- I LOVE this movie. When I was at school one time, I found myseld humming "United We Stand" and sometimes, "I Stand All Alone" I even sang along with "On My Father's Wings" whenever I had watched the movie!!! But I always get touched with "Looking through your eyes" came on.....I CRY!!! :')
If you are someone who LOVED the tunes played on the video, then DEFINETLY get this CD, so you can listen to the songs WHENEVER you want :D
- I recomend this CD 'cuz its somethin u wanna hear everyday and it takes alot of times to find it in regular stores. I say, if you REALLY want to listen to these songs, then this is the right one for u. Celine Dion, The Corrs, and Bryan White were my favorite singers. They did really good with this CD! :P
- I got this soundtrack last summer, which was used, so the CD case was scratched, and the frontcover was gone, and it looked ratty, if u know wat I mean. But once I listened to the soundtrack, it totally made up for the beat-up CD case!
My Rating List
1)Looking Through your eyes 6/10: Um,it was better when Kayley and Garrett sang it.I didn't like how the lyrics were changed, and the country tune kinda ruined it.
2)I Stand Alone 2/10: God, Steve Perry sounded like he was howling in pain, and that he was going to burst into tears any moment! Garrrett was WAAAAAAY better, and I didn't like the lyrics being changed in this song either.
3)The Prayer 10/10: Totally touching. Celine Dion, you deserve a cheering crowd of mothers with their children!
4)United We Stand 9/10: Awesome Irish tune. But...the singing was corny. Who cares? 2 thumbs up to the fiddler and the woodwind players!
5)On My Father's Wings 10/10: Perfect for any girl who looks up to their fathers. Andrea Corr totally put her soul into this song!
6)Looking Through Your Eyes 10/10: It was SO romantic and beautiful! I was crying because I was so touched! One of my favorites!
7)Ruber 8/10: You call that singing? Ruber was yelling almost the whole time! However, I liked the background instrumentals. I found this more satisfying than the first two songs on this soundtrack. But please, just don't bellow like that in my ears, unless if you're singing an awesome song that falls into the heavy metal/goth music genre.
8)I Stand All Alone 10/10: I LOVED THIS SONG! I loved watching Garrett go through the unique surroundings of the forbiddon forest as he sings. He has a very clear and nice voice. Try and beat that, Steve Perry!
9)If I didn't Have You 10/10: It's SO funny! However, I think peoople should see the movie before listening to this song otherwise they may not understand it.
10)Forbidden Forest/Dragon Attack: 1/10: Ho-hum. What a bore. I can't even force myself to listen to this whole song. In addition, I don't like the loud beginning. I don't recommend this song.
11)The Battle 10/10: A little more interesting than the previous song, but still a bore. Can someone please pass me a blanket? I think the sandman just came to visit me...*snores*
12)Looking THrough Your Eyes (Instrumental) 10/10: I think its really pretty. It totally sounds something you would here being played by some volunteering musicians play at a really fancy restaurant.
13)The Prayer 9/10: Really good, but why does this have a bit of the melody from "Looking THrough Your Eyes"?
This is a good soundtrack for anybody who loves the movie, Quest For Camelot! It nearly makes up for a wrecked CD case. But it was nearly a year ago when I got this, so it's not as impressive as it used to be. But 5 stars, anyway.
- This is truly a great soundtrack but the price is too high. Go to gomusic.ru and you can download it for $1.76.
- I just want to say that this soundtrack is completely awesome and it is a perfect pair to the movie. The songs are so superb. There are songs that lead you to adventure, romance, and comedy. In my opinion, looking through your eyes sung by Leann Rimes and the duet sung by the Corrs and Bryan White are the best songs on the soundtrack! It is entirely romantic and it makes me cry whenever I hear it. The singing voice of Kayley and Garret are so sweet. i wish they would make a part 2 so there would be another soundtrack. The songs will also stay in your head, and sometimes you will find yourself sining it wothout even knowing it! =) This soundtrack deserves 6 stars, not 5. Once you listen to it, you can't stop!

5 comments about Toy Story.
- Randy Newman, in addition to being an excellent singer and songwriter, delivers a great orchestral score for Toy Story. "You've Got a Friend in Me" is a great song, along with "Strange Things" and "I Will Go Sailing No More." The instrumental tracks contain a lot of variations on themes from these 3 songs played, in addition to a lot of other themes and ideas. The average person might think that scoring for an animated film would mean that the music would have to fit the scene exactly on every single move, otherwise known as mickey-mousing, done in the old Warner Bros. cartoons. However, Newman scores it as if it were a drama and just listening to the music would tell you that. There are some comedic and fun parts in the music, which hint that it is an animated film, but not like the cartoons of old. The score is overall enjoyable, light-hearted, and fun. Other parts of the score contain jazz related ideas and there is action music present in several of the cues, which Newman does an excellent job writing. A great soundtrack to own and listen to for people of all ages.
- I'm not a huge soundtrack fan but this is a good soundtrack. It has all of the vocal songs from the movie along with most of the instrumental stuff. If you liked the music in the mvie this would be a good buy.
- TOY STORY was the first feature-length motion picture that Pixar released in theatres. The movie was literally ground-breaking in what it did for animation and also included one of the best movie plots to be seen on screen that whole year (1995). In addition, there was the music. Randy Newman has been plugging out show tunes for years on end. However, with the release of the TOY STORY, Newman entered a new era. Some will disagree and others will say that TOY STORY is when Newman sold out, but with the TOY STORY soundtrack, Randy Newman's music went mainstream in a major way and became popular with a whole new audience (largely composed of children and young adults).
TOY STORY is a buddy flick and the songs and music on the album reflect that. From the wonderful "You've Got a Friend in Me" to the charming instrumental "Woody and Buzz", the music and songs of TOY STORY reflect an awareness and mentality that is often missing in movie music.
I enjoy listening to the instrumental pieces on the album, but am especially fond of the regular songs. Those songs are:
"You've Got a Friend in Me"--the song that captures the whole
buddy-theme of the movie. As a sidenote, this was one of the
most requested songs on the children's radio show I used to
produce.
"Strange Things"--a song about one's self-awakening and the
frustration felt in the goings on.
"I Will Go Sailing No More"--one of the saddest and most
haunting songs I have ever heard sung in a movie, the song is
all about the loss of a dream.
The TOY STORY album isn't for everyone. However, fans of the film and Randy Newman fans will probably enjoy it, not to mention Disney maniacs.
- i like this is the best piece of crud on the face of the world
- In November of 1995 audiences were treated to the first computer animated motion picture event: Toy Story. Many were to soon pick up a Copy of the Soundtrack to own that following Christmas. When I first heard the Score for the film 'Toy Story' it stuck with me for a bunch of years. Now I am finally able to write a review for the Score. Here is my Track-by-Track Review: (I will be only reviewing the Instrumental Pieces!)
04. Andy's Birthday: (3/5): As the opening to the Score of the Film I don't think I really expected much. For the opening it certainly doesn't start with much of a bang! Though I must say, it does get right to the idea of this piece. It's Andy's Birthday and Woody and rest of the toys are dreadfully worried!
05. Soldiers Mission: (3/5): Okay's heres the whole idea, Woody has sent the little green army men to go and see what presents Andy is getting for his birthday. This Instrumental doesn't say very much in terms of storyline presentation, but it definaly picks the Score up a little more. It is more high noted and more exciting then the previous Instrumental!
06. Presents: (5/5): WOAH! Now this one is what makes the score pick itself up. I'm not too sure on the name of the track being 'Presents' but I know that it totally captures that strong sense of panic when Woody and the rest of the Toys descover Andy is coming upstairs!
07. Buzz: (4/5): Well, the name says it all! Andy and his friends have just left and Woody has just got a new look at Andy's new toy! Buzz Lightyear! This Instrumental carries the story quite nicely. The second part of the Instrumental, the music from the 'Flying' Scene, reminds me of a Roller Coaster. By the end of this part in the Film Woody is Jealous of the new toy!
08. Sid: (5/5): Finally! We get introduced to the Villian of the film in this Instrumental Piece. Woody is busy mocking Buzz when they hear the laugh of Sid Phillips. A boy who apparently tortures toys! The Music for this scene fits quite well as an introduction to Sids character. Cruel, Rude and Punk!
09. Woody and Buzz: (4/5): The title for this Instrumental Piece fits quite well considering the Scene's it surrounds. First Woody accidently knocks Buzz out the window, next he is threatened by the toys, then meets up with Buzz at the Gas Station on the way to Pizza Planet. There is a certain tenseness concerning the bit of the Instrumental in which the toys attack Woody! Not much else to say about this Piece.
10. Mutants: (5/5): WOAH! I don't know why on earth this track is titled Mutants. The Mutant Toys dont make their Music cue until almost the end of the Piece! Anyway, Woody and Buzz are in a Claw game where you use a claw to get a prize. And guess who turns up...Sid! Sid 'Wins' them then takes them home. Soon after Woody and Buzz have a frightening confrontation with 'The Mutant Toys'! The object of Sids playtime. The Music for this whole track is pretty nice. It works well and gives off a definate wacko/horror sense, which makes scense considering the idea of the scenes.
11. Woody's Gone:(4/5): This Music Piece is calmer then the previous 'Sid's House' centred Pieces entitled 'Mutants'. Even do why this piece is entitled 'Woody's Gone' is beyond me. The music for this track begins after the Sequences at Andy's house. Whatever. Anyway, Woody and Buzz have survived one night, now they are victim to Sids cruelty. Thankfully they almost escape. But then the 'Mutants' arrive but Woody fails to be truly terrified again, and flees the room but discovers Sids Dog: Scud. Under the Circumstances this music is a preety fair accompnient to the introduction of Sid's Dog. The music is tense but not high noting tense. Besides, things are about to get worse.
12. The Big One: (5/5): Poor Woody and Buzz. Buzz has a broken arm and is trying to explain that to Andy's Toys, then Sid comes along and desides to blow Buzz up with a new rocket! Though the circumstances arn't ALL bad. Woody discovers the Mutants are not Cannibals like supposed back in Instrumental 10 'Mutants'. They fix Buzz. As an instrumental, its another panic piece. Though this time there is more at stake. Buzz's Life! Besides the music for this track is exciting and tense at the same time.
13. Home Together: ( 5/5): Well, I dont know why this track is titled 'Home Together'. Shouldn't it be 'Hang Together'. Who Knows?
This track is much like the previous one. At least the panic part is. But it has more of a marching tune to accompany the Mutants. Anyway, to get the lowdown, Woody and Buzz talk to each other, then Sid wakes up and takes Buzz to blow him up. Woody panics then enlists the help of the Mutant Toys, realising now they are not Cold hearted! The Mutants make their way outside without being noticed. Then they get ready for their showdown with Sid!
14. On the Move: (4/5): Not really one of my favorites. It is mostly a transitional track. In other words it wraps up the whole 'Sid' plot then goes right into the Climax. It works though! Anyway, Woody and the Mutants put their plan into action and terrify Sid. After a little celebration Woody and Buzz run to catch up with the moving Truck! THIS is the most dramatic scene! Will Woody and Buzz make it?
15. Infinity and Beyond: (4/5): Well this track concludes the Score for 'Toy Story'! Woody and Buzz use the rocked Sid strabbed to Buzz to catch up with the Van and land in the box beside Andy! A Happy Ending, as usual. As an insrumental piece it is very UPLIFTING and soars high with its high notes which, unlike the ones occuring during the 'SID' sequences (10-14) are not ones of horror. Otherwise a good piece.
As a complete Score Randy Newman does an excellent job of leaping from Joy to fear to bittersweet tears. This is by far my favorite score for a Disney/Pixar film. I highly reccomend it!

- My son is a fan of lelo schfris (and so am I) and he was thoughly delighted with this CD
- I have always been a big fan of Clint Eastwood and Lalo Schifrin, what a combination! But I never realized Lalo Schifrin did the soundtrack to this movie; until now. I was always keen to get my hands on a copy of the soundtrack just for the track "Burning Bridges", with this Limited Edition of 3000, you get 3 versions. If you are familiar with Lalo Schifrin's other soundtracks, you will notice hints of "Enter the Dragon" "Dirty Harry" and "Hell in the Pacific" There is a good cross section of music here to keep any movie buff happy. The liner notes are great, 14 pages of info plus heaps of colour photos from the movie.

- This album is great. Rickles' Book is getting a lot of attention... but this album demonstrates why the book is worth reading.
- This tape was still great but the material was a little dated. Most of the people mentioned are from the late 60's and early 70's. If you are not from that era you may have a tough time relating to the people mentioned. Overall still very entertaining as no one does insult better than Rickles.

- From jazzy to rock & roll tunes, this is by far the best song compilation soundtrack I know of, and I have listened to quite a lot of soundtracks in my life.
A stylish movie gets a stylish soundtrack, and while some tunes are missing from this soundtrack, one has to commend the creators of this OST for putting 31 beautiful songs, capping an almost 2 hour listen. It does cost about double the price of regular soundtracks but it's worth every penny.
With Louis Prima, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Fleetwood Mac, Harry Nilsson, B.B. King, Otis Redding and many many other great artists of the golden years, one can have timeless joy every time this compilation goes in the CD player.
While it is a bit pricey, it is thoroughly recommended to anyone who can enjoy some good old jazz and rock & roll. Simply a wonderful collection of songs.
- Great choice of background music which helps set the tone and mood of the various scenes of movie. As the movie time line spans a number of years and genres of music, the choices were timely and evocative. The compilation can be used as a backdrop for entertaining guests during dinner party at home or low key gathering of friends. Selections have great variety and represents good cross section of American pop and contemporary music.
- This sound track is pretty good with 2 things that i will note and i hope some one will respond...
the seen where joe pesci is talking about tonys dogs shooting the bar up
where is that back ground music??
if some one knows that could the please respond..
and one of the last songs in the movie where every one starts to fall
house of the rising sun
that song is not the same on the sound track it is a diffrent version..
- FYI for what it's worth, on my copy, disc1 track4 is "I'll Take You There" by The Staple Singers, and bump everything after up 1 notch, for a total of 16 tracks.
- ..i noticed that there are no Rolling Stones songs on this. I'm thinking that if this did include the Stones, instead of paying $32.99 for the soundtrack, we'd all be paying $60 due to the licensing fees involved...
.just a thought.
..also, this cd compilation includes the instrumental version of "The In-Crowd", not the vocal version featured in the movie.
..I'm not complaining, mind you, because this soundtrack still rocks (and rolls)..4 Stars, hands down..

- This album was originally released on the Warner Bros. Seven Arts label in 1968 in stereo only. The label had just begun its phaseout of mono. The original catalog number was WS 1745,at least in the United States. Don Rickles, who made a few television appearances prior to recording this album at Las Vegas's Sahara Hotel and Casino was,I guess we can say, competing with Bill Cosby, who also recorded for WB. We see on the cover,a tuxedo-clad Rickles, with mike in hand,of course. The back cover features a short written interview with Rickles. I remember Rickles guest-starring on a 1965 episode of CBS's The Beverly Hillbillies. This episode was one of the last black-and-white ones. Rickles' follow-up,DON RICKLES SPEAKS!,never was re-issued on CD. Rickles continued making television appearances after releasing this album. He still does today.
- I agree with the nay-sayers. I have always liked Don Rickles, but this CD isn't just not clever or funny, it's embarassingly bad. (Maybe he was better on TV??) Times have changed, of course, but besides the political incorrectness - picking on "the Mexican" and "the queer" in the audience - (very weak, unfunny jibes )- it just isn't good Don Rickles. I agree with someone else's comment that there must be much better Rickles material than this, available in the vaults. I have now heard this CD, and have just thrown it in the trash. I wouldn't give this to anybody as a gift. I can use the plastic case that it came in, at least.
- This is a great example of Don Rickles humor from the late 60s. The judge it by what is funny in todays politically correct time is to due it a great injustice. Rickles has always been great and this shows him at his prime. The humor is a little insensitive but perhaps we as an audience have just become too sensitive. Judge it as a record of it's time and not as Rickles today. If you are judging comedy of the past by today's standards then don't listen to L.Bruce, R.Pryor,G.Carlin, or even R.Dangerfield because they all would fail today's "PC" police.
- Rickles is not for everyone but he is just spontaneous and pretty funny, and a bit raw, in this 1968 live night club performance as he typially makes fun of everyone in the audience regardless of color or ethnic background that includes himself. A little crude at times but not significantly so considering these times. And he ribs just about everyone in the audience who respond in good humor regardess of religous or ethnic background. Post Imus, this may be unsettling to some but Rickles was an equal opportunity insult comic and he includes himself. Favorte line to a young Jewish couple as he asks the new husband, "What line of business is your father-in-law in that will let you to retire on his money?"
- I've been a fan of Don Rickles since I was a kid. His charm comes from his quick wit and biting sarcasm which is belied by a kind of warmth and a sense of playfully poking fun without a shred of true malice.
This kind of implicit irony may qualify Rickles as, at the very least, the progenitor of post-modern and alternative comedy. It should be noted that it is quite an achievement for an insult comedian to rise to the level that Rickles achieved. Contemporary comics like Carlos Mencia and Lisa Lampanelli, along with many others, owe a great debt to Don Rickles.
Sadly, Rickles' Hello Dummy CD was a tad disappointing. His performance comes off as a little bit rote and his conspicuous use of the transitional phrase "anyway gang" becomes very tiresome. Still, there is quite a bit that is amusing, if somewhat dated, on this CD. After all, it's still Don Rickles.
Admittedly, my opinion of this CD is partially colored by my having seen Rickles in other contexts performing with much higher energy, sounding more off-the-cuff, and as brilliant as any comic I have seen or heard anywhere. So, compared to Rickles' very best stuff, Hello Dummy doesn't quite measure-up.
Still, this CD would be very interesting, and possibly indispensable, for hardcore Rickles fans (like me) and students of stand-up comedy. If I could, I would give this CD 3.5 stars.
