5 comments about Dragon's Fat Cat (Dragon Tales).
  1. My 3 & 5 years old children loved dragon after reading this book ...we've been reading it again & again & they never said enough ...the adorable ,cute drawings really attract the kids & make them in love with that dragon ...the story is about a dragon who is sitting infront of the fireplace in a snowy weather ..he hears a "meow" sound outside ..he opens the door to find a cold fat cat.....fun events will follow when the dragon wants to take care of his new pet ...then like going to the beginning the cat is lost ...he looks for her ..he hears "meow" again & here comes the fun part ...the cat had babies ....wow ! you can't imagine how happy & excited the kids will be .....wonderful story ..Great from Pilkey ..

  2. We have been reading this book to our daughter since she was about 9 months old. She loves pointing to the pictures and as she's gotten older (she is almost 2 now) she has enjoyed "counting" the cats, imitating the emotions and gestures of Dragon and the mailmouse, and saying the words as she learns them... it's a great game, and she really seems to laugh at all the right places. Even though this is a chapter book for early readers, I think any child will enjoy the pictures and story, especially if she or he has pets around. I'm going to be getting more of the series with all of her gift certificates from Christmas!

  3. I purchased this book for my almost 5 year old daughter. She can't get enough of Dragon. Dav Pilkey is my hero..he has created such a lovable and endearing character. And the illustrations are adorable. I highly recommend this book and any others in this series.

  4. This is one childrens' book I am going to keep forever! It is sweet, thoughtful and teaches children about the multiple meanings expressions can have. I wish the publisher would put this one on the perpetual list. It should be right up there with childrens' classics.

  5. This is by far the best series for first graders. All five books are truly funny, sophisticated, and enjoyable for any age, yet the simple words are perfect for advanced early readers not yet ready for chapters. There is nothing else like it at this reading level. They should be in every first grade classroom. PLEASE PRINT MORE!

5 comments about Mutts Shelter Stories: Love. Guaranteed..
  1. I awaited the release of this book very eagerly, looking forward to seeing a lovely little all-black shorthair cat named Pauline featured as a starlet. And there she is, cute as can be!

  2. Pet lovers and those who enjoy the Sunday funny pages have a treasure indeed in "Mutts Shelter Stories: Love. Guaranteed.", a compilation of over one hundred of McDonnell's Mutts comic strips; on the opposite page of each strip are full color photos of pets found in animal shelters and their heartwarming success stories. A perfect gift for the dog or cat lover, "Mutts Shelter Stories: Love. Guaranteed." is highly recommended for community library pet and humor collections.

  3. Great for any pet lover or aspiring owner. You'll be moved to run to the shelter on your lunch break and make a new home for some eager little animal. Thanks Patrick McDonnell! Love Mutts. Love this book!

  4. Every pet owner should read this to understand the realities of what happens. Then pass it along to their children. Shelters are overwhelmed with these stories. Some end well, but many more do not.

  5. What a wonderful book. I had received it as a gift initially then purchased a copy for another animal lover. It is the best gift for those who have a tender spot in their heart for shelter/rescue dogs.

3 comments about Monkey See, Monkey Die (Reigning Cats & Dogs Mysteries).
  1. Veterinarian Jessica Popper uses a mobile van to bring her practice to her patients. Currently she is snuggled in bed with her fiancé Nick Burby when the phone rings early in the morning. Veterinarian Erin Walsh, whom she has not seen in five years, asks to meet Jess that morning; the implication to Jess is Erin is deeply troubled and afraid. Erin fails to arrive at their meeting point.

Later that same day, Jess learns that Erin was murdered; strangled to death with scorpion venom in her system. When Jess makes a condolence call to Erin's husband Ben, the vet is stunned to see that her late schoolmate lived in a tasteless McMansion. Ben has made a fortune as partner to Donald Drayton in a pet store chain Pet Empawrium. Jess, unable to resist being Jess, investigates only to find several people with motives to want Erin dead including Ben.

Pet lovers and amateur sleuth fans will enjoy MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DIE due to the antics of the humanistic pets; ironically when the killer traps Jess, her would be rescuer is four legged. With the wedding four weeks away, Jess suffers panic attacks over holy matrimony but not over deadly sleuthing. Fans will wonder whether the commitment phobic heroine will say I do.

    Harriet Klausner

  2. I love reading Cynthia Baxter's books. They are full of information, not just a fiction piece. This one has info on scorpions. I can never wait for the next installment. I am so glad she soon will have two series to keep me reading.

  3. I always look forward to the next "Reining Cats and Dogs" mystery as they are alway a great read. This one is no different, it is another winner.

5 comments about Slinky Malinki.
  1. I'm 18 and a freshman in college and I was read this book all the time when I was a kid. I still love it. After a discussion about children's books, I remembered how much I'd loved this particular book and came to Amazon to buy a copy.

The SLJ review made me sad. I read all the time as a young child. I was a strong reader before even starting kindergarten and spent at least six days of the week at the library. I can't remember the huge majority of books I've read, but this one stands out to me. I adored this book as a child and it made enough of an impression on me to come looking for it 14 years later.

  2. My favorite cat name to recite from "Harry Maclary, Scattercat" has always been "Slinky Malinki..." Turns out I am not alone, and Lynley Dodd graduated the ebony meowser from footnote to full-on protagonist, with a series of his own.... This is the first volume of the S. Malinki saga, in which a kleptomaniac kitty-cat goes prowling through the neighborhood, kiping old gloves, sneakers and bits of string. When his pile of trashy treasures topples over at home, Slinky's secret is discovered, and he has to quit his klepto ways. Once again, Lynley Dodd's artwork is a delight, and the bouncy rhymes propel us along as well. A fun book, even if the protagonist is a sneak thief...

  3. My daughter got this book when she was 3 years old and she still remembers all the words. This well-loved book won't make it to another child. I never knew that there were more Slinky Malinki books until I found this one online. I will definitely buy those ones also.

  4. My almost-3-year old son has loved this book for the past year. We've read it so many times that he, my husband, and I can recite whole sections of it. The rhymes are infectious, and the language is great -- not dumbed-down for kids.

  5. An excellent picture book by a fantastic writer and illustrator. All of her picture books are consistently great. Use of pattern and language which make children want to hear the story over and over. Pictures are excellent with lots to look at

5 comments about Waiting for Your Cat to Bark?: Persuading Customers When They Ignore Marketing.
  1. Nearly every business book has at least one or two good ideas. However, every so often you get a book that's really just a piece of what's often called Spiral Marketing. Sprial Marketing is a technique in which you use a book, pamphlet, website or other low-cost entry point to capture an initial group of customers. Although you make some profit on the initial entry point, the main goal of that entry is to get you to purchase the next level, usually a set of videos or seminar. There is profit built into this second level as well, but even that's just a front to capture the big fish into longer term consulting. This book contains a smattering of theories, concepts and ideas (most of which are lifted from other sources such as Maslow, MBTI and general advertisting), accompanied by some professional looking illustrations. You have to admire the way it is able to continually flirt with the answers while never quite giving them away - you'll have to commit to the $150 consulting fees for that. And if you are interested in the consulting, I'll save you some money on that as well. Judging from the almost immediate mentions of Yahoo keywords, the foreward from a Yahoo executive and the $50 credit towards the service I'm guessing Yahoo keywords is pretty much the heart of what they call "Persuasion Architecture."

  2. In terms of selling "themselves" and why you might want to use their services, this book barks loud. In terms of persuasive customer techniques, this book is a bit light on real content.

A good book on how to truly engage customers is Lois Kelly's "Beyond Buzz: The Next Generation of Word of Mouth" marketing. She understands customers don't ignore marketing, rather they demand marketing that has meaning and engages them authentically. Beyond Buzz: The Next Generation of Word-of-Mouth Marketing

  3. An astonishing feat, amazing accomplishment. Putting forth the vision of a structural framework in understandable terms. Concepts that can easily be envisioned by the small business or the Global 500.

Stunning economy of scale. Presenting a coherent grid map to the future of marketing in under 250 pages.

You don't need magic or voodoo or hyper intelligence. This is a map, a process - not simple - not quick, but a entire end to end process that when worked through and completed, filling in all the appropriate blanks beginning with 'Uncovery', will give you a measurable response to your challenge which can in itself be tweaked and refined through all iterations in your 'Marketing Cycle'.

Pavlov used a dog. Would the same experiment have worked with a cat. Enticing a cat is only a little easier than herding cats. Mass Media is dead. You've heard by now of 'Longtail'. This is the road map for the next phase.

The first half through Chapter 13 lays a ground work to support the vision with known concepts and practices and a quick run through of the history of commerce. Customer's perceptions and responses have changed and some of the subtleties are highlighted here. The 'what's in it for me' outlook of the new consumer is addressed.

Yet this is only the beginning. These ideas have been in the heart of every marketer / sales person since time immemorial. Now they're presented in terms and visuals that can be presented to the newest greenest recruit in your team in a fashion that can be built upon through a lifetime career or avocation.

The concept of a *(Magic, secret, special, hidden, lost) Framework that only needed the proper application of known and knowable facts and procedures to produce the 'Answer', has long been a goal of civilization - The Abacus, The Analytical Engine. As your minds eye begins to perceive the illumination thru chapters (14 - 23) you can see that the authors have articulated a vision in more ways than one, The 'Visual' of the 'Framework', 'the matrix'. 'The matrix' in multiple dimensions is priceless and will be remembered. The Authors recognize that their new concepts are just a beginning.

This book shows you the tools to answer those three questions that should be asked throughout your operation.
    1. Who are we trying to persuade to take the action?
    2. What is the action we want someone to take?
    3. What does that person need in order to feel confident taking that action?

Persuasion Architecture, Persona-lization, Uncovery, these are terms you will use for the rest of your life.

This a 'Must Read' for every serious marketer.

The book comes with a CD containing an 80 minute Q&A session with the authors, a PDF full text copy of the book, and a $50 credit on Yahoo! Sponsored Search (new users only).

Waiting for Your Cat to Bark?: Persuading Customers When They Ignore Marketing

  4. I thought this book was one of the most inspiring books I read in 2006. It doesn't present any groundbreaking news, but it does make you eager to get out there and improve your marketing. I put up quotes and drawings based on the book by my workplace -- to get the inspiration from the book to last longer.

  5. Dogs are easily motivated to respond to stimuli. Cats aren't so cooperative. Potential buyers used to behave pretty much like dogs--responding to advertising by running out to buy a product. Even in the B2B world, a sales rep or an ad campaign could move prospects easily toward a purchase. Today, buyers prefer to make their own informed brand choices. They are as difficult to herd as, well, cats. The solution: The authors have invented a `persuasion architecture' that enables sellers to provide an information experience that's individually meaningful to buyers. It marries the two-sided buying/selling process with the marketing communications flow. "Its focus, always, is persuading the customer to take action." To keep buyers moving toward a positive decision, sellers must ask again and again:

    * Who are we trying to persuade to take the action?
    * What is the action we want someone to take?
    * What does the person need in order to feel confident taking that action?

Successful marketers guide prospects toward informed decisions through touch points, such as the web, print or television ads, and in-person contacts. The buyer's voluntary participation is required, because "you are always the equivalent of `one click' away from goodbye." Pervasive Internet usage for pre-purchase research creates marketing opportunity. For example, the shift to flat screen TVs enables savvy sellers to become your new best friend. Buying a TV with a tube was easy. Who understands flat screens? If you can guide us gently toward a positive decision, you win. Implementing persuasion architecture will help position your organization as the provider of choice for:

    * Relevant, reliable information
    * An enjoyable buying experience
    * Products and services that precisely meet client needs

In fact, persuasion architecture as a core component of content marketing may be just the competitive advantage you need to succeed with those hard to herd clients.

5 comments about Bunnicula Strikes Again! (Bunnicula).
  1. I think alot of people should read this book if they're not sure what to read.It is fun book to read, because of it's conflics, bravery, adventure, and humor. This book can apeal to all young and old people. It's and overall great book to read especially if your a young adult and want something fun to read.

The one central problem of this book involves a bunny. It acts weird like a vampire. It acts so much like a vampire, it sucks juice out of vegetables and has a coat like a vampire cape. Later in the book the main characters have to find Bunniculas mother for "Mother's Day", because Bunnicula was adopted by the Monroes family when they found him at a movie theatre. The quest leads them to more problems and conflics. All these problems and conflics make the book so exciting. This book needs to be read by all students of all schools in the country. Who knows maybe the President

  2. My Students Love these Books, from when I was a kid they were Popular in Monthly Book orders.

  3. After the Monroe family found Bunnicula in the movie theater, and all of the frenzy that came along with him, when they brought him home and things died down, normal is how Harold would describe their home. But just like what happened in the Adventures of Sherlock, Harold soon finds out that anything is subject to change. And tons of changes come his way.

Bunnicula seems to have lost all of "the sparkle in his eyes" and his energy whenever Toby and Pete take him out of his cage to play. Although oblivious at first, Harold begins to worry that something is wrong with Bunnicula. Could he be sick?

Chester knows for certain that it has nothing to do with being sick; he is set on Bunnicula acting this way because he wants to cause trouble. Chester saw what Bunnicula had done before... sucking up all of the juices from the vegetables! Of course, Chester doesn't want Bunnicula to strike again, so his infamous plans are put into action.

On the side, the Monroe family is trying to save the movie theater, where they found Bunnicula, from being torn down, since it's a landmark in Centerville. Ironically, though, the last movie they will be playing is Dracula. Could this possibly have anything to do with why Bunnicula is acting weird?

It's up to Harold and Howie to crack the case, and to make sure Chester doesn't go too far -- or it just might be the end!

BUNNICULA STRIKES AGAIN! is a very entertaining sequel to the hit BUNNICULA. Once again, Harold writes and narrates the story, making the tale even more humorous. Fans of the first book will definitely want to sink their teeth into this one, especially if they want to know what Bunnicula and even Chester are up to now.

  4. I searched the web for some books to keep my ten-year old granddaughter reading this summer. I came across these mystery books about Bunnicula (a bunny). I bought two of the series and in a day and half my granddaughter had read them. Unlike so many of the mystery books out there today, the Bunnicula series is full of suspense (but not frightening), humorous but not corny, just good old fashion mystery books. I ended up purchasing the entire series and she loved all of them.

4 comments about Warrior: The Cat Star Chronicles.
  1. A medicinal healer on the planet Utopia, Tisana is used to people stopping by her cabin to access her skills of healing. Alone and lonely, unless she has a patient, she is left alone by the members of her town. When Rafe, an ex-lover, shows up with his unconscious and beaten slave, Tisana is immediately intrigued. Tisana promises her ex-lover to have the slave healed in a month's time as he requests - not knowing that in less time she and the powerful looking slave will fall in love.

Leo, the name given to him by his healer, is an alien from Zetithia. With Zetithia destroyed years ago, Leo knows he is probably the only survivor. Leo yearns for freedom but he also yearns for his beautiful nurse Tisana. As Leo heals under Tisana's loving care, the couple falls in love. Much to their dismay, however, their month is cut short when Leo's owner arrives and needs Leo's and Tisana's help. The owner's young sons have been kidnapped and since Leo is Zetithian, he is called to help track and find the missing boys.

Tisana accompanies her old lover and Leo on the hunt. Rafe needs Tisana for her healing skills as well as her skills as a witch. All along the way Leo and Tisana are ultra aware of each other, never knowing if they will ever be free to love each other again.

I read and loved SLAVE, Cheryl Brooks first installment of The Cat Star Chronicles. Because of this, it was a given that I would have to read WARRIOR. The amazing world built by Ms. Brooks drew me in but it was the well written plot and entrancing two main characters that kept me there. I could feel Tisana's loneliness and desire to find the one man fated for her. Leo's sexy and sensual prowess was over the top playful but emotional and tender as well.

A worthy second installment, WARRIOR by Cheryl Brooks, whet my appetite for more! I can't wait for my next visit to the world that this talented author writes about. ***Natasha Smith for Romance Junkies***

  2. This is the second book by Cheryl Brooks and it's a really enjoyable read. It's written in the first person which is a little unusual but works well for the heroine of our story, the witch Tisana, and her ability to speak with animals. Tisana's a great character with a somewhat wry outlook on life - when her former lover Rafe dumps a seriously ill man on her doorstep, expecting her to heal him, she imagines she'll be caring for the mystery man for a month. However once Tisana's cleaned him up he discovers he's rather unusual - he is clearly an alien from another planet, has many features which are rather cat-like and his equipment is second to none. He also recovers very quickly but, knowing he's a slave, tries to escape.

It doesn't take Tisana long to explain to the man whom she names Leo that although he's a slave she won't treat him like one. When Rafe comes back asking for Tisana's help to track a group of men who have kidnapped Rafe's two sons, Tisana and Leo agree to help - along with an ever-growing menagerie of animals. Some of the best moments in this book were where Tisana talks to horses, squirrels, vultures and dogs, and the author's ability to let you see how such animals might consider the odd behaviour of humans was great fun.

As Tisana, Leo and Rafe follow the trail of the kidnappers Tisana realises that Rafe knows more about why his children have been stolen than he will explain. Can Tisana bargain for Leo's freedom by helping Rafe? Is there more going on in Rafe's family than initially appears? Can Tisana and Leo make a new life for themselves?

The author has an easy writing style which meant this book never dragged and the characters were all different and interesting. At the very end there is a brief scene with characters from her previous book, 'Slave', but there isn't any problem understanding this book without having read the first one. My only slight reservation was that it was hard to get into Leo's head and understanding his motivations a lot of the time, but this can be a problem with books written in the first person and it did lend him a rather otherworldly and mysterious air! I certainly enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to the next in the Cat Star Chronicles series.

  3. Warrior: The Cat Star Chronicles by Cheryl Brooks has got to be one of the most sensually imaginative books that I've ever read and it gives us an entirely new meaning to the words, "Tongue tantalizing, lip smacking, finger licking good". Whew! You gals want a hot book, well go no further because this one will sizzle your panties right off.

Tisana is a witch of rare talents. Her main talent though is healing and as with all healers they are a gentle sort who take care of anyone who might land upon their doorstep. Even gentle as she is, Tisana can still flay the skin off your back with words as sharp as razors that roll off her wicked tongue when you tick her off. For the most part though she is smart, sensitive, intelligent and oh so lonely.

Leo is the name that Tisana has given him since his true name is much to hard to pronounce. He is an off worlder as they call anyone not of their planet but an off worlder with talents that would make even the most virile of men weep with envy. Extraordinarily beautiful almost to perfection, he purrs like a kitten when stroked and fights like a tiger when provoked. With eyes of a cat and curiosity to match, Leo is much more than what he seems to be.

Our story starts out with Leo being almost dead and dropped at Tisana's cottage by his owner and master Rafe who just happens to be Tisana's ex. Rafe gives Tisana thirty days to heal Leo and not a day longer. Can she possibly bring this off worlder back from the brink of death without any working knowledge of Leo's species.

What starts out so innocently as a healer/patient scenario quickly turns into an inferno of lust with the most exotic description of Leo's attributes that I have had the pleasure of reading about in any male species. The old adage, "If it smells like a rose it must be a rose", well that's perfectly true here and let's just say, "Damn.........I need a bib"!

Our author has given us a sci-fi tale of true love, hot sex and even hotter orgasms. A magical story of hope, love and devotion so deep that to lose that which you love so much would mean the snuffing out of your own life like the wind blowing out a candle. Kudo's for the Snap, Snap, Sizzle, Sizzle that will leave you panting for more.

  4. Wow! I thought Ms. Brooks' first story Slave was a goodie - well she has completely outdone herself with Warrior. Tisana is a witch dealing with the same angst as the rest of us - finding "the one." LEO IS IT! The strong silent type all the way!!!! Yippie! This couple goes on an adventure, but it's Tisana's 'gift' of being able to talk to animals that makes this story a complete blast! I loved the part with Gerald the squirrel (of COURSE I was reading in public when I came up on that part of the book...) This story will keep you hot and laughing at the same time! Wow! Now if I could find a man who could do both of this at the same time! We have to wait six months until the next story!!! HURRY UP!!!

Jaynee is determined to find her mate and nothing is going to get in her way. Since she's a witch, she has a better chance then most. Unfortunately, even though she and her coven have searched for what feels like forever to find a spell to bring them mates, they've had no luck. When Janyee decides to sit back, drink some wine and create her own spell, she never expects it to actually work. Instead, that's exactly what happens. When the spell brings her two men instead of just one, Jaynee realizes she's hit the jackpot.

Luc's planet is at war with Dare's. When both realize that they need to bond with Jaynee, they have to figure out a way not to fight with each other. First though, they need to convince Jaynee to submit to them and to fall into her passionate nature. Only this will help save all of their worlds.

    SEX ME DOWN

Laynee is Jaynee's very shy and introverted sister. She'd love nothing more than to be left alone in her sister's bookstore reading. When her sister contacts her and tells her how to find her mates, Laynee is sure Jaynee is full of it. However, she decides to take a chance on love and creates her spell. When she comes face-to-face with Fayne and Sayre, men from two opposing planets, she realizes her life is about to turn upside down. Both men are at war with the Bannarts, a group of evil alien beings determined to take over their planets and their women. The only way to stop them is to form triads to stop the Bannarts from stealing and impregnating the women to create a more powerful evil army. Will Fayne and Sayre be able to bring Laynee's passion to the forefront and create a triad with her before it's too late for all three of them?

    SEX ME ALL AROUND

When Dax and his twin brother Rage discover a spell book telling them it will help them find their mate, they give it a go. The Bannarts are trying to take over their world and they need to find their mate in order to save them all. When the spell brings Minna to them, they are sure there prayers have been answered.

Minna is stuck in a horrible situation. The Bannarts have arrived on her planet and are raping the women, the men being slaughtered. Minna has already been violated once and she'll be damned if she'll let it happen again. Hiding from them, she needs to cast the spell to bring her mates to her. It's her only hope. Unfortunately, she's not too sure she'll be able to go through with the ceremony to bond them. The thought of them touching her terrifies her.

    SEX ME IN

On a mission to find the lost temple of the Goddess, Ana becomes stuck on the planet. Hienials are attacking the women on her planet and forcing them to bear children. Although the Bannarts are bad, the Hienials are even worse. The only choice Ana has is to use the spell book the coven sent her and try to find her mates.

Kel is the commander of his people while Wray is the alpha of his--two different men, two different planets and two different beings. When both are summoned by Ana to become her mate, warring men are caught in a love triangle such as they never expected. In order to save their worlds, they're going to have to put their differences and their hatred for one another's kind aside to make this triad work. Will their love for Ana be able to bring them all together before it's too late?

    SEX ME OUT

Kiri's innocence has been ripped away from her. Raped by the Hienial's, her best friend's little boy left orphaned, Kiri suddenly finds herself in the position of being a mother to Ryo, her life is going to take another sudden twist. Kiri soon finds herself mated to two unknown men.

Drace and Fury are Kiri's mates. Unfortunately, they know her and Ryo are both terrified of them. They have to bond in order to save their worlds, but they are just as frightened of scaring away the young lady and the child. Going slowly is their only choice. They will not be like the evil Hienial's that forced her once before. Will their beautiful moment of bonding show Kiri that love can be perfect with the right men?

    SEX ME ALL ABOUT

As Brandy watches her brother's mating ceremony with Kiri, it brings to the forefront her own yearning for love and happiness. Sad, she thinks about the two dragon men she met not too long ago and wishes they were there with her--Damir and Kaylen--the thought of them just makes Brandy want to melt. When they find each other at the party for her brother's mating ceremony, she can't believe they've sought her out. As their mate!

Kaylen and Damir haven't been able to get Brandy out of their heads. They know she's the woman destined to become their mate. They are here to offer her not only a triad, but an entire new way of life--as a dragoness. They know she's attracted to them, wants to devour them, but when fantasy becomes reality, they soon discover the real thing is definitely better!

SEX ME: THE TRIAD SERIES is out of this world orgasmic fun! An intergalactic delight, each of the stories in this series is sure to rock your world. I am so happy Bonnie Rose Leigh and Tianna Xander decided to put all of these stories into one collection. Although each story can be read as a stand alone, I strongly suggest you read them in order as there are continuing stories and events throughout. Each of the men in these stories are yummy and will melt your heart. I do have to say my favorites are definitely Kaylen and Damir. I love me some dragon men! I have to give kudos to both authors. They took a really unique approach to these stories and created an entirely new and captivating world. I'm not a fan of fantasy stories, yet they made this such an easy concept to grasp for a new reader to these genre. Each of these characters has their own dramatic story to tell that interweaves with their mates. The passion between the triads is really well written. It's not just in the story to be there. It's a necessity to save their worlds. I thought the scenes were not only captivating and titillating, but some of the most sensual I've ever read. If you're looking for a wonderful journey of life and love, SEX ME: THE TRIAD SERIES is one I'd recommend you check out. I think you'll appreciate the detail and the passion Bonnie Rose Leigh and Tianna Xander put into these stories.

  2. Dax and Rage are twin Tigerian males who are searching for their mates. They both decide they share everything else that the only way for things to work is if they form a Triad and find a strong woman who will accept them both.

Minni has escaped from the enslavement of a brutal race that has taken over her planet while their men are off fighting the galaxies bullies the Banart. The race that has enslaved them can't produce female children and therefore takes women prisoner for breeding purposes only. She is seeking a warrior mate to help her sisters in slavery. When she finds herself with Dax and Rage she is in turmoil, will she be forsaking her sisters by caring for Dax and Rage, will they be able to love someone who was enslaved, and will they help her?

Wow, I want the ability to call my own mate to me as the heroine in Sex Me All Around, what an awesome idea. As you can tell, I was very intrigued by this addition to the series. The author packs a lot of information into this fast paced story, as well as some super steamy sex scenes. Great addition to the series, and now I will have to go back and read the first two additions that I missed. Steamy spring read.

    Tanya

The next in line to call her mates, Laynee reluctantly does the spell to summon them. Within a short time, Laynee is in the presence of two powerful men. How can she overcome her fear in order to take two mates?

Fane and Sayre are both shocked to discover their mate. Although, Fane doesn't want to share, he knows he must if he ever hopes to have children. Realizing their mate is skittish, Fane and Sayre agree to work together to tame Laynee's fear. If they all expect to defeat the Banarts then this Triad must create the bond that passes on the spell for the next triad to form.

Sex Me Down is the second book in the Triad series. I found Laynee to be a good character who overcomes her fears beautifully. Both Fane and Sayre are likeable characters who really bring Sex Me Down alive. I enjoyed the plot and the characters and I am still very interested in what the author will deliver next.

Rachana, "Ana" to her friends has devoted her life to finding the Temple of the Lady Goddess. She is empathic and part of a coven, which has made her take a vow to find her mate and help save her planet. The women on her planet are being used as breeding stock for the cruel Banart Army and Hienial Slavers. Ana decides to take matters into her own hands and before she sends out the spell to attract her mates she also sends out distress signals. She casts the spell, knowing no one will hear her, let alone the two mates that her coven sisters say are `in the cards' for her.

Kel a Tigerian Warrior, and Wry a Lupin Chieften and shape shifter are suddenly on her ship. They were both responding to Ana's SOS when they are teleported aboard her ship. Both are stunned by the other and by Ana. When she tells them why they are there they seem easy to accept their fate, as women are scarce in their worlds and they are both drawn to Ana instantly. Are they all willing to become a Triad of Power and respond to the call by the Lady Goddess?

Sex Me In is the 4th installment in the Triad Series by Tianna Xander and Bonnie Rose Leigh, and a fantastic addition at that. I found Sex Me In to be sizzling hot and steamy. In addition to the hot and steamy sex there was a lot of character development and plot advancement in this installment. I can't wait for the next book, and recommend this book and the series thus far to all for an erotic adventure.

    Tanya

Kiri is concerned about the fate that Mother Goddess has in store for her. She is fiercely protective of her adopted son Ryo, and wants to make sure that he is not treated harshly due to his lineage. It isn't his fault he was born of a captive mother. She soon realizes that she is fated to have two mates and be part of another Triad. What is unknown is if Drace and Fury can come to terms with what the Mother Goddess has in store for her, and them.

Drace is a Lioni Alpha and Fury is a Beriti shifter, but both are unsure how to approach Kiri when they find out she has been a captive, and how to handle her fierce protection of Ryo. Add to that the `gift' that Kiri has and it makes for some tense moments until the men figure out what there priorities are.

Sex Me Out is the latest chapter in the Triad Series and just as hot as the first 4. This one is a bit different in that it helps to tie together a couple of different aspects of the species, and it gives you a glimpse as to where they will be going. I love that Kiri is such a strong woman, and her "gift" is fitting for not only what she has endured but the overall series. The authors also do know how to write some seriously erotic ménage scenes, along with a strong story line, that leave me looking for the next book in the series.

    Tanya

Wanting to find her mate, Jaynee casts a spell. She never really expected it to work, but as the words sprang forth one morning when she woke, Jaynee soon discovered she wasn't a mate to one man, but two.

Dane, leader of the Savari and Lucan, a Pantari spy, both find themselves removed from their location only to be in the presence of their mate. Shocked beyond all belief, Lucan and Dare realize that their lives combined with Jaynee's will bring peace to all. Their Triad is just the beginning.

Sex Me Up is a good start to what might be a great new series. I really loved the combination of the different species, but I would have liked a little more information concerning the actual threat. Jaynee, Luc, and Dare make one hot Triad, but at times I didn't feel the men really step up to their caring role. They were more focused on dominating her. Although I found myself scratching my head regarding some of the guys actions, I'm still looking forward to reading the next book in the Triad series.

  1. I'm a huge Dr. Seuss fan -- he taught me to read -- but this is, in all honesty, not one of his better books. The message is great (reading, yay!) but the delivery is weak. The artwork and the text are both a bit flat, and he seems to be straining to emulate the vibrant wackiness of his earlier work. There's nothing "wrong" with this book, but you may find yourself reading it, wondering why it just isn't as fun as it ought to be. It's okay, but there are better books out there, including a LOT of great ones he's written.

  2. The thing I like about the book is that it encourages parent/child reading and conversation, and encourages the child to use his/her imagination. "Reading with eyes shut;" my child attempted it and then began to ask a million questions: How does the Cat in the Hat read anything with his eyes shut? Why can't i see the words with my eyes shut? Can YOU read with your eyes shut?

  3. A great book for early readers, Seuss explores concepts of reading and the value of reading with the usual sillyness that is throughout his books.

  4. I am a kindergarten teacher and have several Dr. Seuss books in my collection but not this one. Our school celebrates Dr. Seuss' birthday in late Feb/early March every year, so during that time, I like to read as many Dr. Seuss books as I can, especially the ones my students may be less familiar with. My 5 and 6 year olds loved the story and recognized the Cat in the Hat immediately. They liked the character of Young Cat. The story flows easily as most Dr. Seuss books do and my students enjoy listening for rhyming words. A great addition to my Dr. Seuss collection.

  5. In this book the Cat in the Hat makes a great effort to read with his eyes shut, only to realize that it's much easier and better to read with his eyes open. And he goes on to marvel about everything that you can read about, and everything you can learn through books. It's a beautiful and inspiring introduction into the importance of reading, a Seuss-must-have!!!

  1. I've given several friends (adults) Catwings, all of whom were completely charmed by the books.

  2. Great book for any cat lover

author of "Hobo Finds A Home"

  3. The 4 volume set of Catwings is an excellent collection of books. It makes a great gift. Even if your child reads well on their own, these books are marvelous for a family "read aloud" time. If you do not have that time, shut off the TV and make the time...it is well worth it!

  4. This tender series is sure to please children of all ages, especially cat-lovers. In addition the illustrations are so sweet. It is a shame that they are not more widely read than they are. The fact that the cats have wings adds an exotic element to the stories.

  5. Not only does Le Guin's story have such an original feel, in spite of being the basic plot line of just about every stray dog story ever written, Schindler's illustrations tug at the heartstrings. The cats look just like... real cats with wings. Schindler's realistic style is what makes Catwings seem almost believable. My kids ask me repeatedly if there *could* be cats with wings somewhere that "we just don't know about yet." The dust jacket states that Schindler used the woods around his home near Philadelphia as the backdrop for his interpretation of Le Guin's story, so children of the eastern woods will recognize familiar trees and birds.

I used this as a bedtime story with the kids and one of the parts I appreciated was when the children find the kittens in the alley and squeeze then. I've always had trouble explaining to my little boy how you can't squeeze the cat because it hurts him. I think this story helped explain to my son how frightening children can be to young animals and why it is important to treat them with kindness and handle them gently.
