1. I'm grateful to the powers that be regarding the decision making to finally put a classic like this on CD. In my childhood days I owned this in LP record format which I purchased from a used record shop for .50 cents. It was in such poor condition the spine of the album cover had a piece of electrical tape holding it together. Nevertheless, I played it countless times and no doubt the stylus on the stereo was screaming for mercy. And now it's available with the obvious pristeen crystal clear recording. It takes me back to the day in first class. Bill is truly funny and proof that you can be without all the gratuitous swearing.



2. This is an all-time classic. I can't write enough good things about this man's work. I have loved almost everything I have seen (and heard) this man do. This is some of his earlier stuff. I could listen to it all day!
   
   Bill Cosby talks about everyday stuff and brings out the humor in it. What most people see as the most mundane things, Bill can talk about and have you rolling on the floor, convulsed in laughter. Like most of Bill's stuff, (with a few exceptions), it is also very clean--ESPECIALLY by today's miserably low standards.
   
   In this volume, Bill takes on everything from kindergarten to junior high shop class and college-level dating and philosophy. Highly recommendable!



3. Heard this in the original...still spot-on. Just got copies for my sons in their 20's



4. My son loved his Christmas gift. I originally had this as a record; time to upgrade. A classic that never gets stale or goes out of style.



5. Another great cd from Bill Cosby. I mentioned in another review that we had owned all of Bill's 78's back in the day but unfortunately, we lost them in one of our moves. How thrilled we were when we found them on Amazon. Best part, the cd's were used and are in great condition. We felt we had found the "Mother Lode."

1. This was one of my first Bill Cosby albums. Great stuff then, and great stuff now.



2. How do you describe this talented man? I think one of the best stand up comedys ever. The "Tonsils" was great, the little boys waiting for ice cream. Cosby's way of taking something that has touched everyone and make you cry with laughter as he tell the story. I can close my eyes and watch the "go carts" race.



3. We had all of Bill Cosby's 78's back in the day but lost them in one of our moves. I was delighted to find them on cd and to get such great quality used. He is the best!



4. This brought back many memories. My brothers and I use to listen to my parenst vinal copy of this. Chicken Heart will always make me laugh. Good clean humor, fun for all ages and timeless.



5. Classic Bill Cosby, grew up listening to this routine. I bought it for my dad to replace his record. Funny, funny stuff..,..

1. Best Movie Album out in the last Year!!!
   
   Great rendition of the Association's classic "Never My Love" done by Har Mar Superstar.



2. The movie is timeless and very entertaining. The soundtrack is nicely put-together but where is "No Surprises" by Radiohead (played after the swimming pool scene)? I have to knock-out one star for this reason. Drew Barrymore having to do with the music as well as a fine job directing the movie puts this CD over-the-top. Having all these music in one compilation brings back the movie and all the nice feelings around it. Very nice indeed.



3. This soundtrack caught my ear initially when I saw the movie, of course! I had to buy it to listen to some of the tracks in their entirety. Most of the music is very upbeat and I listen to them while I jog on my Ipod. If you liked the movie, you'll undoubtedly like the soundtrack.



4. Just an overall great soundtrack. Goes well with the movie and it's awesome! Love it!!!



5. Fantastic soundtrack. It got me back into music when I thought teeny bop top forty music all that was left. It's old school rock.

1. A friend told me about this movie. I watched it and absolutely love it. It's about a guy who's dream is to be like his hero, "the lead singer in the band Steel Dragon). When his dream comes true he becomes the new lead singer for Steel Dragon, replacing his hero. The movie kicks butt and the songs are great! So I bought the sound track.



2. This is a good CD but only like a few songs on it! But if you loved the songs on the movie you'll like this CD.

When the movie Rock Star came out I looked for the soundtrack but couln't not find one and I know it's been years since the movie came out I still wanted the soundtrack, I finally one day looked on Amazon.com and there was the CD that I wanted and it wasn't a bad price and the shipping wasn't bad either,so I went ahead and ordered it, let's just say I was impressed with the speed that I got my CD, and it was wrapped great too to keep it from getting damaged during mailing. I have played that CD alot since I got it. It's great. Thank you so much to the people who work through Amazon.com for the customers you Rock.



4. Well, this was a present for my husband. But I have to admit, I liked it too. We both really liked the movie and the songs as well.



5. A fun movie (who didn't want to be a rock star as a kid?) with great catchy tunes. The recording is good and all in my family are enjoying it. Recommended.

1. I've loved this commedian since I saw him on HBO ages ago. Finally, tired of watching my recorded VHS of him--I broke down and started my DVD collection.
   
   He's witty and his comedy is truly unique among those out there today.
   Highly recommended!



2. I love Eddie Izzard and have gotten all of my friends to love him too. Dress to Kill is hilarious and smart. I have watched this over 10 times and it's still funny.



3. Eddie Izzard is a favorite of mine and this is some of his best material, I think ("cake or death?", "Do you have a flag?"). When I need a good laugh, I pop this in the player. I always feel better after watching it.



4. As a new comer in the Eddie Izzard world, I had to admit, I was quite happy with the results of this DVD. Hilariously funny and catchy british humor nearly sent me of my chair laughing. I would recommend this to anyone that needs to enjoy a stretch of gut wrenching laughter. Oh, and by the way, he brought a flag.



5. Eddie Izzard is my favorite performer - I was going to say "comedian", but he is way beyond that! He's educated - or is it just that he's from "the place where the history comes from" - and although his comedy certainly contains the f- word, it is so much less offensive when he says it that I brought this in to show my Latin 4 class. One of them borrowed it to show his parents and they loved it!
   If you are not yet familiar with E.I., you are missing something - try this!
   If you are already an E.I fan, I think this is his best!

1. I've really enjoyed his movies (especially the recent ones) and the stand-up I've seen on TV.
   
   But he was really obnoxious in this video... I didn't even watch the last ten minutes because I wasn't laughing at all. He picked on one guy in the audience really hard the entire time who obviously didn't take it very well, and insulted the audience repeatedly to the point of being awkward. And to be honest, even aside from that, his speech delivery was off and the jokes just weren't very funny. Maybe the pressure is getting to him? I just never had such a bad impression of him before, but this performance has almost completely ruined any draw I had to him and his work. Not at all like what I've seen of him previously.
   
   Buy/rent The Hangover or Visioneers instead.



2. Zach is the best comedian in the game today. His awkward style of delivery is a thing of beauty.



3. if you have any shred of intelligence.. you will love this.

5. This is NOT the Comedy Central performance... I was mistaken when I purchased this DVD. It was funny however, but was treated more like a documentary than stand-up comedy. I think the documentary part was lame, but the bits that was Jeff doing his thing was funny. Be warned before spending the money on this DVD, try renting it first.

1. If the movie left you wanting to smash your head into the chair in front of you (like it did with me), you may be pleasantly surprised with the soundtrack. Whereas the film had me throwing my skull into the nearest solid object, this collection of music slowed that forceful trajectory and kind of turned it into something more like a subtle groove.
   
   Nothing on here will find its way to the top of your favorite music list--fear not--but the two Taylor Swift tracks are certainly worth the price of admission (yes, she sings far better than she acts), and who doesn't love a little Willie Nelson?
   
   Ultimately, let's just say that the soundtrack is the one upside that came from this otherwise dreadful collaboration of actor/actresses.



2. I bought this album because I loved the movie.........Now I think I may love the soundtrack more!!! so many great songs and a wonderful mix of artists.



3. Some of the songs on here I would never typically listen to, but I have had this soundtrack playing non stop since I saw the movie 2 weeks ago. I Loved the movie and now I love the soundtrack.

5 comments about Glee: The Music, Volume 1.

1. Journey's hit song, "Don't Stop Believing," was the last song played in the final scene of the Soprano series. Here, the kids at the fictional high school in Lima, Ohio sing the songs that are classics at least to me. Let's face it, my tastes are not geared towards the popular music of today but of the 1980s. This soundtrack surprised me that the Glee cast can actually sing these songs and their taste is similar to mine. I don't watch the series much but enjoy Jane Lynch as the crazed determined enemy of the glee club. I don't think she sings here but she's the star of that show. Anyway, I think those Glee fans will love this soundtrack one and two.
   
   My only complaint about this compact disc was that I had to type in the info on my computer before it imported the songs. That's annoying task and I didn't know who the singers were for each song. Apart from that, it's smooth sailing.



2. The soundtrack and the show are like a breath of fresh air. I love the music, and the cast is excellent! Love it!



3. Las covers son muy parecidos a sus versiones originales. Si bien suenan bien, no son muy novedosas las versiones.



4. I would love to review this CD but unfortunately it is now 6 weeks since I ordered it and still no sign of it!!! - I know its being posted from the USA but come on, after paying £8s worth of postage I would expect it to show before now



5. If you love glee - you'll love this album! Pick up Volume 2 as well.

3. I really love the show, and this soundtrack is just another example of how talented this cast is. The songs are amazing! I just love listening to them.



4. I don't think there are as many good songs as on Disc 1, however still some good songs, 'Imagaine' 'True Colors' and their sectional songs.



5. There wasn't enough room on one album to contain the music renderings from the cast of GLEE and just weeks before the show's midseason hiatus, GLEE: THE MUSIC VOLUME 2 was released. Being somewhat of a Gleek, I really don't enjoy saying this, but VOLUME 2 isn't as good an overall album as VOLUME 1. The songs on the album are from the 2nd quarter of the 1st season of GLEE. The tunes include:

   2. Endless Love
   3. I'll Stand By You
   4. Don't Stand So Close To Me/Young Girl
   5. Crush
   6. (You're) Having My Baby
   7. Lean On Me

   I really liked over half of the songs on GLEE: THE MUSIC VOL. 1. There are only a handful of songs on VOL. 2 that I thoroughly enjoy. The ones that are most memorable are "Don't Stand So Close To Me/Young Girl" (it's the first smash-up from the show to be featured on an album), "Lean On Me", "True Colors", "Jump", "Don't Rain On My Parade", "You Can't Always Get What You Want", and "My Life Would Suck Without You." Of these the songs that are a must listen-to are "Jump" and "You Can't Always Get What You Want". Van Halen and the Rolling Stones made these numbers, but the cast of Glee has transformed them into songs almost as powerful and memorable as the originals.
   
   Though it's not as good as the VOL. 1, GLEE: THE MUSIC VOL. 2 is still a good album and one that Gleeks will want to own. It also has appeal to those who have a varied taste or appreciation in music.
