1. This book is a must for the used equipment buyer. The equipment is critiqued by the author and the book well written and easy to understand. I buy and sell gear and use this book as a realistic price guide and for reference. There are many makes and models of cameras. When choosing a camera it is hard to determine what to buy and how much to pay. McBrooms Camera Bluebook helps you make an informed decision. I am anxiously awaiting the new edition.

1. This camera catalog is essentially useless unless one is interested only in basic camera prices and basic cameras. Any camera catalog that contains information about single lens reflex cameras but excludes technical and price information about accessory lenses for those cameras, as this one does, might just as well not exist.



2. This book is extremely useful to camera collectors of more recent equipment. There are few pictures and the prices are often way off from present sale prices, BUT many cameras (especially from the 1950s to the 80s) are covered here that are not mentioned in any of the other camera guides. This makes this work unique and very useful. The spread sheet format takes some getting used to, but it allows a great deal of information to be given in a small amount of space. I use my copy daily, along with my McKeown's. I hope they issue a revised edition.

1. The Collector's Guide To Cine Cameras by John Wade is a superbly presented guide for avid collectors wanting to pursue their specialized hobby on a reasonable budget. Chapters include a detailed history of cine cameras, close studies of specific cine camera types, and a thorough directory of manufacturers. Black and white photographs throughout depict an amazing variety of cine cameras throughout history. The Collector's Guide To Cine Cameras is a very highly recommended, indispensable guide and reference for anyone with an interest in acquiring or identifying a cine camera.



2. I grew up in the 50's / 60's, had my first Film Camera as a 15year old boy and many more thereafter. The book brings back lots of memories. Some of the beautiful pictures almost put "butterflys" in my eyes...It is written VERY WELL with useful details and interesting stories about the history of Movie Cameras. Like any book, there are some slight discrepancies here and there, but in general it is VERY diligently written and technically interesting and CORRECT.
   I love it, it's well worth the price and I recommend it to anyone that was involved in the early (double) 8mm amateur and/or even 16mm pro area..!
