3 comments about Original Dodge and Plymouth B-Body Muscle 1966-1970 (Original Series).
- As an owner of two 68 Plymouths I expected a bit more restoration details about the Plymouth "B" bodys. The book seems to be more aimed toward the Dodge bodied cars and did not address as muck detail as I expected. I expected more information about the mechanical and electrical detailing of the cars, which would be common between the two makes. All in all the book is "OK", but not up to what I have come to expect from the "Original" series. This is the 6th "Original" series book I have purchased covering my cars, so my review is not meant to say this book is not what it is meant to be, but compared to my other "Original" books, this one did not meet my expectations. But if you are also a Mopar fanatic it is worth adding to your library.
- This book is anything but a "restores guide" and contains very little information that cannot be obtained free via the internet.
I am in the process of restoring a 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T and wanted detailed information or at the least photos to help me with determining correct finishes and components. NOT IN THIS BOOK.
There were two pictures of my particular car and both were front quarter shots, one at a distance, and one showing the front grill.
The text reads more like an overview of the history of different B-body models that was compiled from factory ads than from a restorer's perspective. Even the production numbers were not broken down to reflect particular engine/transmission packages.
All in all I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with this book.
- What an Excellent book a must have book for any Mopar fan.

1 comments about Supercars: The Story of the Dodge Charger Daytona and Plymouth SuperBird.
- This is a "must" in a muscle car fan library, especially of those who like the Chargers. This book reviews the history: the designing process, the changes, and the final result, not to mention the technical data, lots and lots of great pics, we can also read about brilliant drivers who maaried with this car, such as the great Richard Petty. Anyway i reccomend this book to anybody who likes muscle cars.

4 comments about Chrysler: Cirrus/Stratus/Sebring/Avenger/Breeze 1995-98: Covers all U.S. and Canadian models of Chrysler Cirrus, Sebring, Dodge Avenger, Stratus and Plymouth ... (Chilton's Total Car Care Repair Manual).
- i needed to rebuild starter motor but no have information on i
- I bought the book for help in changing the serpantine and power steering belts on my Sebring JXi. The instructions were very clear and the diagrams excellent. This is one of the better Chilton's manuals
- These manuals are a "must have" for me. I've always had one for all of my cars, and they've helped me with belts, radiators, electrical diagrams, alternators, suspensions, etc. The book pays for itself by letting you do it yourself instead of paying someone else.
- I have a '98 Cirrus with 2.5 engine. I bought the manual for guidance in changing spark plugs. The removal & installation section on page 1-39 and 1-40 only addresses the front 3 plugs. It is obvious by looking at the engine that something (the intake manifold plenum) must be removed in order to get to the back 3 plugs. By going to pages 3-23 & 3-24, the engine repair section, removal of the plenum is discribed. Is all of this necessary if the ultimate goal is just changing the plugs? Can the fuel line and the throttle body stay connected while the plenum is moved to one side? Maybe trial and error with provide the answer.

1 comments about How to Build Dodge/Plymouth Performance for 273, 318, 340, 360 "A" Engines and 383, 400, 413, 426, 440 "B" Engines.
- Book is always recommending mopar performance parts which are excellent parts but very expensive. Would be nice if book listed OEM specs for cams, manifolds, cranks, blocks, etc. so a budget engine builder could pick out used parts or compare new parts to specs of original parts if desired. For example book recommends LD-340 aluminum intake made by Edelbrock as 'the intake to have'for a 340, but does not mention that the OEM cast iron intake was designed by Edel and has same performance with some extra weight. Book says quench type heads cause detonation which is completely wrong. READ
Smokey Yunick 'Power Secrets' and David Vizard 'How to build horsepower' for correct use of quench.

1 comments about Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon, 1978-1990 (Haynes Manuals).
- I've never had a lot of luck when buying used vechiles. So when I decided to purchace a nineteen eighty-eight Dodge Omni for a reasonable 250$,I figured I mind as well buy the Haynes Repair Manual because I knew I was going to need it.
Within two weeks of ripping around in this piece of garbage the brake pads were shot, the driver side door handle broke off, and for some reason it red lined every time it was idling. I had to ride around in the middle of July with the heat on full blast just so it wouldn't overheat.
The Haynes Manual became my Bible even through most of the time I found myself cursing at it and or throwing it arcoss the room.
It offers step-by-step instructions that are reinforced with black and white photos showing the processes of whatever it is you are working on. The Manual is also extremely durable as tested by this infuriated Omni owner.
I would never advocate the purchace of an Omni to anyone, God I wouldn't even recommend riding in one unless it was completly neccesary, however in the unfortunate event that you find yourself in one of these terrible things it is crucial that a Haynes manual be near by.

3 comments about Haynes Dodge Daytona and Chrysler Laser, 1984-1989 (Haynes Manuals).
- The repair manual, Dodge Daytona and Chrysler Laser : 1984 Thru 1989 All Models Automotive Repair Manual (1140), is good for if you are doing most repairs. For someone who is interested in doing something that should be done by the dealership or professional it does not give exact descriptions. I found that with doing repairs that you would do at home it is the perfect thing.
- This book has lots of great info.
- I bought this book because my '89 Daytona 2.5L N/A TBI was being a bit tempermental, and because I figured now was a good time in my life to start handling my own car repairs, within reason. While this book does do a pretty good job going over basic systems, troubleshooting tips, and so forth, the information regarding the 1989 models ('87 and '88 too I assume) is lacking. There is almost no diagram in the book that matches what can be seen under my hood, and that's a little troubling when you don't know where everything is by sight yet, or what the names of everything are. However, once I became more familiar with my own car, I could more readily translate the information specific to the '85/'86 models (which appears to be the concentration in this book).
Buy this book if you do any repairs on your own, for the simple reason that, even though it leaves a little to be desired for the late '80s models, it's the only good book out there.
