1. This is the most adorable, artfully written and gorgeously photographed Barbie book of them all! Well done Keni Valenti! Every one of my many nieces and grandaughters will find a copy in their stocking on Christmas morning. Thanks for giving everyone who loves Barbie as much as my family does, such a great stocking stuffer and...just in time for Xmas.



2. When I read "hardcover, 128 pages" in the description of a book, I imagine a serious book, and have never thought to check the book's dimensions. I will from now on. This is a cute, superficial little "toy" book most suitable for the 10-12 year old collecting new Barbie dolls. It is not a factual reference book. It features one doll/outfit per page with a short blurb about the picture. The outfits are sometimes matched with incorrect accessories or off-the-wall descriptions. While this is of no consequence to the little girl playing with her first Barbie, it should not be confused with a book for serious collectors.

1. Chosen as a gift for Christmas for my 10 yr. old son. We put it together as a Mom-son project. Although much of the assembly was challenging for my son (he found it difficult to carefully punch out the perforated cardboard pieces), we enjoyed working on the project together. Unfortunately, he was playing with one of the wheel assemblies and pushed the axle back into the wheel. I was unable to make it stable and now the truck runs on three wheels. But we did enjoy the time spent working on it together. Lesson learned....be careful, it is cardboard and some pieces cannot be replaced.

1. Tom Tierney has produced another wonderful book of paper dolls! I have been collecting his period paper dolls since I was a child and have never been dissapointed. This set is no exception. The costumes are fitted perfectly to the Empire period. They would also be a perfect gift for any child interested in books from this era, such as Jane Austen's works. They can become the pictures for otherwise un-illustrated books. They are also a must-have for any historical clothing fanatics. These paper dolls come highly recommended!



2. Many wonderful and decidedly French influenced fashions are represented here. Not quite as many costumes or as diverse a set of them as in Tierney's Regency doll book, but while I haven't used this set as much it has certainly been fun to compare the French and English styles.
