1. I own a Volvo Amazon by my self, and I think this book is just fantastic. Great pictures, and lots of facts. Highly recommended for everyone how owns or are going to buy a Volvo Amazon.



2. Disappointed. This book appears to be a great resource for P1800 and 122 info, but it's poorly written and poorly layed out. For example, the author will be talking about a 1968 model and the picture above the text shows a 1957 model. It's hard to locate specific info on each model year because the author will switch from discussing a 122s to a 544 model made 20 years before it in the same paragraph. The pictures aren't that good either, most are of modified cars, not stock. It's missing important information such as prices, which years & models were best, buying tips, etc. I guess this book would be an OK addition to other books on the P1800 and 120 series, but it fails miserably as a single source and that's what most people (like me) want. If you could still get the "Illustrated Volvo Buyer's Guide by John Matras" which is unfortunately out of print, nobody would bother with this one. Don't waste your money.

1. i loved this book, it was so hard to find a mechanic who could work on my car. This book was a life saver! it was direct and straight to the piont.



2. For my 1989 740GL Wagon, this manual is useless. I believe that, in general, Chilton books are useful, but this book simply covers too many models and years to have any level of detail in its instructions. Buy a different book!



3. This book was a big part of reason why my 240 DL lasted 18 years. Even though it is limited on many detailed repairs and tries to cover several models and engines, it is sufficient for the weekend mechanic that wants to save money on general maintanence. Great for water pumps, brakes, starters, injectors, tolerances, specs, and emission guidance. Should be used in tandem with the Haynes book to get a clearer understanding and second view on more serious repairs. If things get too tough, I lay the book down and take it to a mechanic. Fortunately, that is a rare event.

1. It's not a bad book, no worse than your average Haynes manual, but IT DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY INFORMATION ON THE 16v B234F motor. That's a tiny percentage of 940 owners who will be affected, but I'm one of them and I learned the hard way. It's still worth having since the information that is there is easier to find than it is in the 1990-98 Chilton's manual.

This manual is for the UK cars, but aside from some different engine options, the steering wheel pictured on the wrong side and some different terminology (bonnet, petrol, spanner, etc.) it is perfectly suited for working on a U.S. brick. It covers most systems in the car well enough for a home mechanic to tackle most jobs.

1. I bought this manual because it appears to be the only one that covers my '92 740 Turbo Wagon (short of the Volvo technical manuals). I have found it to be poorly orginaized, poorly illustrated, and poorly indexed. For example: information on the throttle body and idle adjustmemts are found in the section on Chassis Electrical and are NOT indexed at all. Key throttle linkage adjustments are in another area and will require a page by page review to find again. This information should be in the section on the fuel system. Many dozens of other examples could be cited. Haynes, a competitive publisher of automotive manuals, is missing a real opportunity here.

   A 1 star rating is given because no 0 star rating is available.




2. The manual has very litte information concering the instalation and removal of the radio.The same can be said for the installation/removal of the water pump. I found it difficulat to find the capasities for the fluids. I would not recomend buying this book for any Volvo owners.



3. Could not find a 1995 760 repair manual. Some expert say that the 1993 (i.e. available) is the same. However, some say that the 1995 version will probably out within a year. Need help in this matter.. Thanks

1. i couldn't find out what side the # 1 cylinder was on, anywhere in this book , had to use the net, some other common things are just plain missing of hard to find, try another book.....i paid 25.00 from the dealer for this book.
