1. I have alot of dool books but this is book is my favorite one.
   nice big color pictures. Shows alot of close up pictures of the
   differant ears,eyes,and and feet so that it is easy to tell the
   doll maker. Also shows differant Head and Body markings.

If you have any love of the English language, and are able to tell good photographs from bad ones, you will truly dislike all of the books by this woman that I have read, including Barbie Exclusives volumes 1, 2 and 3. The text is virtually unreadable, almost completely devoid of any real information, and is generally a painful experience. The photographs are almost equally bad, ranging from grainy yellowish shots, to lovely ones in which box-front glare almost obliterates any details of the doll inside. Truly, you can do much better than this series! Try the Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Doll Exclusives and More by J. Michael Augustyniak.

1. Here's another fine entry in celebrity paper dolls from artist Tom Tierney, tackling the array of torch singers from the '20s through the '60s of the 20th century. It's particularly interesting to see the lesser known singers and costumes, such as Nora Bayes and Mabel Mercer (everyone should hear Mabel, she's fantastic), as well as famous performers like Frances Langford, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, and others. Particularly interesting is the attention to detail, such as the crutches Jane Froman used to perform in the years after her plane accident, and the shoes with low heels Edith Piaf preferred to wear while performing. Also appreciated are the costumes some of the singers wore in films (Lena Horne in "Stormy Weather", Rosemary Clooney in "White Christmas") and on album jackets (Jo Stafford's checked skirt and blouse, Anita O'Day's print dress and peplum top).
   
   Only possible complaint: where are Helen Morgan and Lillian Roth? But overall, an excellent entry from the talented Tom Tierney.
