  1. This book on Terri Lee dolls has some great pictures but not much information. If you really need help identifying the doll and clothes, this is not the book to buy. The book dedicates space to 1/4 page pictures of the author's grand children, Shirley Temple and lots of identical information. The same copy is duped onto different pages.

  2. Basically this book is THE BEST if you are at all interested in the Terri Lee dolls and finding out which one you have, does it have its original clothing and what might it be worth. This wonderful guide begins with the background and creation of the Terri Lee dolls-- beginning with the early compo dolls, the painted plastic dolls, vinyl, and hard plastic, then their recreation in 1999 and also current introductions. It has absolutely fabulous clear color photos and all dolls are pictured with their original costumes and the latest collector prices (for the year 2000). Original boxes are shown for some, enlarged pictures of the accessories, and so much more! You won't be disappointed -- it is truly a well researched reference guide and the author deserves 5 stars for this book.

  1. Am a Windsor fanatic, but that's not enough for these highly artificial paper dolls. The fashions are allright, I suppose, but Wallis' face is unrecognizable. Such a shame.

  1. I have been collecting Disney dolls for over 6 years & I found this book to be VERY accurate & fun to read. The pictures are beautiful & Margo does not leave a doll or fashion out. A must have for any doll collector!

  2. Margo's newest book is the BEST! There are tons of good quality, large, color photos! The descriptions in Margo's book are unrivaled! There is no one that can describe these doll's outfits, facial features, hair, and accessories better than Ms. Rana. This is not just a "price guide".....this is a must have book for identifying ANY Mattel made Disney doll that you will ever run across! Can't WAIT for Volume 2 that takes over where Volume 1 left off! WONDERFUL work, Margo! Thanks from ALL the Disney doll collectors for your great effort to help us all out with your vast knowledge of your collectible field!

    A TRUE Fan! Michelle :-)

  3. Good variety of dolls. Some quite unusual.

1 comments about Collecting Rose O'Neill's Kewpies (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
  1. This is a wonderful book filled with lots of color photos of the earliest Kewpies. Since the authors are members of Rose O'Neil's family, they concentrate on the Kewpie figures, dolls, and dishes that were made under the supervision of Rose herself. If you are a Kewpie fan, this book is for you. The prices given are for 2003.

  1. Anyone who enjoys collecting Barbie & her Friends, especially those dolls which came out during the 1981 to 1991 decade, will love this book. I wanted to find out what Barbies were around when I was a kid in the 80's, and this book was a find! Not only does it include all dolls, gift sets, fashions and other barbie products put out during 1981 - 1991, but also has color photos of each and every product as well as values for each item (NRFB). So if you have been looking for a book which covers this decade of dolls, buy this one now!!

  2. The information was great, but some showed pictures no prices

2 comments about Heraldic Miniature Knights.
  1. HERALDIC MINIATURE KNIGHTS is the indispensible book for collectors of toy knights and medieval miniatures all around the world. Peter Greenhill's labor of love covers the work of the late, great Richard Courtenay and his rivals and successors in exhaustive detail. Exquisite color photographs of every Courtenay pose and of many figures by Ping, Vertunni, Desfontaines, Stadden, Cuypers, Greenhill himself, and other top makers make for as beautiful a book as any collector would want. If you are interested in collecting medieval figures, you MUST have this book. Nothing else comes close.

  2. This is a superbly illustrated volume on collecting and identifying model knights for collectorsw and enthusiasts. The photographs, as well as the accompanying drawings of heraldry in color, are magnificent, and enable the reader to do excellent research for either his own collection or to start and build one.

The models of Courtenay, Ping, Selwyn-Smith, Desfontaines, and other manufacturers and enthusiasts made a visual treat, and the accompanying text is excellent. While I was somewhat disappointed that Britains excellent Swoppet plastic knights were not included, that is a minor distraction and does not take away from either the presentation or the impact of this volume.

My favorite presentation was of the work of Selwyn-Smith which eventually became the Knights of Agincourt in the Britains range in the 1950s, which I also collect, as well as a very small range of models which are a conversion of Selwyn-Smith's models and Courtney parts, such as helmets, heads, and stands. The heraldry and painting of both of these small ranges as models and not toys is outstanding and are an inspiration to improve one's own collection, or to start a collection of knights and men-at-arms as soon as possible.

It should be noted that Britains has started to produce a new range of Knights of Agincourt, which are excellent and well worth getting and fit in very well with both the old range and the material in this book.

    This volume is enthusiastically recommended.

  1. Kewpies are such a fun doll. This is a great book for my library.
I also purchased a fun read about stories about dolls, Dolls Aren't Just for Kids. My mother and sister love a book they can curl up in a comfy chair and read.

  2. The Seller is Excellent. The book is as new. Thank You!!

  3. Since there aren't many available reference books on the subject of Kewpie dolls, you may want to consider adding this volume to your library despite its limitations. The title led me to expect a reference book that would assist me with evaluating Kewpies for the purpose of resale. Unfortunately, a large portion of the book is devoted to the history of the development of the Kewpie and their creator. The content is also very, very limited. It really just includes dolls with a couple of other pieces such as a cup and saucer and a neck kerchief (without prices); there isn't really any "art" to speak of, either listed or valued. It does have an index, however it's primarily organized by the owner of the pieces, not by the actual pieces. Also, the values are not listed with the illustrations. They are located in a chart at the back of the book, which is organized by the item name, size, material, type, year made, manufacturer and current price. Unfortunately, the names don't really correspond with the actual items and it's difficult to determine which items the chart is actually referencing. Again, there aren't many Kewpie reference books available, so this one isn't completely without value, just don't hope for anything comprehensive or easy to use.
