2 comments about Scott 2002 Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue: Countries of the World S0-Z (Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue Vol 6 So-Z).
- Why spend money on a book that gives values for stamps that are 3 to 5 times higher than the stamps sell for every day of the week on E-bay? This book is a complete waste of money and has lost touch with all reality!
- The Scott stamp catalogs are the bible of postage stamp apraising. No other publication brings together such a wealth of virtually universal stamp knowledge and pricing. While the prices that Scott uses may not especially match current market they are fairly consistant and most dealers base their prices on a flat percentage of Scott therefore making it a good reference point.

- Not only a history of an amazingly talented jeweler, but the photos are breath taking!
- The book I ordered was received in a timely manner and in excellent condition. I also love the book.
- A great book either as a 'coffee table' book or for the professional. Beautifully photographed. A must for the 'jewelry person'

5 comments about Star Wars Super Collector's Wish Book: Identification & Values (Star Wars Super Collector's Wish Book).
- This book had a lot of information I was looking for but not all.
- This publication just goes from strength to strength.
A true must for any collector, serious or beginner alike.
Filled with great pictures & loads of information as a resource book you just can't fault this item. Doesn't matter if you collect action figures, cloth badges, books, posters...whatever...this book has the lot.
If you are only going to do yourself one favour this year, make sure you buy yourself a copy of this book.
OUTSTANDING STUFF.
- Values for both common Star Wars items and rare collectibles are presented under one cover in the weighty 4th updated edition of Star Wars Super Collector's Wish Book, a reference packed with some 900 categories of merchandise from around the world. From guitar straps and gum holders to pins and memorabilia, over 16,000 color photos - many small, but big enough to easily help in identification - pack this reference. Any library catering to Star Wars fans in particular will find it a popular pick.

- I own the other wish books by G. Carlton. I find them to be really helpful, informative and I love the pictures he has for reference too. Great job! Anyone collecting Star Wars should own a copy of this book.
- I bought this book awhile ago and also bought "Tomart's Price Guide to Worldwide Star Wars Collectibles" by Steve Sansweet. I found the super collectors wish book to be the better of the two. Far better. This book is easy to read, up to date and has sections that are in colour. The Sansweet book is none of that. This is the better of the two books to spend your hard earned republic credits on. I hope this reveiw was helpful.

2 comments about Paperback Covers of Robert McGinnis.
- Robert McGinnis is one of America's most gifted illustrators and the breadth of his talent was well-documented in his art book, TAPESTRY. Pin-ups, Westerns, movie posters--the guy could paint it all. THE PAPERBACK COVERS OF ROBERT MCGINNIS, though featuring several paintings as well as pencil roughs and a couple of photo references, is not an art book, but rather is a rather pricey checklist geared toward paperback collectors. The majority of the color works are small reproductions of the actual covers as they originally appeared--and the focus is firmly on McGinnis' detective covers with the other genre's he's worked in getting barely a nod. Even so, I would have preferred to see large reproductions of the artist's trademark femme fatales unmarred by titles instead of the plethora of tiny second-generation reproductions found in this volume: the format and content is geared SO much toward the hardcore collector mentality that the editors/authors seemed to have lost track of the ART and the ARTIST they supposedly revere. A disappointment.
- Well, right off the bat let me just say that if you are a Robert McGinnis fan, you must have this book. The production standards are terrific and the reproductions of paintings, from the originals, are as crisp and eye-popping as you always hope for in an art book. The book is also a valuable companion volume to "Tapestry" released. last year and covers completey new ground in terms of illustrations reproduced. All this said, I do have a quibble with the thought that went into the layout. Fine coated art paper is used throughout and what did the authors do? They filled up huge portions of this gorgeous paper with a complete checklist of McGinnis paperback covers, rather than the illustrations us fans were looking for. The checklist is a valuable tool for those who wish to compile a complete library of McGinnis paperbacks, (say, 5% of the people who love the work of McGinnis), but it could easily have fit at the back of the book on cheaper stock, which would have left room for dozens (if not hundreds) of color McGinnis covers. Oh well! Still good, but it was "this close" to being great!

5 comments about The Blood Pressure Cure: 8 Weeks to Lower Blood Pressure without Prescription Drugs.
- I am an MD. This book is very anecdotal. Emphasizes some supplements that only have a bit of evidence backing them, and leaves out others with at least as much evidence.
Also, essentially promising that everyone will get at least some effect out of these ideas is wrong.
Personally, Ive now tried all of these supplements and the other recommendations. Got expensive quickly and MAYBE have had a few points reduction each in systolic and diastolic pressures when on the arginine, grapeseed extract, and the calcium/magnesium supplements. The others did nothing. Not able to reduce medications. Not sure if I will continue or not.
A disappointment compared to his cholesterol book.
- The Blood Pressure Cure: 8 Weeks to Lower Blood Pressure without Prescription Drugs
This book is an excellent reference for people who want to really understand high blood pressure and how to control it. Even if you do not want to go on the 8 week plan this book is filled with information. For people who do not want to use medication as a first line of treatment this book will walk you through all of your options. But it also addresses blood pressure medications and when and why they may be appropriate. I learned a great deal from this book and I highly recommend it.
- The book is intriguing, in that it is written by a medical journalist, not a physician. You even wonder how he ever found a publisher to publish the book. Nevertheless, with that qualifier up front and the predominance of "anecdotal" evidence, author Robert Kowalski offers a common sense approach to lowering your blood pressure. This is a combination of exercise/activity, stress reduction, diet and various diet supplements. He does not come off as dogmatic or as a zealot. One is tempted to say that these measures may be like chicken soup - "they can't hurt but might help."
The larger message that has merit is that patients should take responsibility for their own health and blood pressure, that there is a lot in the way of lifestyle that we can do short of getting on prescription drugs to manage and lower our blood pressure. Whether the process takes eight weeks or eighty, that is a good message.
Like lots of things in life, the kicker lies not in knowing the right things to do, but having the strength of will to do them and to act on them. In this regard, "The Blood Pressure Cure" is no exception.
- Even being a person that exercises 6 days a week, having low fat in my body and eating healthy food I had my blood pressure around 130/70 easily going to 140 if I ate something with too much sodium, like Japanese food. After reading a few books I reduced the salt and increased the potassium. After a few months with this new diet my blood pressure dropped to 120/125. However, it couldn't drop more! Then I read this book and start taking the suplements the author mentioned, the four all of them. Now, after about a month my blood pressure is constantly about 115/60. Amazing!!!
- I found this to be an informative book on how to live with heart disease but unfortunately the author recently died. That fact tends to cause some hesitation in following his precepts.

5 comments about Inside the Worlds of Star Wars, Episode I - The Phantom Menace: The Complete Guide to the Incredible Locations.
- I just saw this book yesterday. I don't think it was marketed as much as the other books. That's a shame because it's magnificient.
I am truly blown away by the content and pictures of the locations from Episode I. The art is unbelievable. The detail level is extreme and it must have taken an enormous amount of time for these two artists to complete this work. Every detail you could possibly want is here. This is a lot like the Star Wars Cross-Section books of the ships only it is not as technical. Imagine those books but for the locations and you have a pretty good idea of what this is. What's really great is how you get to look at things from angles that the film doesn't show you. The long shots really put everything into scope. You also get to see areas that you can't in the movie such as this place Watto can fly up to above his countertop in the junk shop. I can't wait to study this book some more and then rewatch The Phantom Menace again. I believe I'll look at it in a whole new way. My fingers are crossed for an Episode II version. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
- Finally, a cross-sections that gives the audience a look inside the buildings of Star Wars! Why they waited so long to release it is anyone guess, but the wait is over. If you've read my reviews for the other cross-sections books then you know how much I love cross-sections. That said, Inside The Worlds Of Episode 1 breathes new life into The Phantom Menace. Particular favorites of mine include Otoh Gunga, Watto's junkshop, the Galactic Senate building, and the Jedi Temple. Not only does the book talk about particular locations in the movie, but also the very planets that the movie is set on: Naboo, Tatooine, and Coruscant. Inside The Worlds Of Episode 1 is full of wonderful illustrations and is packed with amazing information. Indeed, it's the chosen one...of cross-sections books, that is.
- An indepth review of the Episode 1 locations which are quite impressive, such as the Mos Espa arena and the Theed royal palace. An extention of the Pictorial Directory and Cross Sections, this book really explains alot of how why and where things happened in this first chapter of this tail.
- An excellent book! I have all of the titles in this series and plan to purchase Inside the Worlds of the Classic Star Wars as soon as it comes out. I think that they could have gone a little bit more in depth with this book, but you're talking to a Star Wars freak who could never get enough. I also think that The Attack of the Clones edition could have been longer, but overall, a wonderfull book of detailed maps and explanitory paragraphs.
- This is a great visual aid if you wonder how everything is made and works in the world of Star Wars.
