5 comments about Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Doll 2008: Identification & Values (Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Doll Collector's Editions).
- This is a collector only. Its not a price guide for all Barbie's ever made, like it makes you think.
- J. Michael Augustyniak's COLLECTOR'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BARBIE DOLL COLLECTOR'S EDITIONS 2008 is a 'must' for any Barbie collector or any collection catering to doll collectors. It packs its pages with the latest values and updated color photos, including descriptions, notes on special collections and Barbie attributes, and more. If only one Barbie doll collector's comprehensive reference were acquired for a general lending library, it should be this one.
- I found this book to be very helpful in that I have a BARBIE COLLECTION and needed to find out the value of my 200+ collection for insurance. Although not all of my dolls were in this book I still found many of the values that I needed.
Great value for the money spent
- I just love this book! everything is great....
I love looking at all the dolls.......
- if you want to buy dolls you need to know what you are doing especially here on Amazon where some of the Barbie prices are three times what they should be . so you need advice from an expert who isn't trying to run prices up on his own stuff he has for sale. Michael is both expert and honest. You can't hope for better than that!

1 comments about Watches International: Volume IX (Watches International).
- This publication has the "potential" for being great. However, everything seems a little incomplete. Many watches lack prices. Many of the brands are missing models of great importance. Several big companies are missing. The good thing is the brief description offered of each brand including facts and history.

5 comments about Goldmine Price Guide to 45 RPM Records (Goldmine Price Guide to 45 Rpm Records).
- I have found this to be the most informitive book on 45's that I have ever read. Not only does it give you a guideline on the value of the records in your collection, but it also gives you information on the artists such as other groups the artist has been with and the groups that have changed their names over their careers
- Has just about every record ever made with its corresponding value. Only thing not listed are instrumentals.
- Not relevant for todays market !
I whis I could buy some of the soul, garage and freakbeat records listed there for the prices they estimate !! And the mainstream records are listed too high ! Buy the Jerry Osbourne price guide instead !!
(and the colour section section pages fell out after one read)
Avoid this !
- over and over, neelys guides come out faithfully showing all the wonderfull records you would love to own, stating decent prices anyone would wanna pay for them ..and then hits you in ther gutt by telling you they arent worth a third of that amount to dealers.
when it comes to books like these everyone suddenly becomes a dealer.
or else the near mint pricing is all anyone looks at.
its a good book but its repetitive of all the other books hes done.and in fairness, all the other writers books too who do yearly record guides.
and when it comes to showing scans of rare records..welp..it looks good but it doesnt make me wanna run out and buy them.
in other words a collector can own one of these..preferably this book..and never buy another one because the info will not change much.
just the packing and covers.
still..a good xamas gift ands hard work involved.
- This book is a fantastic resource for any collector, especially an amateur like me. After I learned how to "read" the entries, it was very easy to get the information I needed, and I learned quite a lot about the valueof the records I grew up with, as well as the picture sleeves which are often worth far more than the vinyl!

3 comments about Field Guide to American Antique Furniture: A Unique Visual System for Identifying the Style of Virtually Any Piece of American Antique Furniture.
- Excellent and easy to use reference book, illustrates styles in thier purest form. Does not treat the subject of authenticity but notes characteristics and idiosyncracies of various examples.
- This book is good for a quick reference. It is filled with sketches that are grouped into categories (chairs, tables, beds).
It can help you identify the style of a piece of furntiture, but doesn't help authenticating the piece.
- Get this one. It shows and tells what a novice needs to learn about antique furniture. Also...a great refresher for long-time antiquers.

1 comments about Jefferson Nickels Folder 1962-1995 (Official Whitman Coin Folder).
- Just like the Whitman coin folders from when I was a child, good quality, fair price. Excellent option to hold a modest collection in the building stage, until you're ready to move your collection to a better quality folder such as Dansco.

5 comments about Lehner's Encyclopedia of U.S. Marks on Pottery, Porcelain and Clay.
- This book is jam packed with pottery marks, a great value for the price. I had no idea that there were so many. It is extremely informative, giving a brief history, manufacture dates and much more information for each company listed. I would definately recommend this to anyone with an interest in collecting or selling pottery.
- This book is prodigious in scope: the pottery marks (with huge varieties within each company) and historical information are both invaluable and interesting. However, the indexing is weak, which leads one to thumbing through pages trying to find an elusive mark. This is such a well-researched, vast collection of marks, however, that laborious searches are rewarded.
- This book is about U.S. marks.
.... So, if you need a piece of U.S.A pottery identified, then this book probably has the mark. (Please note that this book is not about finding markings of European pieces. As stated on the cover, this book is strictly about U.S. marks).
P.S.: This book also includes all the U.S. RESTAURANT-WARE markings. Very helpful if you collect "RESTAURANT-WARE", along with other American pottery and china.
- This book is a definite 'must have' for anyone dealing in or buying collectible ceramics. I have just started selling glasswares and have come across a lot of different pottery marks. Without a reference book, you cannot determine an items' real worth.
This book has thousands of different marks and artists' marks! This book is by my side when trying to determine the ceramic items' origin and age.
- The book arrived on time and the condition was as described (new). The secondary packaging could use improvement as the box had broken and opened at the bottom. The primary packaging was excellent and prevented the book from damage when the box broke.

5 comments about Sea Glass Chronicles.
- Nice book with some pretty pictures but does not really contain much useful information about sea glass. The book "Pure Sea Glass: Discovering Nature's Vanishing Gems" contains much more information about the possible origins of sea glass for the novice collector.
-
Fabulous book for anyone who loves beachcombing and collecting sea treasures - highly recommended!
- so much information about seaglass...
and the photos allow you to compare what you have already found or looking for.
- Last night I opened Sea Glass Chronicles to read a few pages, but found I couldn't put it down! This lovely book is a treasure, just like the "treasures" it describes in each chapter. After a few pages, I realized that Pat Hanbery's photographs were amazing as well! Enjoyable on several levels, it's a "coffee table" book that any age would enjoy simply for the browsing, but the writing and research by C.S. Lambert will take you much, much deeper into this hobby enjoyed by nearly everyone: beachcombing! It is an educational trip through the archaeology of beach glass, pottery, and doll fragments, caught in time before they were all altered by water's relentless task of reducing them into sand particles on a beach. Although there is a great deal of information, it is presented in quickly-readable short stories. This is a real "keeper" as well as a good gift idea.
- Considering there was only one other book on sea glass that I knew of, I absolutely HAD to have another-being the avid sea glass fan that I am. However, upon receiving the book, I was greatly unimpressed with not only the images, but also the lack of magnificent specimens. The book tells more about ceramic shards than it does actual glass. In my opinion, I find actual glass to be much more attractive than any kind of pottery shard.
Furthermore, the book had hardly any information on where to find glass, how to look for it, or even when to go and look... absolutely nothing about actually collecting. Or what about the weathering process of the shards? Nope. I was very disappointed in the lack of information. For those craving explanations of the possible origins, when and where to find glass, and just general information regarding anything one can think of about sea glass, get the book Pure Sea Glass. It's an amazing reference whenever I come home with new and interesting pieces.

5 comments about I Am Plastic: The Designer Toy Explosion.
- This book has great images of toys from around the world. I bought it for a friend who is a graphic designer and she plans to use it as a visual reference for a childrens book she is illustrating.
- This is one of those books that simply has to be seen to be believed - who would have thought that toys (yes, toys) could become a new artistic medium? Within "I Am Plastic" you'll find a wild and wonderful selection of toys from creators from across the globe, everything from evil cartoon characters and superdeformed abstractions to fantastically detailed and realized robots, gorillas, and others. Browsing through this volume I was reminded of the art in the book "The Art of Modern Rock: The Poster Explosion" - the artists and their art in each of these books seem to have the same feel, the same vibe and life to them: definitely non-conformist, and definitely imaginative, as though pop culture was put in a blender and the results painted on canvas or molded into plastic toys. Anyone interested in modern art would do well to give this book a look.
- one of the best toy art books around, lots of designs, this book is a must have
- I was hoping this book would give me a little insight into the world of the designer toy. Instead, I got a pictorial, not a book...not a word of explanation, just pictures of the various toys. Too bad - it would have been more enlightening if the author included even bullet descriptions of the provenance of such toys: why are they called designer toys, when did this phenomenon start, where is it a craze, will it continue to be a craze and what makes one toy a hit and one not. This short review has more words than you'll ever read in the book.
- This is a very very good book for any vinyl lover or collector, It's got so many examples shown. Only thing I would have liked better is more detail on many of the vinyls listed. This book is mostly pictures with only just a lil info on each. It would have been nice to have more info on many of them but still overall a wonderful book.

5 comments about The Adventures of Captain Underpants.
- Captain Underpants is about two boys named Harold and and George who start to write Captain Underpants comics, and end up hypnotising their mean princepal, who ends up becoming Captain Underpants. I think The Adventures of Captain Underpants was very funny, and a I look forward to reading the next book.
- Captain Underpants started in book 1. It all began when a mean old principal named Mr. Krupp made 2 students, George and Harold, his slaves for pulling a big prank. Until they got a 3-D hypno ring and messed with Mr. Krupp's brain, and told him he was a famous super hero named Captain Underpants (Even though he had no super powers). So he goes off in his undies and tries to fight villainous bad-guys. When all of the sudden he ran into some robots trying to steal gems. Will he get them? Buy the book to find out. I give this book a 5 star because it is humorous and fun for children to read.
- The funniest book alive
The Advancers of Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey the main character is Captain Underpants this book is fantasy. I I think this is the funniest book in the galaxy. I recommend
This book for people who love to laugh.
- Hi! I'm going to tell you about the craziest and funniest book you probably will ever read. It is so funny, you'll probably cry! I'll tell you a really funny part: Two boys named George and Harold, who are really bad boys, changed a sign that said, "Pick your own rose," to, "Pick your noses!" Captain Underpants always gets in trouble and then George and Harold have to save him! You will really love this book!
By Riley
- Captian Underpants, the first book is great. It tells how it all started. It starts by introductionsthe Characters. The characters are Harold and Geroge. The day starts, byt with the prants. The got caught of what the did. The principal makes the do things. Harold a Geroge buy a ring. Thhis ring is different . The ring hipnotizes ppeople. George use it on the principal, Mr. Krubbs. George and Harold turn him into Captin Underpants. So now their principal is a super hero when they snape their fingers, Mr Kubbs turns into Captin Underpants. When water get poured on him, he turns back into himeself. Also the book has something that on other books has. That is the Flip-O-Rama. I recommend this book to kids that like adventure, fighting, and humor. This is the book for you.
