenal 14-minute short film for the title track. Among other excellent cuts are the long versions of "Bad" and "The Way You Make Me Feel," and the celebrity-loaded Egyptian fantasy of "Remember the Time." Brimming with extraordinary dancing, this DVD is a visual extravaganza that should earn the respect of any viewer. This is why he's called "The King of Pop."
Unlike some reviewers, I think the overall sound and image quality here is excellent - DVD quality at its best. Remember, some of these videos are almost 30 years old. Fans will not be disappointed.
- This is an awasome collection of Michael's videos, each one is so gratefully done, contains: Thriller, Black and White, Billy Jean etc. every song confirms the talent of the king of pop.
- I ordered this DVD for my 4 year old nephew who is a huge "MJ" fan!!!! The DVD is great and contains all his hits and extended versions of I'm Bad and Thriller.
- Michael Jackson is king and this is very good evidence of that fact. It's cool because it's got the long versions of Bad, The Way You Make Me Feel and Black and White. But the coup de gras is certainly the follow-up to this; HiStory Vol. 2, as it has all the videos from the HiStory sessions (ie. Earth Song, They Don't Care About Us, Stranger In Moscow, Childhood, You Are Not Alone) as well as the Blood on the Dance Floor video. You can't lose with either of these DVDs though. He's an amazing talent.
- This is a fun DVD to get that has all of the great, and a few of the weird, Michael Jackson videos. The Scene Selection view doesn't list all of the videos, but just so you know, Thriller is on there -- immediately following the Bad video. The DVD quality is not very good. For most videos it has a dotted white line at the top of the screen. But if you're buying to remember a time Michael Jackson was a fun/interesting artist with definiltey the BEST music video in history (Thriller), then its worth the money. Don't expect high quality, but do expect some fun.
