- BASED ON TRUE EVENTS IT REALLY BRINGS TOO LIGHT WHAT SOME HAVE SACRAFICED FOR THIS COUNTRY!
MEL GIBBSONS BEST PERFORMANCE SINCE BRAVE HEART.
- One of the finest, gripping and compelling war movie ever (also Tora Tora Tora, The Longest Day and Sands of Iwo Jima). Think what you want about Mel Gibson, however, this cast is remarkable and believable in the midst of the most incredible and horrific of battle. Note to chicks: unless you get the horror of war and the nature of the soldier, you probably won't like this film. I have seen it three times and I still am in awe of the suffering and heroism of those who served.
- This movie drives it home very strongly how futile and painful war is. Hundreds of men sent to their deaths for no good reason, maybe that would have been a better name for this movie, "For No Good Reason".
A very moving war story shown partly from both sides about the tragedy and suffering involved when 2 armies decide to take each other on, no holds barred, in a full frontal assault.
Mel Gibson is true to form, a powerful and strong epic from a master actor and producer, he has been involved in many great movies over the last 25 years, and deserves full credit for yet another commanding performance, despite a few fopar's off screen, he really is a legend of the modern movie era.
- It is correct for us to honor free men who fought to keep others free. These are lessons that need to be taught to each generation. It is also correct for us to hear the counter argument. Heros can take that.
- This film is very intense, realistic and superbly shot. The production values are incredible. As a slice of life from the Vietnam era, the film captures the esprit de corps of the troops, the strength of the soldier's wives as well as the challenge of a new era in warfare. Mel Gibson is excellent. His sargeant, Sam Elliott, was a superb characterization of a tough sargeant who went through all three major parachute jumps in World War II. He is a no nonsense warrior.
All the more powerful is the portrayal of Gibson's faith in light of duty, courage and devotion to his men. Greg Kinnear did an excellent job as a challenged pilot creating a new Air-Cav warfare in the early days of Vietnam. His copilot "Too Tall" received the Congressional Medal of Honor decades ago. Kinnear's character finally received his CMH in the last year - long overdue.
Powerful. Memorable. Realistic.

5 comments about Zoolander (Special Collector's Edition).
- With preening self-importance and pouty narcissism already baked into the industry's DNA - torturing couture fashion almost certainly lacks good sportsmanship. Fashion has always been a satirists Piñata party so I was pleased that Zoolander went well beyond the clichéd "dumb model" premise to focus on the countless small affectations that make fashionistas well, fashionistas.
From the first scene where the shadowed, dimly recognizable outlines of fashion icons Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour and Donna Karan conspire to assassinate the Malaysian prime minister (whose new government threatens to outlaw clothing sweatshops) it is clear that the producers will gore every detail in the search for gut-busting comedy. Yes, Ben Stiller (Zoolander) and Owen Wilson (Hansel) are terrific as the vacuous supermodel savants who become unwittingly enlisted in the assassination plot - but, it is Will Ferrell and Ben's father, Jerry Stiller who steal the show. As an actor, Ferrell's trademark has been a glowering self-absorption that makes even his bad films worth the effort. As fashion-scion, "Mugatu" ("a defrocked member of `80s club band, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and inventor of the piano tie.") he is clearly at the top of his game and caused more than one of my friends to spit their drinks when he came on screen. His performance is classic and alone justifies the cost of the DVD. Finally, there's Jerry Stiller - wrapped in a designer jogging suit and 50 years of borscht belt shtick - Jerry's turn as "Balls" Model Agency Owner, Maury Ballstein is so Catskills lowbrow that not laughing is just not possible.
Just a fun movie - highly recommended.
- The 2001 film ZOOLANDER is a comedy about two male models, the eminent Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and the up-and-coming Hansel (Owen Wilson), who with the help of an investigative reporter (Christine Taylor) must thwart the plans of a megalomaniac fashion designer (Will Ferrell) to maintain third-world child sweatshop labour. Most of the humour in the film comes from Stiller's portrayal of Zoolander, a dimwitted manchild with a heart of gold, and the fact that the actor playing this male model isn't remotely glamourous. Myself, I really dig Hansel's character, the reincarnation of an Istanbul to Kathmandu trail hippie who resides in a festive warehouse flat with, among others, a Sherpa and a quartet of Finnish dwarves. The character is in some ways quite similar to that which Wilson played in THE ROYAL TENNENBAUMS, which appeared the same year. The supporting cast includes David Duchovny as a conspiracy theorist and Jerry Stiller as Zoolander's conflicted manager.
What is really remarkable about the film, however, is the huge amount of cameos, with over 30 celebrities making brief appearances. Certainly the film will be thought-provoking for criticizing the rampant use of child sweatshop labor in the garment industry, while the Hollywood idols within it continue to support designer fashion.
ZOOLANDER has entrenched itself into American culture, with quotations from the film popping up fairly often in the speech of my generation. While it is by no means a great work of art, it is sure to offer some laughs.
- I love this movie the only problem was I received it and it was defective it skipped never played and I contacted the company I bought it from and They never contacted me back it took forever to get my refund! Note to others buy anything off of Amazon get it straight from them never buy from an unknown company don't buy from The Good Company they have bad customer service and as far as I'm concerned are real con artist I don't trust them so take my word for it!:)
- This movie is ridiculously funny. If you're in the modeling industry, you may take offense to it. But I think anyone who can appreciate Ben Stiller making a complete fool of himself can appreciate this movie. In my opinion, this is one of Stiller's best.
- I love this movie, but the DVD didn't work. What a bummer. I must say Amazon did refund my money w/in two weeks after I returned the damaged item. It's just a pain to reorder, especially when you have to spend twenty extra bucks or pay for shipping.

- This movie has a bit of everything in it. Drama, humor and anything else you can think of that delights you. Of course Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy were the best anyway and wouldn't have done anything that they did not consider to be total entertainment. There are too few movies anymore that are of this class. Violence now seems to be all anyone makes anymore. Not the case here. Just wonderful entertainment and something okay for children to watch too.
- This Movie tugs at my heart cause I had just become separated from my spouse when it came out and I didn't have enough money to pay the electricity but I had a movie voucher for the theater up the street so I was able to retreat there for a few hours of Peace on a snowy day in Memphis.
This was a fine film with the great husband wife team of Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy. Miss Tandy plays a woman beset by alzheimers and Mr. Cronyn is her set upon husband who tries to keep them in their home of 40 years as a unscrupulous developer tries to tear the building down to build a yuppie haven.
Little living robots settle in the building and untimately help the residents push back the evil developers and save their homes.
The special effects were pretty neat and are the best part of the story. The plot after a promising beginning begins to wear thin after a while and the movie drags when the little UFO's aren't around.
There are a few laughs and some cute moments. Overall a nice movie to watch with the kids but there is some rough language in places.
- Jessica Tandy reminded me of my Grandmother. It's a sweet movie that all will love.
- As I told my kids about this movie I once saw about those cuddly little flying saucers, they were immediately keen to watch it. Seeing it for the second time after all these years, I enjoyed it even more than back then. Superficially, it is a well-constructed plot about the good guys and the bad guys, where the good guys get some unexpected help. Only the good guys are not the run-of-the-mill type young and good-looking heroes, but elderly and suffering from Alzheimer's disease, poor, a pregnant single mother to be, a mute ex-boxing champ, or a frustrated artist. Even the main bad-guy character is blessed with depth of character. Several subtle sub-plots turn the story into a sympathetic statement about human dignity. The superb acting of particularly Jessica Tandy adds a magical touch. The little UFO's were even better than I remembered. It must have been great fun to make this movie.
- This is a great movie for adult and children with an special touch of love....thanks !!!

5 comments about Old School (Widescreen Unrated Edition).
- Since I'm not only a fraternity man, but I help start the chapter at my school, I totally relate to humor in this film. We never did anything as extreme as what is presented in the film, but that's what Hollywood does. They take things that are kinda interesting, beef them up, and entertain you for an hour and a half.
Will Ferrell is great, Vince Vaughn is hilarious, and Luke Wilson's subtle wit shines.
This is a must have for any movie collection!!!
- This movie is very funny! if you enjoy the like of Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn, then this movie is made for YOU!!
- Some nice deleted scenes. Everyone knows this is a great movie. Perfect price for it and I loved the bonus materials.
- ...I watched it a second time. And a third time. And I continue to watch it, and it seemingly becomes funnier each time.
It's easy to find fault with "Old School": Will Ferrel's character doesn't have a job, as far as I can tell. Mitch-a-pa-looza, a giant house party for Luke Wilson, occurs on a Friday night...yet both Luke Wilson and his high school hook-up are at work and school the next day as if it's a weekday. The homages to "Fight Club" border on rip-offs. And the list goes on.
However, it doesn't matter. Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughan, and Will Ferrel are a comedic dream team. The laughs never stop, so the plot inconsistencies and lack of originality will never really bother you (unless you let them). Check your brain at the door and watch "Old School."
- I don't think there is enough space in this review window to do this movie justice! This is the movie that helped launch the careers of such celebrated comedians like Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson and Vince Vaughn! And man do they earn their honors with this movie! I think one of the things that makes this movie so widely loved is that it identifies with college students as well as people in their later 20s and 30s.
There are so much LOL moments in this that you'll barely have time to catch a breath. This is a worthy DVD buy because this movie has LOTS of rewatchability (is that even a real word????). You and your friends will get lots of mileage out of this one. And the nudity doesn't hurt either!

5 comments about Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead.
- I had seen this movie on the shelves for years and always said, "oh I need to rent that" and just never did. So, I bought it off Amazon since it would be cheaper than me renting anything, since I always end up with late fees. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It's just a fun light hearted movie that has a good message. I definantly recommend watching the movie.
- Christina Applegate is surprisingly good in this cult classic playing Sue Ellen. After the babysitter dies from old age, she finds herself responsible for her four younger brothers and sisters for the entire summer. As much as she hates it, Sue Ellen has to get a job to support them all. When she applies for a receptionist job with a clothing manufacturer, her fabricated resume lands her a job with the chief executive. This is a lighthearted movie with many funny scenes.
- I first saw this when I was a kid when HBO was playing constantly. I loved it then, and I'm surprised at how much I still enjoy it. Simply told, a poorly treated mother gets to escape for a summer with her boyfriend. She deems her daughter too immature and selfish to run the house, so she hires a baby sitter. Good call, except the old lady dies the first night. The story stays good, and the acting is decent for the kid and adult actors. Give it a try!
- This is a movie that came out a few years ago but is still a favorite of mine. It is a family classic and is enjoyable for all ages.
- I wish that they could've made this movie with less strong cuss words. It would otherwise be a good, funny, family movie. However, the stoner kids "f" words are too much. I wish I could show it because the underlying message is good & the kids pull it together in the end. I think that they were going for the teen sales and wanted to make it "cool".

5 comments about Seven (New Line Platinum Series).
- The seven deadly sins exemplified in this serial killer genre flick with a young Brad Pitt and the usual creepy performance by Kevin Spacey as the killer. Black and white cop buddy movies are a dime a dozen, but this one is saved by a decent script and good acting. The end is a gross out, but at least we are spared actually seeing it.
- all the tortures inflicted by the serial killer in this film pale next to having to watch brad pitt's horrible acting. and brad pitt's acting is better than the script.
- One of the most fearful movies I have ever seen. Just outstanding acting and suspense.
- Se7en is a film about 2 detectives trying to solve a murder case where the killer is executing people who he thinks have committed the 7 deadly sins. This thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat and has the best ending/climax that I have ever seen. This film will also act as a moral compass and make you think about your own beliefs about life, death, and sin. highly reccamended.
- Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman make Seven a must see. There are enough twists and turns to make the story go. Sometimes more obvious than it
needs to be, it still has great acting, solid story line, believeable characters and action.

5 comments about Kiki's Delivery Service.
- After buying Spirited Away - which my family loved, I wanted to purchase more movies by Hayao Miyazaki. Kiki's Delivery Service was AVERAGE, nice story but nothing that stands out, $24 was way too much for this movie.
- I admit this movie is REALLY cute and intended for a younger audience, but it speaks to the inner child in me. It has a real nice spin on kids gearing up to go be on their own. I was alos surprised (and elated) to hear the late, great Phil Hartman as the voice of GiGi.
- This film is filled with the wonder of childhood, elements of the adventure quest, a girls search for her place in the world, a story of friendship, confidence, trust in yourself. And optimism, that even in the face of hardships Kiki endures and recovers and believes in her self.
Stylistically it is beautiful. A reserved palette, original and quaint small town qualities, even a love of travel is presented with simple pastoral landscapes and a lovely city on the sea.
Such a gem of a film. Hopefully his films will soon be on Blu-Ray.
- KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE is a wonderful family film. My entire family - my husband, 11-year old daughter, 3-year old daughter, and me - all absolutely love Kiki. We have watched it many, many times, and it is still as fresh and cute and captivating as it was the first time.
KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE is the story of a 13-year old witch-in-training (voiced by Kirsten Dunst), who, in the tradition of her people, must leave home for a year, and make her own way in the world. She must find a new city and provide it a service. Her mother, whose talent is potion making, serves her city as a sort of cross between a pharmacist and a doctor. Kiki leaves her family at midnight on a beautiful, warm night with just her broom, her cat Jiji (voiced by Phil Hartman), and father's transistor radio. Once Kiki finds the perfect city, she settles right in to help. Since she has no special gift other than flying by use of her broom, she naturally sets up a delivery service, delivering packages and messages all over town.
Kiki learns about many things over the course of the year: responsibility, how to support herself, trust, belief in herself, loyalty, friendship, and even a first crush. She slowly finds her own way, learning and growing as she goes. By the end she is stronger, more sure of herself, and settled in her new community. She has made a life, through learning life's lessons.
Myazaki's animation is, as always, simply delightful. The rich textures and delicate details bring his characters to life. It is the little nuances that draw you in: the way the wind tousles Kiki's hair, the expressions on Jiji's face, the depth of the background scenery. The pallet is soft and lovely. The entire film is quite gorgeous.
As I said earlier, my entire family is enthralled by Kiki's coming of age story; none more so than my youngest daughter. For Halloween last year (2007), she wanted to be a witch. I asked her if she wanted to be a witch like the one in the Little Einsteins' Hansel and Gretel episode or one like Kiki. "I want to be Kiki, Mommy! I want to be Kiki!!!" She was very definite on that point. So she had a black dress, red shoes, a red hair bow, a small broom, and a stuffed Jiji (ordered from Japan!). She was so excited and so cute. I think the impression that KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE made on a then 2 year old speaks volumes. This quiet, simple story of learning to be happy with and to trust in yourself is timeless and appeals to all ages and generations.
- I could see why some people wouldn't appreciate this film. If you wrote the plot down on a piece of paper, this film would look pretty dull. Girl witch leaves home, she meets some people, makes some deliveries, etc. So, I perfectly understand why some may find it boring. The story of Kiki's Delivery Service is really more character-driven than plot-driven. I feel the movie really excels in this department. The characters are very likeable/endearing. I fully enjoyed seeing Kiki come into her own as she gained some confidence in a new place. Overall, this is just a simple, sweet film about growing up, and I think "Kiki's Delivery Service" really succeeds in being this. I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a quieter non-violent film.
P.S.- Aside from the film (which is excellent), I must complain about the bonus features, which suck. The second disc only contains storyboards, which most people (including me) will not watch (because they are boring). There's an intro from John Lasseter (why?) which just consists of him telling us in five minutes about how great the movie is. Then there's a small interview with the English voice actors. I just wished there was something better, like a making-of. Still, this doesn't detract from the overall excellent film.

5 comments about Being There.
- The word 'awful' doesn't even get near to describing how bad this movie is. 'Appalling' or 'crass' would be more apt, but even then I would be tempted to use an expletive intensifier with it. The idea itself has some sort of value, there is some satire in the motiff of a pure simpleton becoming the most listened to man in any major political regime, never mind the White House. And yet...! And yet the outcome here is a terribly contrived, horrendously artificial, and maddeningly overwritten piece of cliche.
The thing is, I like some of the actors in it. The actor who plays the pres - sorry, I can't remember his name - is a pretty good character actor who adds a bit of colour to films he's in, and Ms McClaine is a fine female foil and always entertaining. Then there is Sellers - the man is a bona fide genius, I love him as an actor, there is no one who quite shares his gift for characterisation, not Sim, not even Guinness. But his judgment was way off when he took on this preposterously OTT role. A screenplay like that should have gone straight in the bin, and his agent should have been sacked for giving it to him. The whole thing is just so painful to watch, a blatant and totally predictable narrative is so slowly, so uninterestingly constructed and there is hardly any dramatic tension in it, even at the points where the screenwriter has demanded their should be some, but it is just lifelessly directed, so flatly played by everyone, seemingly concentrating so hard on playing it straight, including Sellers, that it just comes across as flat, one dimensional, and artificial. A TRULY awful project from beginning to end, no way at all to be remembering one of the greatest comedy actors of cinema. And I don't agree with the consensus that this was a great performance. To me, this seriously overworked and privately troubled man looked in dire need of a complete rest.
- It's been nearly three decades (ugh!) since I saw this film in the theater and always remembered it as being one of the great movies of all time - intelligent, witty, satirical, and thought-provoking. Sadly, I hadn't had a chance (no pun intended) to see it since and, while browsing for something to watch that would transport me to another place (something that all good movies should do), I remembered "Being There." To my great delight, I was surprised to find a copy.
Needless to say, I was absolutely thrilled with my decision to buy this movie. The wit and humor remain as powerful today as it was when the movie was first shown. The only part that seemed "dated" where the 70's clothes and styles but that only ads to the movie's "character."
Granted, the movie may appear "slow" to some but, like a good piece of music, every moment needs to be savored in order to fully appreciate every nuance of the magnificent script and brilliant performance of each actor; without question, this was Peter Sellers' finest performance, Shirley McLaine was magnificent, Melvyn Douglas was brilliant, and Richard Dysart was superlative.
The film is fraught with all kinds of unanswered (but intriguing) questions which leave intelligent audiences with countless topics for discussion. For example, just who (or what) was Chauncey Gardner? Other reviews (rather disturbingly) refer to Sellers' character as "learning disabled," "retarded," a "simpleton," and other epithets and yet, other than the hilarious comments by the maid that Gardner "has no brains at all. Stuffed with rice pudding between the ears. Short-changed by the Lord and dumb as a jackass" we really don't know why he led such a bizarrely sheltered life that centered on his need to watch TV and his childlike behavior that exuded strength and confidence to so many others. Why was "Chancy" left alone? By whom? Why did the maid leave Chauncey after having taken care of him for so many years?
Of course, that's all part of the mystery that makes this such a sublime masterpiece - there are a lot of questions for which answers are not needed in order for the genius of this film to succeed. People will continue to debate the mysteries of the film including such things as who stated ""I understand" at the death bed of one of the characters, or the meaning of very last scene, forever. Obviously, there are no real answers to these and trying to answer them is simply futile. I would strongly suspect that that was exactly what this film was trying to accomplish - to get people to argue over something that really doesn't exist (or doesn't matter) - while, at the same time, ignoring more important issues. The real brilliance of the movie; however, is found with the amount of satire - almost nothing is sacred in this movie if one has that courage to really take a good look at exactly what is being said. Every word (especially those uttered by Sellers) is spoken with precisely the right amount of meaning, nuance, and inflection required. Some may feel that this movie is "slow" but the slothfulness of the main character and his careful, yet simplistic, dialog with others (in contrast to the constant cacophony of a blaring TV which he surrounds himself with), is precisely what makes this movie so great.
- It is obvious that some portions of the movie were cut out on the dvd version of Being There which was disapointing to me. I don't know if the vhs version is the complete film or not, but I would have opted for vhs if it was a complete version of the film.
- wanted to burst into tears. I like movies that are long, with character development, but this isn't one of them. I can't believe how many people gave this movie 4 or 5 stars. This is a movie/plot that could have been cut down to 90 minutes and STILL have been way too long of a movie. Lastly, what the heck was up with the ending?! I didn't get that at all. My family and I sat there and stared at each other blankly when the credits started rolling, then had to watch another movie to try to erase the painful memories of that one. Ugh.
- I missed "Being There" when it came out and I never seemed to find it later on TV so I finally rented it to see what all the excitement was about. I now understand the reputation it has accrued and I must say that I really did enjoy it. I can't see my way to rating it with "5 Stars" but "4 Stars" is certainly an indication of my respect and appreciation of this quality film. I laughed out loud on several occassions but the more common reaction I got was one of curiosity. Although everything that takes place in "Being There" seems to be normal, I never knew what to expect next. That's because, in the midst of all these characters who play their expected roles, there is one person who is completely out of place. Right from the beginning we are aware of who this character is and why he is so out of place. We just aren't prepared for the places he goes, the people he meets and the things he does. At times we see the parody of lifestyles, at times the parody of philosphies, at time the parodies of relationships, and at times the parodies of something else (we may not fully grasp what the parody is of...but we know it must be a parody).
The movie, will draw you in if you let it. Although I am often too pragmatic for my own good, I found it easy to be drawn into "Being There". A cursory look at some other reviews tells me others were not. I think the way this movie succeeds is the way the character was set up for us. I recall seeing "The Sixth Sense" years ago when it came out. I was insulted not by the movie but by a trailer in which the writer and director reviewed scenes in which a deceased character was able to believe that he was actually alive based on his perceived interaction with living persons. Their contention was; See! You doubted that this could happen but we just showed you how it could! OK, I thought, that proves your point for those 7 or 8 scenes but they took place over several days at least and you don't account for what this character did the rest of his time. In "Being There" we never need to concern ourselves with such pragmatic issues because we know that Chance Gardner is usually going to be off by himself watching TV. We can accept that the only scenes with him interacting with others were the only ones that actually occurred. (My pragmatism often works overtime). We can accept him as he is which enables viewers like myself to then accept everything else that happens as well.
The ending is a bit peculiar and left me reviewing what I had seen. There is an opportunity to elevate the meaning of "Being There" depending on how you react to that final scene. Personally, I thought it was simply more parody only this time it was of us.

5 comments about Pilgrim's Progress: Journey to Heaven.
- For those of us who love Johnn Bunyan and reading, watching this movie is highly exciting and inspiring. I don't watch television and watch very few movies. This movie has an excellent and encouraging message for Christians, especially timely for these difficult times. Reading the book, which was the most widely read book for over two centuries, second only to the Bible, will help you grow in your faith. it contains hundereds of scripture verses. The movie is honoring of the book, considering time and budget! Great for new believers and those believers who are struggling. This movie is more than 2 dimensional, as some other reviews, I believe are perceiving it.
- this movie is great.i love it because it show how much we have to go through for the sake of jesus.how the enemy come at us in all his power, but he don't have power over the true believers of god.no matter what you go through as long as you stick with jesus and obey him you will get your eternal rewards.it's not about getting to heaven that satisfied god but getting us back to rule over earth as he attended, that's why he is going to create a new heaven and (earth).heaven is just a temporary place for our spirit to dwell at.
- This movie was poorly produce and poorly acted - things which can be overlooked if the story is told well. So, I thought "How can you beat Pilgrim's Progress - it is a classic of Christianity?" Unfortunately, this is not John Bunyan's story. Oh, it is faithful to many of the elements of the original but there are additions and subtractions that change the story. In the book, when Christian is at the cross and his burden falls off it rolls into the empty tomb - one of the most important images in the whole story. In the movie the burden simply dissapears.
The pace of the movie is very slow and they fill the space with evangelical cliches which over simplify the gospel. Bunyan would be dissapointed with the theology imported into his story. This dumbing down of Evangelical Christianity is prevelant through the movie.
I was dissapointed with the acting, the special effects and the changed theology. Don't waste your time with this one. Read the book!
- This movie is one of the most convicting and encouraging movies I've seen in quite a while. If you haven't taken stock of your relationship with God lately by challenging yourself, you will have lots to gain by watching Pilgrims Progress. I found myself walking along with the characters, all along challenging myself to deepen my walk with Jesus and challenging myself as to whether or not I can serve as I should. The movie walks at just the right pace to keep your attention and to draw you from one challenge to the next. The characters make it easy to put yourself in their shoes as well as to relate to others that cross you life's paths. My father-in-law has not sat completely through a movie at my house in the past 15 years. He has always nodded off. But, at the conclusion of Pilgrims Progress last night, he commented to me how it was the first movie that held his attention from start to finish. He told me that every time he got ready to leave the room, something else grabbed his attention. I believe so strongly that this movie can and will be used by God that I have purchased multiple copies to give to my neighbors. My family has watched this five times so far in the past week: my children love it (10 year old girl and 12 year old boy). This may seem excessive perhaps, but there is something in this movie that speaks to my soul-that says "we cannot give up; we must pursue Jesus at all costs." It spurs me on toward my goal of pleasing Jesus and of not being ashamed at His return. You will do well to purchase this for yourself and see what I'm talking about. Excellent!
- This is a wonderful movie that very accurately describes the true walk of a Christian through this world on his/her journey to heaven. Did a great job of capsulizing the book's events and message into a movie, keeping true to the Gospel, and keeping the viewer engaged. We stayed glued to the screen, and you can't help but watch this one over again! Great discipling tool, to help believers count the cost and stay in the faith. One of my favorite Christian movies alongside Luther and the Gospel of John.

- Rob Bell has received a great deal of criticism in his career for a variety of reasons. Some might have some merit, but most come out a desire for him to be something he is not. He is not a world class Biblical Scholar; he is not the greatest theological mind; he is not a person that will champion conservative ideologies, nor liberal. If you desire any of these things from this man, do not buy his work for you will be disappointed.
But if you are looking for a thoughtful person engaging with faith, culture, and life, then you might have found someone that will really speak to you in a refreshing confession of Christian faith.
Rob Bell is a pastor with a heart for humanity. He is a person that desires to unite, rather than divide. He is a person who recognizes the burden of our society and addresses them in faithful ways and "Everything Is Spiritual" is a wonderful testimony of God at work within Humanity.
I was blessed to watch this. And I trust that those who have ears to hear will come away from this experience moved in profound ways.
- I just watched this video last night and was absolutely FLOORED. Rob Bell starts this lecture off with the famous Genesis 1 intro: "In the beginning..." and breaks down the original Hebrew text in a way that will give ANYONE (Christian or non-Christian alike) a new appreciation for the text. But he goes on to weave in physics and astronomical insight about the universe and the fine tuning of gravitational order (i made that phrase up i think...) and blows your mind with the WONDER of how the entire universe can be SOO perfectly tuned "just so" that life on earth can be sustained... you have to watch this! i come from a literature AND a mathematical background and was captivated. i don't care if you are a believer of God or not.. this will leave you THINKING, asking questions, wanting to discuss this stuff with your other nerdy friends... wanting to FIND OUT MORE about this God who breathed everything into order. -- Christiane Lucas
- Rob Bell has truly been blessed with the capability to speak with such confidence and intelligence without looking at a single note.
"Everything is Spirtual" is not like your NOOMA video. Its a lot longer. And the facts are astonishing. I loved it, and I recommend everyone get the chance to watch it!
- We saw Rob Bell "live" sharing this information with some of our youth group so when I found that it was available on DVD I immediately bought it! We gave them away as graduation gifts and watched it again and again as a group. Everything IS spiritual and Rob does a great job presenting truth as mind boggling as it is. PLEASE buy this and share it with young and old alike.
- Rob Bell hits this one out of the park. He's got the ability to use science, history and Biblical fact to drive the point home. A Great Buy!
