5 comments about Beckett Racing Collectibles Price Guide 2008 (Beckett Racing Collectibles and Die-Cast Price Guide).
- First of all, I HATE the BIG UGLY picture of American Car Racer...do not know his name, on the cover of the book. Second, I hate NASCAR and Cheap political HOT WHEEL junk I do not even care for looking at. The book should focus on HIGH QUALITY COLLECTIBLE BRANDS ONLY. What a waste of paper~!!!
- Very pleased with purchase. Arrived in a timely fashion and in excellent condition. Just what we were looking for.
- Received the issue with only Dale Jr. on the cover in his new team's colors. Pleased with it, very detailed and inclusive. H ave only found one piece I have not listed. Easy to follow. Invest in a magnifying glass if you are older than 21. Diecast listing by driver in the last section is very helpful. Who needs monthly updates in this hobby. Very much worth the price, but I really wanted the one with Dale Earnhardt on the cover.
- Great information! Should split cards from die-casts and make 2 books. Print is extremely small. Too much info for 1 book.
- First of all, I was expecting the one with both Dale Sr. and Dale Jr. on the cover, not just Jr. Big disappointment. And second, I don't recall racing collectibles just being limited to die cast and cards. It was very misleading because the title states "Beckett Racing Collectibles Price Guide 2008 (Beckett Racing Collectibles and Die-Cast Price Guide)", not just Beckett Card and Car Book.

3 comments about Monster Garage: How to Custom Paint Damn Near Anything.
- This book covers all the steps you need to know but the thing i didnt liked is that it have a few chapters from other books. So if you have "cheap tricks & special F/X of craig Fraiser" you will not be happy to see a part of this book (37 pages). and from onother book i have - one about pinstripping (also Craig Fraiser's) (33 pages). So if you dont have these books i will recommend to add this one to your collection.
- Found this book to be helpful in the way it gave a brief but easy-to-read outline of the processes involved in all the main areas of custom painting. Being a flame enthusiast myself, I found it benificial as it showed the main skills required to carry out the job and the tools and equipment needed.
- Don't get me wrong, there is useful information in this book, just not a whole lot of it. And the over-emphasis on flame painting - what's that all about? Perhaps the book should have been titled "How to Custom Flame Damn Near Anything". As a practical guide to custom painting it falls short of the many superior other references out there. As a fan book for the Monster Garage series, forget it, as the show only gets a passing mention.

1 comments about Nissan Frontier & Xterra, '05-'08 (Automotive Repair Manual).
- I'm a fan of the Haynes Repair Manuals and have one for every machine.
For a 2007 Nissan Frontier this one is a bit lite on content.
However the book is still worth the $17.00 for it's wiring diagrams alone.
They do tear apart the 2.5L & 4L engines .... and have pictures as proof.
Any retard that can read & has access to a screw driver could do the basic maintance repairs.

5 comments about The Cruising Life: A Commonsense Guide for the Would-Be Voyager.
- This is a book written for Americans by an American. As a non-American some advice was irrelevant to me. Apart from this, I found it very useful; valuable insights as to what to expect from a cruising lifestyle, motivation to take the plunge and above all a humorous writing style. I found it compelling. Definitely a good book to read before you buy your yacht, and reread many times before you leave.
- Ok if you need som basic advice about making a decision to live aboard. Mostly it is posturing by the author and not much by way of real information, or thought provoking stories.
- This book was about how to become a "minimilist". (In other words, get rid of all your material stuff, your ideas of "status", start to live simply, start exercising, and start saving, saving, saving!!) By building your "kitty", you're able to buy your boat with cash. It, too, was about practical stuff and a much simpler life! The only regret I had was that it didn't have any pictures! Other than no pictures-I loved it!
- Can't say enough about this book. Stright talk about cruising life, not just another euipment & tech guide. To top it off he mixes in enough humor to keep a smile on your face. My wife and I fight ove who gets to read it.
Thanks for giving us a truley great book Jim!
- Over all I thought there were a lot of good tips and insight in this book. I do agree with a previous review that the author does tend to glorify wooden boats a bit. It was a good purchase, I'd buy it again.

5 comments about 10-Minute Tech, The Book: More than 600 Practical and Money-Saving Ideas from Fellow RVers.
- An awesome book Tells you all you need to know about quick repairs YOU can do. This book will save you thousands of dollars over the "long haul" ( pun intended) Tells ya' how to keep that RV running.
- This book had lots of helpful hints although some people definitely have much too much time on their hands to think this stuff up.
- To rephrase Ratty's famous comment to Mole in "The Wind in the Willows": There is nothing- absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in an RV.
By even the most charitable of definitions, I am not what anyone would call "handy" when it comes to fixing things about our sticks-and-bricks house. I am not good at it and I hate taking the time for even the most basic of repairs.
Having said that, I also note that I love puttering around our 5th wheel and could happily spend hours at a time on RV related projects! I guess that's why I think the 10 Minute Tech books are so terrific. More than 600 practical and money-saving ideas in each of the three volumes . . . clever, practical solutions to both everyday challenges and to obscure situations the average RVer will never come across. Each idea presents a practical, real-life solution. Each has been developed by an RVer. The projects are presented in language which is brief, understandable and to the point . . . and the illustrations do a great job of clearing up any questions left unanswered by the text.
The books are conveniently divided into sections on Livability, Safety, Appliances, Maintenance, Automotive, In Camp, Systems, Storage, Towing, Accessories, Sanitation, Doors-Hatches-Handles, Cleaning-Protecting, and Tools. Only a brief perusal is needed to start the creative juices flowing - to send the reader, tool box in hand, off on another project. A fun read when you are nowhere near an RV. An indispensable reference when you are on the road.
- Well written ideas and short cuts, and creative ways to solve some problems. Highly recommend for the serious RV'er.
- The 10-Minute Tech series books are great. You will find a lot of good ideas and spin off some of your own too after reading same. Ideas for all types of RV's, tow vehicles, etc. Good for anyone with an RV.

1 comments about Scenic Driving New Mexico, 2nd (Scenic Driving Series).
- Laurence Parent is a well-known photographer - his photos illustrating this book are superb (wish there were more) and his descriptions of these drives in New Mexico are great...the maps are crude but serviceable. They are better than the very rough ones in his Hiking New Mexico, though...I've driven almost all the routes described and got my money's worth many times over - the book is well-used and always with me on my New Mexico trips.

2 comments about Corvette C3 1968-1982 Buyer's Guide.
- If you want to buy a Corvette of this era then this book is for you. There is so much information that will help you decide which model to buy. Each chapter covers each year model in great detail. This book is your guide to buying the Corvette model that suits you.The colour photographs do this book justice and represent each model.
I also recommend the following books:
1)"Corvette 1968-1982"(Sports car color history series)
2)"How to restore & modify your Corvette 1968-1982".
- I am finding this book very informative on the 3rd generation Corvette. It has excellent detailed information on what to be aware of when considering the purchase of a 1968-1982 Corvette or just to enhance your knowledge of the C3.

3 comments about Rebuilding the Famous Ford Flathead (Insights).
- Written a few years before the rebirth of the flathead in street rodding, this book has lots of good basic info to help you rebuild your flathead, or just have an idea of what will happen when you send it out. Not a lot of info on modifying the flathead, better to look for another book for that. Good info, and complete.
- This is a very, very useful reference book about the Ford Flathead. You do know is an older book, still in print and the pictures are good, but not todays standard. I find reviewing some of the old books, I find items offten overlooked by the newer kids on the block(punt) so a well rounded set of books is aways worth having..
- THIS BOOK IS GOOD FOR TOILET READING, BUT NOT REBUILDING ENGINES. WORTHLESS BOOK FOR ANYONE WHO HAS EVERY BLUEPRINTED OR REBUILT AN ENGINE. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

5 comments about Advanced Custom Painting Techniques.
- This is a great book for people who want to learn about show car custom painting. I like the fact how much the book talks about spray booth setup and safety issue. Personally, I would like to see more about the spray gun technology section as well. I need a little more depth about different guns features and capabilities. Jon did mention a few of the guns but not detail enough, as least for me. I also like how the book take you through the entire painting process step by step from body work to lay down the final coat. It's amazing how much is involve. One more section I was hoping to see is how to paint the under carriage for normal day to day driving cars. It would be nice to see how to prep and paint rust proof coating. I guess that might be out of the scoop for the subject of this book. All in all, I do like this book very much.
- this was a very helpful and useful book that helped advance me to a higher level of painting !
Thankyou !
- This book is really detailed out to everything from the setup of your equipment to spraying kandies!!
good knowledge for starting out on a project.
- Very very good manual, will be purchasing more books by John,
Thank you

- I am an ASE CERTIFIED TRUCK TECHNICIAN AND FOUND THIS TITLE TO BE REALLY HELPFUL IN MY REVIEWS FOR THE TES
- We used this book in our diesel technician class. The book gives you an excellent introduction to every aspect of a heavy-duty truck. I usually shy away from books written by more than one author because of lack of continuity or overcoverage in certain areas. In the case of this book, the authors have done a fantasic job of explaining the topics without any assumptions. The book does a good job in covering cluthes, standard transmission, torque converters, drive shafts, axles, and automatic transmissions. On the subject of brakes, I recommend Delmar's "Today's Technician: Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Brakes." If your thinking of buying a book on this subject matter, you can't go wrong with this selection. Be aware that a third edition has been released.
- this the 1st time me using this site so i don't have much to say, but i like what i need.i think its nice book for who just start how to work in shop or people who like to work with truck
