1. i bought this book originally because i own a sphynx and wanted to have some reference material about the breed.

   unforunately this book comes across as rich reference material in the description, but is anything but.

   it's written as though a parent is reading it to a child, or a child is reading it themselves. (read: language that is very rudimentary)

   ...they should move this into the children's section and not with the reference material.

   i do not recommend this book unless you are specifically purchasing it for a child who is unfamiliar with pets, and wants very very non-specific and general information about a cat.

   if you are looking for things specific to the breed such as standards, care and maintenance, common concerns, etc. this is the incorrect material to purchase.

   enjoy your sphynx and select the right books.




2. This is not a book if you are either are owned by a Sphynx (as I am a humbleservant to mine!!) or if you want to know more about this wonderful breed of cat.

   This is a book better suited for children than as a reference book on the breed. Good book for my nieces. You get nothing on breed standard, care and maintenance, special concerns about the cat. Such as, these are NOT hypo-alergenic cats, allergic to cats is allergic to cats, period. For eference material reguarding Sphynx cats lookk to the web, I have yet to find a good book dealing with this breed.

   I do not reccomend this book for new or prospective owners of the breed.

1. I'll admit I haven't read the book, but why should I? The breed's name is the Sphynx not sphinx. If the title's incorrect what about the information? I'll wait until there's a book that at least has the breed's name right.



2. This is a GREAT book on the Sphnyx cat. I have the book and the title of this book in the Amazon system is spelled incorrectly. The actual title is spelled the way the breed is spelled and should read, The Sphynx: The Hairless Cat. So ignore the first angry review - it's wrong!



3. I enjoyed this book but I wish someone would write a book in more detail on this wonderful feline!



4. It is a good book to learn basics about the breed - good recommendation for those not already knowledgeable with the breed.

1. Some nice pictures, but definately a childrens book. Not serious reference material.



2. Yes! Yes! Yes! Its a great kids book. Its published by Kids Cats and its worthwhile for the 4-10 set. I love this whole series and how it has taught our son more about the three cats we have at www.aliencattery.com
