- I am rather disappointed with this manual. I have a 1986 Pontiac 1000; clearly my car falls within the date range of this manual. However, it has been wrong on the few issues for which I have consulted it.
I found, after having gotten the car up and being about to change the oil, that it listed the wrong socket size needed to remove the plug from the oil reservoir.
Further, when I needed to change a tail light recently, wishing to avoid hassle, I consulted the manual. It told me to go through the trunk, removing a panel to get at the back of the light. I did so, only to discover the body of the car blocking the way. It turns out you change the taillights by removing the covers on the outside.
I have had trouble using the size of socket it recommended for removing the spark plugs, but that may be because of awkward angling.

- George also did a book in '99 titled "Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am 1969-1999 Photo History". This book is on the same premise(black and white photos) but gives you more details about the cars. Again, each year is covered and there are some great examples. This book also gives you total production numbers for these cars. I highly recommend this book. More details and great pictures. 4 stars only because of Black and White photos. Otherwise, George does another fantastic job.
- Good book, but the "Ilustrated Buyers Guide" on the cars will give you the same info and then some. Unfortunately the "illustrated Buyers Guide" only covers up to 1998 production year.

- This is a great book of numbers. Every Pontiac line included. Numbers given on all. As with other numbers books there are a few mistakes, but that can surely be overlooked when you open this up. Production numbers of each car, brief histories, etc.. This book has it all. Even if you like just one Pontiac and are enthusiastic about it I recommend it. You won't be dissapointed.
