1 comments about Ain't Misbehavin': The Groundbreaking Program for Happy, Well-Behaved Pets and Their People.
- Hearing Dr. Wright speak, I bought this book on the spot. Dr. Wright does a great job applying behavior principles to common situations, in language non-behaviorists can understand.
You'll take away from his book the idea that you should look at your own unique pet in your own unique circumstances to pinpoint any behavior problems you may be having, letting just exactly what is happening, when, and where help you guess _why_. If you can guess the why, you can plan a way to intervene that will be effective -- and you'll learn how best to decide if you are indeed being effective. Dr. Wright also emphasizes assessing the mood of your dog and changing a bad mood to a good one in order to facilitate behavior change. He further gives good research-based information about reading dogs' body language and how to respond if a dog is fearful, aggressive, etc. But Ain't Misbehavin' doesn't just address problems such as aggression or separation anxiety. On the contrary, how to build a positive relationship with your pet (so problems don't appear) is a primary focus. In sum, a really good dog AND CAT training book that both gives you guidelines for living happily with your pet and offers suggestions for responding to serious problems.

2 comments about Understanding and Training Your Cat or Kitten.
- Despite the rather unwieldy title, this is a good book for the novice cat owner or even the experienced owner who wants to learn more. It seems oddly organized and structured at times, however. Sometimes it's a practical training handbook, at others a feline medical guide. It even ventures into autobiographical territory when it presents anecdotes of the author's veterinary experiences. Overall it's pretty informative, relaying neat facts about cat neurology, behavior, and growth and development. I recommend it.
- I have had several cats and kittens over my 50+ years and this was very helpful, with reasons why cats do the sometimes dreadful things they do, and ways to stop some of the behaviors.

5 comments about Cats Into Everything.
- This book did not match my expectations. It is fun to flip through and look at some of the images, but most of the photos are not very well done, too cluttered with everything, but the cats. The layout of the book is too cluttered, confusing too. That said, there are a few very nice shots and overall it's a fun book, but i still put it down with a bad taste in my mouth. If you're looking for cool pictures of animals in nice pet-friendly surroundings, but "Animal House Style" by Julia Szabo. It's a so much better book!
- Every kitten should come equiped with this book. If you don't like it, you ought to consult a physician. A no-BS, colorful, I-wanna-kittie book, we loved every page. But then...ours is a multi cat home with house cats, barn cats, in-the-studio cats and even yard cats. So maybe I'm a bit too subjective, waddya think?
It's not brain surgery, it is just plain cute. Right now I am ordering six more copies to send to friends and family. No kidding.
- This is another book by the authors of the Cat House. This is their story of how they live with the felines who run their home. It's both funny, touching, silly and amazing to what lengths they go to keep their furry brood happy. I can only say that they've exceeded my efforts, but only just. Best wishes to them and to the felines blessed to share their 9 lives with them.
- Amazing what cats can "Think" of to get into. Such delightful creatures to watch, enjoy, love!!!
- This is the second book by the authors of The Cats' House. We bought this copy for friends in B.C., and they tell us they love the ideas in the book. They also plan to "open up" the walls of their new home with cat-ways, make cat-tunnels between rooms, and paint everything in bright Mexi-colors. We can't wait to see how it turns out!
If you and your friends love color and cats too, this is the perfect gift!
