  1. This is a great book for anyone looking to purchase doll house furniture from the 1950s-1980s. The chapters are by Doll Furniture Maker.

Many photographs are in color, and include approximate dates they were made/sold. The book includes an index with price guides (but remember the prices are from 1997).

Also has a nice chapter on the tin kitchen playsets.

The only flaw in the book is that it does not deal in the plastic furniture (that came with the tin lithographed doll houses) -- I had to use Tomart's Guide to learn about those.

  1. This is by far always one of the best reference books around for Madame Alexander Doll Collectors. It gives you a great guideline for what your dolls are worth as well as exquisite photos of dolls that you may never have the opportunity to own or even see in person. I will be a yearly buyer for as long as they keep puplishing!

  2. I was hoping for more pics of antique Madame Alexander Dolls, but it is good information.

  3. Linda Crowsey's MADAME ALEXANDER: 2007 COLLECTOR'S DOLLS PRICE GUIDE #32 is an updated collector's price guide no Madame Alexander doll collector should miss. It packs in an A-Z listing of the dolls and their latest values, and while it includes some small color photos, its value lies in the latest updated prices collectors need to make informed buying and selling decisions.

  4. I got this for my daughter who collects dolls, especially Madame Alexander dolls. She uses the book frequently and likes it very much.
I recommend it although it doesn't have every doll made by Madame Alexander.

  5. This book was very helpful in pricing several dolls that I was interested in buying. Without this resource, I would have paid too much.

  1. This model requires good fine finger coordination to manipulate the tiny cats, which stick better at the bottom than the top of the "lady" if you arrange her standing up on the magnet. Cute, but not as cute as the plastic crazy cat lady figure everyone seems to be selling.

  1. There's not a lot of printed information in this book, it's mostly pictures, but I absolutely LOVE this book. The pictures are great, & they come in handy if you need something to refer to, say for auction information (buying or selling). I highly recommend this book if it's pictures of vintage items you're after, you won't be disappointed!

  2. I've had this book for years and look at it often. the European dolls pictured are not seen in most other guides . I wish some of the photos were better and that the color was more true to life in them but I can't fault her research or her doll knowledge. I don't know this author like I do Jim or Michael or Joe so this is a legit review and not done out of kindness but the guys i mentioned are top notch too and don't need friendship reviews either

5 comments about An Unauthorized Guide to Godzilla Collectibles (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
  1. If you like Godzilla, this is the book for you. Even if you have just a passing fancy into the world of collectibles, you will be amazed at how in depth and complete this volume is. Covers thousands of items. I looked at it for hours after getting it.

  2. Spend hours just looking through all the godzilla items in the last 30 to 40 years. Anyone who is a collector or a true godzilla fan, this book is a must!!!!

  3. Invaluable book for collectors and dealers alike. Clear pics on some of the really rare and expensive items. The only problem is that many of the prices are WAY too low for some of the toys, but when the author is one of the largest buyers and sellers of Godzilla toys, you have to expect that.

  4. I am most impressed with this book. As a rookie Godzilla collector, it was fascinating to see the huge selection of merchandise that has been available. Living in the UK, it has been near impossible (until the internet came along) to obtain Godzilla merchandise and now I know what a task is ahead of me! Even if I cannot own the items, at least this book will provide me with a good photographic record. I was especially interested in the section devoted to film posters - it is interesting and hilarious seeing the variations between different country's versions. The book is lilterally packed with colour photos - in fact the only thing which lets it down is the lack of background text/information on the merchandise. I was glad to see no mention of the American/Tristar Godzilla (1998) apart from a entry in the film poster listing -the book was probably compiled just a little too early for this but I feel that it would have no place in the Japanese Godzilla World.

  5. A comprehensive masterpiece of full Godzilla's merchanise on toys, posters, models etc. which is definitely a 'must-have guide' for true collectors in search of complete amazing collection. Very well recommended for all ages and good investment with value in money. Do not miss it or you are not complete Gozdilla's fan yet.....
