The book "The Dollings" by Roslyn Herman is a delightful collection of short stories that takes the reader on mysterious journeys through the lives of various characters and the dolls that enter their lives. It is not just a book for doll lovers, but a book for anyone who enjoys a magically weaved tale.
   
   From the first doll found tossed out of a wealthy house onto the curb in the falling snow to a lady who changes her appearance through plastic surgery so that she can resemble a much loved doll, this book is based upon true events and is both heartwarming and entertaining.
   
   Like a favorite toy, the book is endearing and hard to put down. The author does a superb job of bringing to life the various characters, the dolls that they are drawn to, and the adventures that ensue. There are even gorgeous photos of the dolls to accompany the stories!
   
   It is said that you can't judge a book by its cover, but with "The Dollings", you certainly can!



2. As an avid doll collector for over 25 years, I recently received "The Dollings" as a gift. I was surprised however to find out that the stories within the book went far beyond just doll collecting.
   This book contains wonderful short stories of intrigue, greed, mystery, love, and devotion deelply connecting the owners to their dolls.
   The book was an easy read with beautiful, bright illustrations giving light to an already fascinating array of characters. Highly recommended for the passionate at heart.

3. After seeing the captivating cover of "The Dollings", I was drawn to browse through the book. The doll pictures are exquisite. The stories were short and I had the opportunity to read a few. My interest was peaked. The author has a very special knack intertwining the human interest stories with the appropriate dolls. Her dolls are as beautiful as she appears on the cover flap. I was compeled to owning my own copy. It adorns my coffee table so others can enjoy the pleasure of having dolls in their lives.

1. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this book, it is NOTHING like I hoped it would be. There is absolutely no substance inside the covers....fluff and trash. Sorry, but I have to warn others of this disappointing book!

This book was a great new additon to my libray i have many items in this book and it helped me figure out exactly what my colletion is worth. it was pleasure to read and i find my self using all the time when i am on ebay. thanks Mr Noble for putting together such a wonderful book. i will always refer to it when ever i need some information on a particalr piece. 3. I purchased this book at a Diana Dress Show in Spartenburg SC where Mr. Nobles attended. I have found this book and the contents to be very accurate and the author to be very knowledgable about the history of Princess Diana. It is not a large or thick book and is in paperback however the contents are very informative. I would reccomend this book to any collector of Princess Diana memoribilia. Mr. Nobles is a very intelligent man of whom I am glad to have met.



4. I was very disappointed with this book. The only good thing I can say about it is I am thankful for Amazon.com's generous return policy.

   I didn't like it for two reasons: A. I am a serious Diana collector, and most of the things from my collection were not even listed in the book.

   B. The valuing of each item was very vague. If your an "expert" on Diana memorabilia, you should be able to quote more exact amounts.




5. I received this book for Christmas and after reading through it, I still can't believe that any publisher would have accepted this 'lack of substance' and put it between covers and actually try to sell it. Not one thing that I own was in this book, not 1 cup, not 1 plate, not 1 figurine, not 1 book.

   I gave the book back to the person who gave me this gift and asked them to return it...it has no place in my collection!
