  1. Having only recently acquired this score(from Amazon)and being a big James Horner fan I was thrilled to hear it is Horner at his best.A wonderful main theme is played in the first track followed by a series of beautiful pieces comprised mainly of piano solos performed by Horner himself. An absolute must for James Horner fans.

  2. Anyone who loves James Horner will fall in love with this soundtrack. The quite intimacy and warm setimentality are vintage Horner. Indeed, it would be safe to say that some of the exquisite motifs in this soundtrack--particularly the melodies played by the oboe in several tracks--are a prefiguring of the delicate themes Horner developed in Titanic.

  3. One of Horner's best -- this score seems often overlooked by fans of his compositions.

It's airy and subtle, perfectly echoing the gentle ghost story set by the seaside.

    Highly recommended.

  4. this album is so beautiful thats its hard not to get choked up a liite everytime you hear it.this and the spitfire grill sountrack are proof that horner can be completly originale and not copy himself at all.its a must have

  5. Being a film score collector for almost a decade, I have listened to almost every single score composed by James Horner. The first time I heard the score of To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday, I wasn't quite impressed actually; "It sounds just like another 'My heart will go on'". But after listening to it several times, the magic begins to come alive. The main theme is filled with so much emotions, but not overwhelmingly extravagant like the Titanic theme. Hence the reason this score can create this aura of blitheness which Titanic cannot deliver. It can lighten up a dark room without making a serious statement. This score has such a good flow that you would think all the tracks are linked together without a pause. James Horner utilizes piano and strings predominantly throughout the soundtrack, which is reminiscent of "The Ludlows" from Legends of the Fall - best score ever composed by James Horner in my opinion.

You would only be disappointed by the early departure of such a lovely score. This soundtrack is highly recommended to those who enjoy the film, who are searching for the perfect casual background music, or just simply like to try another great piece by James Horner. The other sad news is that this soundtrack is out of print.

  1. To the many fans that are familiar with the 2nd generation of Prinze name.
The first generation Prinze started out his career by doing comedy routines all over the world and how he went about the routines and some of his thoughts and ideas of the world are expressed on this CD, although he did do the Chico & the Man series and that was his highlight moment(Career), He also did One TV movie (The Million Dollar Rip-Off) in which was the only movie, but was his intentions to move onto this career as a 2nd career choice, along Comedy his love. If fans want to know the first generation of Prinze this is an excellent place to start.
DEBORAH ELLIOTT - Prinze Sr. was my mentor and I say it proudly.

  2. I had this CD ordered for my birthday last year, and I have to admit it was one of the funniest comedy albums I had ever listened to in my life. Freddie Prinze was somebody that could have made it far in life as a comic, but personal problems and drug use destroyed his life way too soon. The man was the self proclaimed "Hunga Rican", and his ethnic jokes about himself and the "friends" he hung out with were classic comedy. Much like Don Rickles, he tried to make a statement about his race with his comedy and try to make light of all the real problems of the day. He also tried to show that "everybody was really the same" with his jokes. His jokes might been about him and his life, but many of us could relate. He was one of the best. His son could never be this good, and I am not knocking his son either.

If you are a fan of the "Chico and the Man" series, or a fan of ethnic humor comedy (Don Rickles, Richard Pryor, etc.), then his album is for you.

  3. WHAT A RARE GEM!I WAS A FAN OF "CHICO AND THE MAN" WHEN FREDDIE WAS STILL ALIVE. (I WAS 7 1/2 WHEN HE DIED, AND KEPT ASKING MY PARENTS WHY HE SHOT HIMSELF, AND WHY HE DIDN'T CALL THE DOCTOR.) RECENTLY, T.V. LAND RERAN THE SHOW. I DIDN'T KNOW THIS ALBUM EXISTED, BUT WHEN I LOOKED PRINZE SR. UP ON THE INTERNET AND DISCOVERED IT, I ORDERED IT IMMEDIATELY! I'M SO GLAD I DID! FREDDIE PRINZE WAS A COMIC GENIUS AND A NATIONAL DISCOVERY! THIS ALBUM SHOWCASES HIS HUMOR AND TALENT AS A PERFORMER! HIS HUMOR ISN'T CREUL OR INSULTING TO ANYONE EITHER. IT'S JUST HIS OBSERVATIONS AND STORIES ABOUT HIS AND OTHER CULTURES. THERE'S ALSO NOT A SINGLE CURSE WORD ON HERE, EITHER, AND THAT'S RARE! I LOVE PEOPLE SUCH AS RICHARD PRYOR AND GEORGE CARLIN, BUT SINCE THEIR GROUND-BREAKING HUMOR CAUGHT ON, HARDLY ANY COMEDIANS ARE "CLEAN", EXCEPT MAYBE BILL COSBY. WELL, WITH "LOOKING GOOD", YOU CAN PLAY IT EVEN IN FRONT OF KIDS AND REST ASSURED THEY WON'T HEAR ANYTHING INAPPROPRIATE! FOR ANY FANS OF FREDDIE PRINZE, OR ANYONE WANTING TO DISCOVER HIM, CHECK OUT THIS ALBUM! IT'LL GIVE YOU AN INSIGHT TO WHERE HIS SON GOT HIS GREAT TALENT!
ONE MORE THING INTERESTING, PRINZE IS NOT FREDDIE'S GIVEN NAME. ACCORDING TO DAVID BRENNER, HE WANTED TO BE THE KING OF COMEDY. ALAN KING TOOK KING, SO HE SAID HE'D BE THE PRINCE OF COMEDY. PRINCE WASN'T QUITE HIP ENOUGH, SO HE CHANGED THE C TO A Z - FREDDIE PRINZE.

  4. As a first generation fan of Freddie, I watched Chico and the Man when it first aired. I can remember purchasing this on vinyl when it first came out, and have kept it after all these years. It's great to have it on CD. Freddie was an excellent comedian, and I would highly recommend this CD. It is observational comedy with an ethnic twist. If you are hyper sensitive and extremely politically correct, maybe you won't find the ethnic humor very funny. But things were different in the 70's and I find nothing wrong in the way in which this was done. Freddie was very funny and didn't say anything inappropriate as far as I'm concerned. He is missed by lots of fans. Now I wish they would put out complete seasons of Chico and the Man!!

  5. I have this on album (remember them?). I was just a kid when I discovered Freddie Prinze and loved every little thing he did, which makes my review a bit jaded.

His comedy might be considered a little off by todays PC standards, but he had talent and made people laugh. Listening to this cd brought back memories of seeing him live (in elementary school, no less).

For those who wonder where Freddie Prinze "JR" comes from, this is a good lesson. Also, you could pick up the "Chico and The Man" DVD for a little more insight.

  1. Well, the movie isn't the best I've ever seen, but the soundtrack is fantastic. This was the c.d. that converted me to listen to alternative music, instead of country, which I used to love, but now detest. The song "Summer Breeze" is perhaps the best song on the album. I cant give the movie much credit though, it was o.k. for a teen slasher flick, but was a little lame in parts. However, whether or not you liked the movie doesnt matter, the soundtrack is excellent. Some of the artists on this album are not widely known, but provide some of the best songs on the c.d. If you are a true fan of the alternative music genre, or even the metal genre, this c.d. is a must have. Go buy it today!

  2. I finally bought this soundtrack after wanting it for many years. I really enjoyed the music from the film and this CD is full of nearly every song from it, except a couple including "Forgotten Too" by Ugly Beauty, which was one of the main reasons I bought it, but I am still satisfied with the majority of the album. My favourites are "Summer Breeze" -Type o Negative, "Hooverphonic" -2Wicky and "One Hundred Days" -Flick. I'm not entirely used to the CD yet so I won't judge any of the songs badly. I'd say if you enjoyed the film you should buy the Album.

  3. This album is VERY good! When I watched the movie, I had to go and buy the music right afterwards. I love this soundtrack and would recommend it to anyone!

  4. "2 Wicky" by Hooverphonic is the an amazing song, so go download it, and don't spend the money on the entire CD. "Hey Bulldog" is a great song, but only the original version by The Beatles, not the lackluster cover on this album. The rest of the songs on this CD are crap.

  5. Ok, so the movie was almost hated by everyone except for a choice few... me being one of them, but even if you dont like the movie you should pick up the soundtrack. The songs on this cd are great. My faves are The Din Pedals "Waterfall" this song is absoulutely beautiful, Our Lady Peace "Clumsy" Great Band, Great Song. Kula Shaker "Hush" This song just rocks, Type O Negative "Summer Breeze" Really cool remake of this song! Hooverphonic "2Wicky" this one is so awesome. All the songs are really well rounded but I think the best song on there is Adam Cohen "Don't Mean Anything" it is so dark and beautiful, has a malancholy feel its so haunting.... but great. Either way this cd is one of my favorite soundtracks of all time!!!

  1. This is a very good soundtrack, and "Blue Monday" by Orgy is an awesome song, and "Hey Now Now" by Swirl 360 always puts me in a good mood. I love Jennifer Love Hewitt's "How Do I Deal." I don't remember "Try To Say Goodbye" by Jory Eve being in the film, but it's a nice, soft soothing song. This soundtrack is totally awesome, and I would recommend it to anyone. You won't be disappointed.

  2. I love all the songs on the soundtrack...especially my favorite one which is "Gorecki Lamb" The background music, and the drum beats are really nice...and I like the words too. The entire CD is great...and I recommend it to everybody who likes rock and a little bit of techno, and R&B...Go out and buy it, I'm telling you, you'll be happy if you do.
God Bless America...! I LUV NY! I will never forget September 11th.
    ~Sue (NY)

  3. I bought this soundtrack for the wonderful Jennifer Love Hewitt song.I was actually rather surprised when I listened to the CD the whole way through.I love practically every song that is on here. The song puts out a mixture of pop, rock, and r+b and it all blends togther very nicely.Though it's not the typical music that you would here in a horror film, the soundtrack is still a pleasant surprise with great songs from great artists.A must have.Even if you didn't like the movie very much, you should still give the soundtrack a try.

  4. Ok i love this cd, i put it in all the time. Usually i get sick of a cd after awhile and listen to something else, but this cd is contantly in my cd player. THere is such a varity of music. For ex: songs 1,3-5 and nine have that fun, adventurous rebel feels to them. Number three is just plain fun. Number nine has that r&b feel and five...is well orgy. My fave part of the cd is the other songs, yeah the other ones are great but I love this cd for its emotional impact it makes on me. number seven is amazing its one of those songs that if you are going through a tough relationship time, you can relate so much. number 10 is one of those impowering songs, when I hear it i invision a woman who was beat by her lover and shes telling him, " well whos getting scared now, tell me how does it feel?" I also like number eight, overall if you dont have this cd you are missing out because a great cd is hard to find and this one is better overall than the rest

  5. I would recommend this CD ... it is worth buying rather than burning. It's a good use for money. I enjoyed most of the songs on the CD and listen to it much.

  1. This is a very poorly done movie. It is a poorly disguised copy of Finding Nemo, and is one of those political "The Humans are so Terrible and are Destroying the Earth" movies trying to falsely show how bad the human race is, and that all we do is destroy. This was a terrible movie that we shut off after about 30 minutes. Buy Finding Nemo and skip this B-rated (or C-rated) knock-off. This was a complete waste of money.

  2. My child (2 years old) absolutely loves this movie. The dialog is funny and entertaining and also enjoyable for adults to watch, like myself. I would recommend this movie to those looking for a funny entertaining movie. I often get disappointed with the movies that get marketed, that turn out to be an enhanced production of big stars and lousy dialog, with only shock value to keep you from going to sleep. We happened to stumble accross this movie at blockbuster, and rented it and both my daughter and I loved it. Try it, your kids will love it too. I promise!

  3. This was one of the worst cartoons I have ever seen. It was so close to Barney in annoyance that I wanted to drag it behind my car on fire. I cannot imagine how this won a award with the mix of FINDING NEMO and NINJA TURTLES. I am sure that the grief is not worth the time or money!

  4. Short Attention Span Summary (SASS)

    1. Boy fish meets girl fish
    2. Bigger boy fish has his lateral eyes on the same girl fish
    3. Boy fishes compete to win girl fish's fin in marriage
    4. You already know how this is going to end

You'll get a strong feeling of déjà vu when watching this movie. Not only are the underwater locations familiar, especially the reef, the ocean current and the shipwreck, but the characters also, like the shark, the turtle, the jellyfish, the shrimp, the pelican, the starfish and the "henchmen". There's even a bit of "The Karate Kid" in there when a wise old ninja turtle helps out the underdogfish.

You'll also find that the majority of the scenes have been done before in other movies, and better. Taken on its own it's an average kids' movie, but the "borrowing" is so blatant that it's impossible to classify it as an original movie.

You've seen most of this before in Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid and Shark Tale, so no need to waste money on this one. Let the kids catch it on cable if they want to.

    Amanda Richards, March 22, 2008

  5. The was the first film which made my 2 year-old cry. At the begining of the film you meet the parents in the sludge of Boston, talking about moving to the reef. Then the net comes and gets all of them, mother, father, and child. The child escapes but the mother and father are dragged away in the net leaving the child crying "mom, dad..." and then he is sad for for a while while traveling to the reef with a bunch of porpoises. Seeing the parents carried off was too visual with crying out over and over, and didn't have to be part of the film at all. How about the parent decide to move and they all go there? It wouldn't have changed the rest off the movie at all. My 12 year-old, husband, and I didn't like that they had to put this strife in and it, and in a really upsetting way. It didn't seem to fit with the rest of the film other than traveling with the porpoises but they all could have traveled with the porpoises. Later having it said that, your parents are sushi now kid, didn't help with me liking this film. Luckily this is way over most kids heads

This was not done as well as "Shark Tale" animation wise or story wise. It cannot even be compared to "Finding Nemo". The story after the parents demise was OK, and just that. Predictable but children may like it. Parent won't.
