1. This book is somewhat misleading in it's title. In many ways "nick knaks of the french interior" might be more accurate. This book has some discussion of French aestetics, and some overall views of interiors, but concentrates on individual items such as furniture, porcelain, clientele and furnishing textiles.

   The book has some lovely photographs, but if you are looking for a book full of wonderful photographs of 18th century French aristocratic interiors, then this book is probably not for you. Most of the photos are of the smaller items like nick knaks that make the "feeling" of French interior design.

   For an overview of the great interior artists of the bits and pieces that make up french interior design this is good, but it's certinally not a comprehensive guide and in many ways is a dissapointing book.




2. This is an excellent resource book for Artists to research the decorative arts.It has influenced my art techniques tremendously . Fabulous color plates with good detail .Highly recommend this book.

1. This is a great book for experts and beginners. It has dates for manufacturers and makers, marks, tips, and best of all, pictures. The book is fully indexed and cross-referenced. The center section highlights curious collectibles -- items with uses that are unfamiliar to many collectors -- and is illustrated with full-color photographs. No wonder Kovels' Antiques & Collectibles Price List has been around for 32 years! It's the only antiques & collectibles price list that is acutally written by the people whose names appear on the cover.

1. My grandfather wrote this book and I love him with all my heart..he is gone to heaven...but not gone from my heart and soul...and most importantly not gone from the decoy scene.
   
   He was the most respected decoy collector I knew. I grew up with his basement filled with display shelves of priceless decoys.
   I knew my grandfather as a hunter, fisherman, cook, and most importantly a loving father and grandfather. I call him Papa and the rest of you can call him the guru of decoys!

1. What can I say, Joyce has done it again! Pre-Happy Meal toys were always a mystery, and people never had a real idea of what they were all about. But now, thanks to this book, the mystery has now been eliminated. There are pictures of just about anything and everything that you could imagine. There are even McDonald's Newspaper Articles and Advertisements from the 50's through the 70's. The details on these toys and giveaways are VERY thorough and VERY accurate. This book brings fun, and gives you more to look for to expand your McCollection!
