1. This is an essential guide for anyone who relies on one of these cars to "get there" and who doesn't have the trunk stuffed full of money to afford professional mechanics. The manual has an abundance of great step-by-step photos that enable you to get all the pieces back in the car in the order they came out! I have successfully used the book as a guide to change the brake shoes and pads, rebuild the cooling system, remove/replace the alternator, adjust the carburetor and much more. And all without so much as a highschool shop background. I conservatively estimate the book has saved me several hundred dollars that would have otherwise gone to the local mechanic. Even if you don't do the wrench turning yourself this manual will give you a good idea of what may be wrong with the car before you take it in.

1. Not quite as good as a Chrysler Shop manual. But does the job well..



2. I found this book good, up to a point. I suppose the limitations are by design. There are more complete manuals available, but they are much thicker and much more expensive. The best way I can illustrate the book's limits is with an example. I wanted to investigate a broken outer door handle. The book gave me all the detail I needed to remove panels, links, etc. in the right order to get to the handle. But it did not have any information on how a properly working handle's connections should look nor what could be fixed vs. replaced. Also, it would be very simple to add information about bolt sizes to the text. It would be nice to know in advance, before tearing into a car, whether you have the right size tools for the job. Still, the illustrations are pretty good and the general flow of how to perform tasks is accurate and complete, as far as it goes.

1. I bought the manual to perform a few simple tasks. I had to change the AIR FILTER and the directions instructed me to remove the 2 bolts from the housing and then remove the air filter. What I actually had to do is remove the 2 bolts, remove the 2 air hoses from the engine and the hose from the bottom of the housing. I then had to remove the housing to find the cover where the filter was located. I then had to undo the 2 brackets and then was able to remove the air filter. The book did not explain anything past the 2 bolts...



2. I received this manual last week. It has been very helpful to me from adjusting the head lights, changing radiator fluid and replacing the PCV valve. I am sure that this book will be a good reference for me to do future maintenance work on my Chrysler Town & Country.



3. This book is very informative, it had valuable information of electrical panel locations and how to open up certain parts of the dash board. Could not have done this with out it.



4. i was looking in the manual for directions about how to change belts on my a/c,water pump, etc, and it doesn't say anything about something so simple like that..

1. This book was dismal. The information provided is frequently lacking in key points (ie: (paraphrase)"The eight cylinder engine is like the six cylinder engine, so just extrapolate". Furthermore, upon receipt of the Haynes manual covering the same vehicles, it became immediately apparent that the Chiltons manual had left out critical information. The wiring maps are incorrect, and/or missing details - not to mention other issues. A potential buyer would do better to track down the Haynes Dodge & Plymoth Vans manual - or the shop manuals.



2. With every vehicle I have owned, I have always purchased a manual for repair. What I have found out is that you need both the chilton and the haynes manuals. Between the two you will get most of the info you need. The most comprehensive is the factory manual if you want to spend a lot of money. I can get most of what I need to do to repair my vehicles if I have both manuals.

1. If you own, or want to own, a Dodge truck built between 1948 and 1953, you will not find a more valuable information resource than this book. As with all of Mr. Bunn's Dodge books, this one is packed with well-researched facts, outstanding photos and fascinating truck history. For those of us who were not around when these trucks were new, it's the next best thing to a time machine. For those who were around, it will bring back memories of a time when trucks were built to work!
