- The name of the song is "Shine On" Tony Moran & Cindy Mizelle
- I really enjoyed the movie "BAPS" and I think the moral to this story is "Dreams never die - people do. Believe and you will achieve". Like one customer said in her review, songs are missing from the soundtrack that were plyed in the movie, like "Can't Wait" by Robin S. If anyone knows where I can get that song I would be forever grateful for this.
- I thought I was getting the Soundtrack with the music listed on the description page. Instead, I received another CD with the soundtrack "SCORE". All instrumental music and none of which I was looking for. I wasted my money and I hope this seller realized what they did to me and how disappointed I am.
- Pros: Gyrl, Veronica and Kai or Damage!
Cons: None Of The Robin S. Songs:(
Full Review
I love "Get Your Groove On" by Gyrl, "No One But You" by Veronica, but I was disappointed by the fact that the best two songs aren't on this soundtrack! And I hate The Variation On 'Forever' instead of the song "I'll Be Lovin'You Forever" by Kai or Damage or whom ever sung the song??? some songs aren't on the soundtrack, there are both by the singer Robin S., the same person who sung the the song "Show Me Love" back in '93. The songs are as followed: "I Can't Wait" and "Your Love Is Shining Down On Me". I hate those dumb movie clips!!
"I Can't Wait" and "Your Love Is Shining Down On Me": Please if anybody know where I can get these songs, I will be so thankful!
- I LOVED THE FILM AND THE "MUSIC" ON THE FILM. SO I THOUGHT I'D BUY THE SOUNDTRACK AND THAT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE!!! SOME OF THE SONGS ON THE SOUNDTRACK I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER HEARING ON THE FILM AND LET'S JUST SAY THAT I'M KIND OF SOURED ON BUYING SOUNDTRACKS! OR ATLEAST I'LL LOOK AT THE LIST BEFORE I DO!!

- THIS SOUNDTRACK WILL OPEN UP ANY ONES EYES. IT HAS SMOOTH R+B TRACKS, HARDCORE TRACKS , AND THE SMOOTH ANTHEMS THAT HIT THE MOVIE AND PROVIDE A GREAT SOUND. I LOVE TRACKS LIKE "YOUNG CASANOVAS" WHERE THE JUNIOR MAFIA TEAMS UP WITH MASE AND KAM ON A HOT TRACK, THE HARDCORE TRACK "THE USUAL SUSPECTS" BY MIC GERMINO FEATURING DMX, JA RULE, AND CORMEGA, THE SMOOTH, SEXY TRACK "BIG BAD MAMMA" BY FOXY BROWN FEATURING DRU HILL HELPED TOP CHARTS, AND ANOTHER REALLY REALLY HOT SONG IS "IN THE WIND" BY EIGHTBALL AND MJG. OTHER ARTISTS THAT MAKE "THE CUT" ARE 2 PAC, ABSOLUTE, RICK JAMES, RICHIE RICH, GOLDIE, AND EPMD. THE SOUNDTRACK IS REALLY HOT TOO. NOT MANY SOUNDTRACKS CAN TOP THIS ALBUM.
- This is a great soundtrack. I can listen to it over and over and I still think that it is cool. If you don't have this CD you should go buy it.
- I pulled out this CD the other day after it had gathered dust for several years in my collection and quickly remembered what a great album this was back in the day. Although the movie was terrible and forever sealed Bill Bellamy to footnote status in the world of pop culture, the soundtrack is a perfect compilation of late 90's hip-hop that encompassed the best of all three coasts (east, west, gulf).
The very underappreciated Foxy Brown is featured on a couple of sharp tracks including joining up with Dru Hill on "Big Bad Mama" which was the most commercially successfuly single off of this disc. The soundtrack also features great efforts from the likes of 2pac, Master P, and Junior Mafia. Although soundtrack albums will always feature a smattering of misses the ratio of misses to sucesses is kept very low.
Pick this CD up if you are in the mood for a good sampling of late 90's commerical hip-hop.

5 comments about Get On The Bus: Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture.
- I could not believe I was hearing a brand new track by the King of Pop when I saw the beginning of this movie. I was so excited, I immediately went online to buy it, only to see that it was not on the soundtrack! Now how the heck do you have Michael Jackson do a song for a movie and don't put it on a soundtrack? It's beyond me.
- I was equally disappointed that Michael Jackson's song opened the movie "Get On The Bus", but was absent from the soundtrack. There are some good tracks, but the soundtrack would have been much better had that song been included. For those who don't know, the name of the song is "On The Line", and it was written and produced by Babyface. The only place I have ever seen this song was on a special edition of "Ghosts". Hope this information is helpful to those who need it.
- But like everyoneelse I'm disapopointed there's no Michael Jackson on it.
The song is called On The Line(written and produced by MJ himself not Babyface)
But the other songs are still good. worth the money
- Firstly, while I can understand the disappointment of my fellow reviewers with reference to the omission of the Michael Jackson song, I do wish that they had taken the time to review the songs on offer on this soundtrack to one of Spike Lee's more under stated films. There is much on offer here to meet the needs of any music lover. On the hip hop front, A Tribe Call Quest bring it their on conscious offering 'The Remedy', which, as far as I know isn't available on any other CD. GURU & Dougie fresh seem to be going through the motions on their cuts (Destiny Is Calling, & Tonight's the Nite) but then I've never been the biggest fan of either artist. One of the highlights of the soundtrack is an excellent cover of the Eddie Kendrick 1971 hit' Girl You Need a Change of Mind, by D'Angelo which is worth the purchase of the CD alone. Stevie Wonder also brings a unique interpretation on the Bob Marley hit' Redemption song'. Other highlights include the late great Curtis Mayfield singing 'New World order', which was the title track from his last CD, Blackstreet with lovely mid-tempo offering' Coming home', and my personal favourite, form the unsung Marc Dorsey, 'Welcome back', which hints at what this artist has to offer ( Crave being his one and only offering, as I speak, which I found disappointing) All in all a good varied CD.
- 'get on the bus' tells an affecting story of black men on their way to attend the million man march in 1995.
the soundtrack, which is all male, parallels that story effectively. it is a great way to hear the many elements that make up black music, including call and response, chant, rap, and silken vocals from curtis mayfield and d'angelo.
it is a fine and fun soundtrack!

5 comments about Booty Call: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
- THIS CD IS OK, NOTHING SPECTACULAR. I THINK THE STANDOUT CUT IS "IF YOU STAY" BY THE BACKSTREET BOYS, BOY CAN THEY SING! I HAVE A LOT OF RESPECT FOR THEM NOW. THEIR POP TUNES ARE REAL CORNY BUT THIS SONG SHOWS THAT WITH RESPECTED R&B PRODUCERS THEY CAN FLIP THE SCRIPT. RESPECT.
- Usually when a movie is bad, people have to count on the soundtrack to make things better. Well, this soundtrack didn't do the trick.
This album is disorganized right from the start. As any album does, the back of this album has the track listing-but it's not in order. The liner notes have the track listing in worse order. The only correct order of songs can be found on the face of the CD itself. Out of 16 tracks, there are four completely good ones-the first four. SWV's "Can We" and Joe's "Don't Wanna Be A Player" are good, no questions asked, and R. Kelly's "Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby..." (I don't know why it's on here) brings back memories. Johnny Gill and Coko remade Rick James' "Fire & Desire," but they sing it in such a way that many people probably won't be able to tell this version from the original. The rest of the soundtrack lacks in variety. There are very predictable songs from Silk ("Feel Good") and Too Short with Lil' Kim ("Call Me"), and the thing that really brings the album down is the raunchiness of it. I know the movie is called Booty Call, but can't they draw the line somewhere? And to top THAT, most of the songs are generic lyrics spit from people you've never heard of (like Crooked and D-Shot). Squirrel ("Let Me See You Squirrel") sounds like a cheap version of DMC, and 1 Accord's song "Don't Stop, Don't Quit" (what year is this...1990?) has the uncreative chorus "To the hip-hip the hop it don't stop/To the hip-hip the hop it don't quit." Yawn... Another problem with this soundtrack is that some of the other good songs just don't seem to fit. KRS-One brings us a good message about the hazards, if you will, of teenage sex in "Plan Up Your Family," but it seems a little weird hearing about that on an album called Booty Call. Also, "If You Stay" is where you'll hear Backstreet Boys in their early days, but their singing is so soulful you might call their latest album an example of selling out. All in all, this 74-minute album is about 45 minutes of filler. You can borrow it from someone to hear the first four tracks...if you can find someone who'll admit to owning it.
- I PURCHASED THE BOOTY CALL SOUNDTRACK AFTER HEARING THE SILK & GERALD LEVERT SONGS FEATURED ON THE ALBUM. I MUST ADMIT THAT A LOT OF THE SONGS ON THE ALBUM SEEMED TO HAVE VERY LITTLE TO DO WITH THE MOVIE; HOWEVER, I REALLY ENJOYED MOST OF THE ALBUM.
- This CD is very average for the most part, and decent tracks by Joe, SWV, Lil' Kim, and R.Kelly give the project my 3 stars. Like someone stated before me, the tracklisting is nutty (you have to figure out what you're listening to!), plus that outrageous remake of 'Fire & Desire' by Johnny Gill & Coko costs the CD 2 stars. That classic love song (originally sung by Rick James & Teena Marie in 1981) is completely butchered on this remake. This is one song you just don't mess with, and no remake could do the original any justice. Coko's limited vocal range is made apparent when she reaches for Teena's famous notes (with no luck!), and Johnny Gill 'oversings' his parts. If you want a good laugh, listen to the remake of 'Fire & Desire', and don't spend more than $5.00 for a used copy of 'Booty Call'!
- Although Booty Call was not representative of the best movie for African Americans, the soundtrack was what made the movie for me. From the Johnny Gill & Coko duet, SWV, R. Kelly, to Gerald Levert...this soundtrack could do no wrong. I'm truly enjoying it.

- has to be the best soundtrack ever...this album is what got me to listen to rap music. The first time I heard "Regulate" I was hooked..I got the tape when it first came out and wore it out. If you listen to rap music and are a fan of rap from the 90's...buy this album
- Death Row sure knew how to put a soundtrack together - those were the days and this one did not disappoint. Hits from beginning to end from just the right mix of artists (SWV - 2Pac - Tha Dogg Pound - Warren G just to name a few). This is one of the better soundtracks out there pick it up if you don't already have it.
- The Row was on a roll in 94 with two soundtracks that were above average. The first is "Above the Rim". Pain - by Pac is just another example of how Pac could express his pain and demons as well as the pain of others. Regulate was the hit on this album. It put Warren G on the map. Other standouts are Big Pimpin, Dogg Pound for Life, Old Time's Sake, Afro Puffs, Pour Out A Little Liquor, and Blowed Away.
- I can't believe they omitted Pain and Loyal To The Game by Tupac. Those songs (especially Pain) where the songs that attracted me to this album. And they didn't even make up for this by releasing them on his greatest hits album. Either they release those songs or i've got a good mind to start selling copies out of my car.
But aside from that there's some very good songs here. The standouts are Pour Out A Little Liquor, Regulate, Afro Puffs, Big Pimpin, Dogg Pound 4 Life and Gonna Give It Ta Ya
- A little vain, but a good listen when you got nothin else to do. I bought this cd right when it came out for the song regulate. And Over the years I have found that many other songs are great on here as well. Ive never seen the movie, but the music is good! Whats this about songs being deleted? omitting tupac songs from this is a blunder, but there were probably monetary reasons behind it. oh well... live by the sword, die by the sword. i think i will see the movie now. - Does anyone know the song that Cedric comes out to? I know I have heard it before by I can't remember what it is?

- From the outset Martin Lawrence starts one of the funniest comedies to date. The wide range of comedians from the unknown Chris Tucker (not anymore) to the brilliances of Bernie Mac, Cedric make this a classic. I do not have one bad thing to say about this video other than Chris Rock provided a very wack show, like he did not want to be there at all.
A great buy!!!
- This is a good DVD,but not as good as volume one. This DVD contains 3 episodes of HBO's groundbreaking comedy series Def Comedy Jam.The first one is hosted by Martin Lawrence, the second by Chris Rock, and the third by Cedric The Entertainer. The first show is hilarious!Every comedian is funny.Chris Tucker starts off this show.He gives a very funny performance.Kevin Anthony is next. His whole routine is about sex,but he is SOOO funny.Alonzo "Hamburger" Jones is next.I like the way he says "Hamburger" instead of a cuss word.Last, but not least,is the one and only Bernie Mac.Like Kevin Anthony, his whole routine is about sex,but he is SOO funny. In the second show,Chris Rock gave a terrible performance. He sounded like he didn't want to be there. The second comedian in this show,Dominique,is terrible also. The only famous comedian in this show is Rudy Rush.He gives a funny performance.Cedric's performance in the third show is great.Him and Mike Bonner are the only funny comedians in the show.
- I initially bought this DVD because of Martin Lawrence. Ive seen alot of his films and thought they were funny. But i still thought him and will smith could not be the only black american comedians america has because in england all we have on terrestial TV(of black american comedy) are old re-runs of The Fresh Bel Air. So i purchased it wanting to discover more.In England we only have white comedy shows and although some of them are funny, I can not relate fully to them because of the cultural barrier between white english people and second generation african english culture.
In this DVD there are 3 shows: One hosted by Martin Lawrence, the second by Chris Rock and the third Cedric the entertainer. The first show is so funny all the comedians had me cracking up, and Bernie Mac had me in stitches.I would buy a DVD with just this show on it. The second was OK but mostly due to the host Chris Rock. As the host he should get the audience fired up in anticpation. But he came and gave a below par performance. It was like he had not prepared for the show like he had just been drafted in at the last minute and did not want to be there. The comedians in this show were all different but i would have to say Dominique was the worst. Her set did not flow and had no relevance. I did not laugh once in fact i had to fast forward her a few times so that i did not cringe every time she talked. Rudy Rush was quite good, he started good but did not follow through with the jokes. The other comedian was alright but his performance gained momentum as time went on. I basically only laughed at the end. Now the show with Cedric the entertainer was sooooooo funny. I mean Cedric is such a joker. He upheld the whole show. The comedians in the show were good but Cedric was in a league of his own he had me laughing so many times, and he didn't mention sex once as many comedians in this series love to do.

- The nightfox laser dance song without question is a sample/remix/remake/ BAM from a part of the score from the 1979 Italian movie, The Concorde Affair. Just saw it on 3-8-07 and saw Ocean 12 like 2 weeks prior.
No doubt it is the same thing only redone.
Randy
- I read other reviews in search of the best song of the movie but not on the soundtrack and I did some searching and found the CD but it's not on Amazon anymore although the page is still up, the name of the CD is "Peines De Maures / Arc-En-Ciel Pour Daltoniens [IMPORT]"by La Caution. You can probably buy it on ebay or your local underground music store.
- La Caution does the song "The A La Menthe" that is missing on the soundtrack CD. iTunes carries it for 99 cents. That's where I got it.
- This is the nightfox song. It's available to buy on Napster, or just download if you are a Napster to Go subscriber. Just search for the artist under La Caution.
- Like everyone else we wanted the best song of the movie and it's not on the soundtrack. My mistake, next time I'll know better.

- Various Artists - Life: Music Inspired By the Motion Picture (Rock Land, 1999)
Though hardly any of the songs have anything to do with the movie it's named after (maybe because the music is "INSPIRED" by the motion picture as the title suggests), and it's evident that R. Kelly used this as a vehicle to promote his new Rock Land Records, there is still some quality material on here written by Kelly. For instance, the title track really gives K-Ci a chance to shine while JoJo sings background. "Fortunate", also written and produced by Kelly, actually saved Maxwell's career back in 1999. But Kelly Price's "It's Gonna Rain" is actually the best song on the album; it's too bad that it's been overshadowed by "Life" and "Fortunate" in the public's eye. R. Kelly's tunes that he wrote for Brian McKnight, Mya, and Trisha Yearwood are also great, but it's the severely underrated "Speechless" sung by The Isley Brothers that surprised me. The tunes handled by soundtrack co-producer Wyclef Jean aren't as strong, especially the unnecessary remake of "Lovin' You" by former R. Kelly protégée Sparkle and the weird combination of Xzibit, Nature, Juvenile, Ja Rule, and Reptile (who?) on "25 to Life". City High's "What Would You Do" was so bad that they had to bring it back in 2001 to get some fans, and "Every Which Way" by Talent belies the group's name. But this soundtrack is still worth checking for the R. Kelly-penned tunes. -EJR
- THE TWO BEST SONGS FROM THIS ALBUM ARE:
Maxwell's Fortunate
Kelly Price's Its Gonna Rain
and Maybe Brian MCknight's Discovery
- Comprising music that hardly features in the movie (LOL!!) and largely produced by R Kelly and Wyclef (with some help from Darkchild on 1 track), this is a stunning R&B collection from a stellar cast of performers.
`It's like everyday' by DJ Quik (featuring R Kelly) is an outstanding sleek bubbly rap. `Stimulate me' is by the soon-to-explode Destiny's Child. Both are R Kelly compositions/productions. `Every which way' by Talent and Vegas Cats is an R Kelly production with some help from Darkchild.
`It's gonna rain' is an R Kelly ballad featuring the powerful vocals on Kelly Price. Vocally, it starts off delicate and builds up in intensity with Price soaring towards the end.
`Discovery' starts off as a piano/string ballad, with percussion and more instruments filtering in along the way, and featuring an outstanding performance from Brian McKnight. In a similar vein is the ballad `Follow the wind' featuring country singer Trisha Yearwood. Both are R Kelly Compositions/productions.
Next is Mya on the lilting midtempo ballad `Why should I believe you?', followed by the Wyclef composition/production `What would you do' by City High with lyrics about hard living and asking what you would do in her place? This song belatedly became a hit in 2001 hitting #8 on the Billboard hot 100.
'What goes round' by Khadeja, the uptempo reggae-ish `Lovin' you' by Sparkle (the only song I'm not really into on this CD I must confess, cannot compare to Minnie Ripperton's classic original), the rap `25 to life' featuring Xzibit, Juvenile, Ja Rule Nature, and Reptile, and the excellent lilting `New day' with soothing vocals by Wyclef are all Wyclef compositions/productions.
`Speechless' is a tender ballad featuring some dramatic falsetto from Ronald Isley, and the upbeat organ laden `Life' features a fiery vocal performance from K-Ci and Jojo with an almost gospel fervor.
Saving the best for last; Maxwell! `Fortunate' is a tender ballad composed and produced by R Kelly. This song hit #4 on the hot 100, #1 R&B, and was the #1 R&B song of 1999. His biggest hit to date. Multiple vocal layering, a stunning vocal performance meandering from falsetto to full vocals, and moving lyrics about seeing everyday things in a different light because of love.
- A great album that everybody has forgotten about. Great jams and some emotional songs to . It moves me.
- The movie is one of my all time favorites, along with the soundtrack, I watch and listen to them both regularly :)
