1. This book contains so much info its unbelievable. Everything is step-by-step and so detailed. This book is a must have!



2. I have read several books on engines and this one is by far one of my treasured favorites. It is very detailed and has loads of information. I personally run one of the largest national remanufactured and used engine companies [...] selling thousands of engines each year.
   
   It is important as a leader in the industry to stay polished on my knowledge of engines, and this book has helped in so many ways. This book would be helpful for car buffs who tool around on the weekends and powerful enough for the nations best mechanics. Well worth the price!!!!

1. i bought this book to learn the basics of the windsor engines and it has a lot of information....now i am ready for more and it is time to move on to more specifics...i do recommend this book highly if you are going to build a windsor and want some basic info on what the different components are.

2. I've purchased almost all Ford SB Windsor literature.. this particular book is absolutely the Best I got. I'm not saying it's perfect, but still is unique in a way that it illustrates how to carry out performance assemblies step by step.. such as building a 347 cid stroker, porting a head, installing force induction stuff, timing a cam or tuning a carb (I use EFI but it's good to know how). This book is not another performance parts catalog in the shape of a "book"! This one is very similar to what you can find on the tech pages of websites such as FordMuscle.com, CarCraft.com, MustangandFords.com



3. I am a fan of fords and this is a very helpfull book. Explains alot of things that other books do not.



4. Before you read up further,this book doesnt cover the 351 Cleveland engine.
   
   If you are about to rebuild and add performance to your small block Ford engine this book is ideal.Takes you through a history of fords small block V8's: 302/5.0L,351W/5.8L and EFI manifolds and performance upgrades.Note:It doesnt cover the 351C.This book is divided into sections with plenty of information and photos throughout.Even tells you about EFI engines and fitting into earlier model Fords.Also includes performance build ups and superchargers,turbocharging and nitrous.Definitely a comprehensive book thats easy to understand and good value too.
   
   I give this book 4 stars as they are ALMOST as good as the "Cartech/S-A Design-workbench" books.



5. Overall good description as well as technique of how to tune a sb engine, but i think the pictures could be a lot better, instead of of black and white, use color and clearer pictures to illustrate a particular topic.

1. This is one of the best service manuals in my auto repair library, great text and lots of illustrations make this manual easy to use, even for the mechanically challenged. If you want to service and repair your Z3, this is the one to buy.

3. I purchased my Z3 used. It had no handbook. This volume has the answers to some of the secrets of the BMW Z3. Worth the investment.



4. A must for any car enthusiast that wants to learn mechanics and be better informed. You can either try to make repairs on your car on your own or you can check it to see if the labor they recommend on your car matches what is in the book or if the mechanic/dealer's trying to rip you off.



5. When I needed to replace the brakes on my 2001 BMW Z3 I was distressed to find that the only manual available for the 2001 BMW Z3 was a $75.00+ Bentley Shop Manual. I ordered the manual [[ASIN:B000AP64PK BMW Z3 Service Manual: 1996-2002] and went it arrived I turned to the section on brakes. The pictures were great but the descriptions left more than a little to be desired. While you could see a picture of it, the manual did not tell you you needed a 7mm allen wrench to remove the brake calipers. To add insult to injury when I laid the book flat, the binding was so cheap that the page that I was looking at just came loose! Not the sort of quality you might wish for in a $75.00 book!

1. This manual is great. Very simple to understand "how to" fix your Saturn.
   Very pleased.



2. Like most manuals, this one covers several years and models and tries to hit all the bases. Most of the information is accurate and helpful for doing general repair work, but sometimes they will show pictures that don't match your model. As examples, the instructions for brake repair were excellent, but the diagrams & photos for the EGR valve looked nothing like the one on my '96 SL1. Apparently, the design was changed since '91, but it didn't make it to the book.

4 comments about Mazda MX-5 Miata 1.8: Enthuasiast Workshop Manual.

1. I do a lot of DIY maintenance and repairs. I recently purchased a 2000 Mazda Miata along with the model-specific Factory Workshop Manual. While Grainger's ...1.8: Enthusiasts Workshop Manual is intended for the earlier model, pre-1999, most of the guidance can be applied to the 1999-2000 with patience and ingenuity. I found that this manual, when combined with the Mazda Factory Workshop Manual and online resources, provide complete guidance for most tasks including major service. I particularly liked that Grainger included personal insight and tips & tricks that are helpful to a non-professional mechanic. The only issues I have with the Manual's presentation is that the small text is hard to read and the photos are small and some lack clarity. The last issue, which is not totally objectionable, is that the Manual is written with the "right and left" references from the perspective of someone standing behind the car looking forward (this takes some getting used to) - I took a red marker and wrote "left & right" to clarify these references. I would recommend this manual to any Miata owner that does his/her own work.

3. If you have a Mazda Miata with a 1.8L motor and you plan to work on the car yourself this book is a must have and priceless. Let me tell you how this book helped me. I'm a 51-year-old parts changer. I do the basics Brakes, Exhaust, Tune Ups, Water Pumps. I needed to change the water pump in the Miata. Lucky for me I had this book. Changing the water pump involved removing the timing belt and pulleys, which I've never done before. When I got to the point where I realized that this is not a basic water pump job I took out the book. The book walked me through the job with informative step-by-step text and photos. I'm happy to say the car started right up and is running better than ever. I'm now so confident with the technical support I receive from this book that I would not hesitate to tackle any job on this car. This book covers it all.



4. A well written book, BUT, many of the halftone pictures (photographs) too small,light, or busy to be useful. The author could probably delete the engine and transmission overhaul information as I doubt that many home repair mechanics will attempt these procedures. It does give enough information to identify those jobs best given to a specialty shop or dealer. Worth the $30 cost but not much more.

1. This is a good overview book but because it covers all years of Corvette production there isn't enough room for more detail that is necessary. On the other hand it does give a prospective purchaser a place to start.



2. I was pleased with the product. It was given as a gift and was a hit with the corvette enthusiast! The product arrived in excellent condition.



3. This book was just as advertised; very informative. This will be a great aid in my search for a Corvette.



4. Mike Yagers charts are pretty predictab;le and therefore more or less useless. While the photos are nice, someone should have proof read the text (repetions, inaccuracies, etc)



5. Mike Yager's "The Corvette Bible" is an excellent reference for those interested in the history and evolution of the Corvette. The photography is top-notch and there's plenty of good information as well, though there are numerous typographical errors in the book. The information given is not always as thorough or complete as some might wish for, but it is an excellent work for those who are just getting into the world of Corvettes and want a basic reference work about this legendary car.

5 comments about Jeep Cj Rebuilder's Manual, 1946-1971: Mechanical Restoration Unite Repair and Overhaul Performance Upgrades for Jep CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B, CJ-5 and CJ-6 and MB, M38, and M38A1.

1. This book is a must have for the "Early" Jeep enthusiast! From total rebuild to just wrenching, this book covers it.



2. This is a very helpful guide that I used in restoring a 46 willys.I thought it worth the purches and would recamend it to others who are knew to jeep resto.



3. This book covers modified vehicles. There is little info on stock CJs. Although it covers a V6 model, it is NOT a factory V6, which was a big disappointment for me. There is much info on how to modify and update old CJs, which isn't a bad thing. Just make sure you know exactly what you want before buying this book, and your old CJ for that matter!



4. I fine book and is highly recommended reading for ol jeepers. Sure helped me understand more on my 53 CJ-3B and really helped get up to speed on the 225 v6. I think the author should do more books on other jeeps as well. I have enjoyed his 2 cj books on his personal storys of his cj's but I would enjoy seeing other titles on other car rebuilding. His authorship on rebuilding helping me rebuild and restore my stock 53 CJ-3B, a current back yard find for $100 bucks, a 75 CJ-5 with a 66 v6, t98/od, and build a personal 83 CJ-7 Chevy powered jeep from parts. It think he should buy a SJ(wagoneer)and cover that subject as well. I have a 89 version of a Grand Wagoneer I would like to keep on the highway as well.



5. This book shows a total restoration. It may provide on a small amount of help for the shadetree mechanic.

1. this book is full of information for the chevy lover it has alot of info. It helped me find out what my 3 chevy small blocks were.



2. Very good book, a lot of very valuable information on SB and BB chevy motors. Saves you time and money running to the parts store to run the casting numbers. If your a chevy lover or in to building SB and BB Chevy motors I definately recommend this book.



3. Lots of info and casting #'s with dates.
   Nice to have 85% of info all in 1 easy to find book.



4. One of the best reference books you'll ever use either sitting at the computer or wandering a swap meet. No more guessing about a part that a vender tells you "Yes, this part is the one for you" only to get it home and find it's wrong. Easy to read and quick to find a number. You'll end up needing another one as I did from over use.

1. This book has helped me save some serious time, as I am not an automotive guru. It has also cut down on the amount of trips to the parts store. It could have been organized better, and it should have gone into more detail.
