  1. After a shorting introduction of post card history, 400-500 postcards are presented in black and white, and 22 in color. The cards, from 1900-1950, are arranged alphabetically, and dates for the individual cards are not included. The message on the card is not included, and a brief description is included for about a fourth of the cards (for example in showing a flood, there should have been a caption that this was the 1937 Louisville flood). Still there are some nice cards here, particularly when depicting people; such as; "Wash day at Camp Zachary Taylor", "Making Burgo in Old Kentucky", and several unlabelled real photo postcards.

  1. If you enjoy seeing Georgia in old photographs, you'll love this collection of postcard photos. Just about every place is represented here, from the big cities to the tiniest hamlets. Buy it, you'll find yourself looking at it again and again, especially after visiting some of the places depicted. -Marianna

  1. This reference book for postcard collectors is entirely given over to images of the cards themselves, with no history, grading guide, or other information. That being said, it has thousands of photos of various kinds of postcards, well organized by subject (but I wish the reproduction were clearer). The prices are dated, and do not reflect the impact that Ebay, Amazon, and other online auction houses have had on postcard availability. All in all it's a nice pictorial reference, but not a must-have.

  2. The title "Collector's Guide..." led me to believe that there would be informational text about dating, printing techniques, and other descriptive information about post cards. The book is entirely illustrations of post cards in various categories and their prices...fine for long-time collectors, but useless for someone seeking historical information.

  3. Horrible prints, can hardly see details, blury pictures in black and white (a very few colored). Set up is okay, but again, pictures are horrible and crammed into the page. A waste of money!

  4. Absolutely useless. Waste of money. Not worthy of its description. This is NOT A REFERENCE BOOK. This is a (poor) photographic journal of a collection, with speculative values based purely on opinion.

  1. It isn't at first apparent from the listing that this is a book of postcards. I found it very valuable because I also bought Eaton's "Tiffany Windows: Stained Glass Pattern Book". Although colored examples were given for them, the Tiffany designs are complicated. 15 or 16 of the postcards were duplicate designs that were in the Eaton book. I use the images for computer application and they helped me a lot to choose the right colors.

  2. This is a companion book, as it's glossy postcards. I spent an afternoon at my local frame shop & framed 6 of the cards, they are very attractive as smaller framed images. The images are sharp (although small) & the colors seem to be pretty true to what the windows would actually look like. I'm pleased with the results of my afternoon & glad I had a chance to read the previous review to know these were postcards.

  3. Was looking for good color photos of some of Tiffany's work. This book did not disappoint. The illustrations here have excellent detail that I didn't see for some of the works published elsewhere.
