- An excellent resource for both prices & basic history on antique clocks of all types. Pictures provided for each item listed with price ranges taking into account the condition of the item. Although I had a solid basic knowledge regarding antique clocks, I found new information. The only reason I rated this book a 4 instead of a 5, is that Miller's needs to realize that it would be helpful to have dual listings of prices--both the pound/sterling and the dollar! As this seems to be a common complaint about their guides, you'd think they'd catch on! An excellent book otherwise--well written, informative with excellent examples and pictures!
- I was very happy with my book I did know what I was ordering a friend had it so I will use Amazon again.

- I'm not really a watch collector or WIS (watch idiot savant as some watch collectors refer to themselves), but I loved this book! Unlike just about every other watch book I've seen, it's _not_ just a catalog of different watch models with short descriptions. It's really well written, with prose worthy of the New Yorker. It does an excellent job of telling the history of watches, with the author's personal anecdotes integrated into the story. If I had the money, I'd enjoy collecting watches, but this book is an enjoyable read in and of itself.

- Wow, what a great book.
from start to finish it has all the classes of Omega watches, designs and great pitures. Its not the biggest book, but it packs a Big Punch. I recommend 100%.
- I own two Omega sports watches.
I purchased this book to have a look at some photos and have a read.
They weren't even mentioned in the book and they are both current models.
All a bit pointless really.

- As a military horoligist, I think this book is very useful. It covers a number of pocket chronometers and military watches. There are a large number of photographs. This is an authoritative reference book at a great price!
- This volume is large and well illustrated with black and white photographs. It details the pocket watch from English Lever, fusee drive to late 20th century Swiss. The pictures and descriptions of watches are complete with text for movement, case, dial, hands, maker etc. Found a Swiss watch (Bellodes) made for the Turkish market in mid 1800's. It's one I own and couldn't find the history on until I read this book. This is an excellent reference book.
- I bought this book based on the other two reviews - largely because I thought it was a fairly complete and useful reference. It actually only covers the subject superficially and only includes a very small percentage of the pocket watches made. Many classics are not mentioned at all. Very little information is provided on makers. As a picture book w/brief history and sampling of watches its okay but ... It's mostly a coffee table book rather than a thorough informative reference.
