1. Used this manual several times since purchase, some for fairly intense repairs including replacing EGR valve and replacing wheel bearings with good results. I have also used it for smaller jobs like sparkplugs (you realize you have to take the intake manifold off to change them?!?). The step by step directions are mostly clear and the photos help too but could be of better quality. One thing missing is that this book is short on diagnostics. The manual seems to cover all systems and has an appropriate level of detail and I would recommend it for the medium to hard core DIYer.



2. Because my car is so unique and one of the newer models finding a repair manual was almost impossible unless done by going on the website and that was expensive. I was very happy to find a manual on Amazon that was at 1/2 the cost of that on website. I got it quickly (within 3 days from ordering) and in great shape.

1. Nowhere on the product details here on Amazon does it say "does not include information specific to XRS models". However, turn either the Chilton or Haynes manual over to the back and in small print at the bottom it reads "Does not include information specific to XRS models".
   
   If you haven't guessed, I purchased the manual because I have the XRS model. I am extremely disappointed that such a small but important detail could not have simply been placed in the product detail section here on Amazon. I have now purchased two manuals that are useless to me because of this mistake. The differences between the XRS and the CE/LE/S are too great to make these manuals of any use.
   
   I will most likely return them. Please change the item description in case other people who own the XRS wish to buy the manual thinking it has information on the XRS model.



2. This book is actual old with new pictures and few edited text. Instruction mostly not comply with mfg manual come with the car. The instructions for basic care & maintenance are same as for other vehicles that was old models from last century. Car owner (not mechanic) needs to know the "new technology" of the car is designed in order to maintain properly, such as how to use Floor Jack to the UniBody to lift car to rotate tire & etc..., where is drain & fill plug for manual transmission oil, type of motor oil and "what if" during the travel incident then what is the temporary alternative, what is torque & preparation such as for wheel lug nuts, technology restriction do & don't, and many more need to know for the new car of the 21 century. Some of the instruction are instructed with no dimensions such as head light alignment. This book is seem like "thumb rule" through experience with not much of engineering fact translation so we can do the work properly. Sumarize of the book: Just a blah blah blah mostly thumb rule book, waste of money.



3. This manual is informative and usefull. It is perfect for us do it your selfer's. While not meant to take the place of a good mechanic, this guide does offer good basic maintenece and repair tips. Excellent step by step instructions make it simple to understand.



4. Hey, let's not kid anyone, having a Chilton's manual is a very good reference for taking care of one's car. I do my own oil changes, PVC valve, air filter, spark plugs, and many other repair and maintenance procedures. This book is a good reference for everything I do. Yes, there could be a few more pictures of some things. But, in order to keep the book at 3/4 of an inch thick they must limit some things. They cover the oxygen sensors, brakes and transmission aspects okay. It isn't like the book I had when I worked at a service station for 7 years (1973-1980), but I like it. It helped me align my headlights also. A great book to have for each vehicle you own if you handle some of the maintenance or repairs.

1. There are so many instant books about Florida churned out by writers who have merely zipped through the state en route to their next publication date that it is a pleasure to read one by someone actually familiar with the area. Jan Godown is a veteran Tallahassee journalist who has traveled these roads many times, and the reader--whether Floridian or tourist--is the beneficiary. She knows the charms, the history, and the things that threaten these places--not just how many miles they are from the plastic worlds of Central Florida. This book is a keeper on my library shelf--when it's not traveling in the front seat of my car!



2. This book offers all that you need to have a memorable vacation in Florida. There is no chance of getting lost and losing precious time as you drive through the Sunshine State. When I get my drivers license back, I will be able to use this book to the fullest

1. This book covers 3 different models (Frontier, Xterra, Pathfinder) with 3 different engines (2.4L, 3.3L, 3.5L) with manual and automatic transmissions and 2 and 4 wheel drive. Probably 1/3 or more of the material is the general information on engine rebuilding, cooling systems, body repair, etc. that is included in every Chilton book ever printed.

   If you own a 2.4L 4x2 Frontier ('98-'00 is best, '01+ is still ok) then you'll get the most information. The vehicle they "tear down" appears to be a 1998 2.4L 4x2 with auto. The procedures are ok and the pics are mediocre to poor. The wiring diagrams along with the locations of various components are probably the most useful information.

   The 3.3L Xterra and 4x4 Frontier have some material, but not as much as 2.4L Frontier. The Pathfinder has the least amount of dedicated material and is probably not worth the price of this book.

1. As always, Anthony Young has done an excellent job in bring all the necessary data, facts and figures about his chosen subject. Nothing new that has not been done before by various other authors like Holder & Kunz, RM Clarke and most of the pictures have been seen before.

   However, a worthwhile addition to any collection as it brings the best of all three manufacturers together unto one book and blends Mr Youngs particular style of writing which is clear and informative.

   Only lacking in comparison reports and multicar tests..




2. This book has it all, great photos, informative writing, and a wealth of information. Covers the development of Mopar Muscle from the early sixties all the way up to the Dodge Viper of the nineties. A great source for Mopar fans.



3. Great information for my auto library. Great photos and the era covered
   what I expected.

1. Interesting book, nicely done, showing the evolution of the GT40 into the new Ford GT. Great pictures. A must for every Ford enthusiasts.

2. Mr. Streather provides an exciting and accurate history of the Ford GT, past and present. While many articles and books have been published on this subject, most repeat the generally known facts of cars. In contrast, Mr. Streather provides details and photographs which only an ardent detective and researcher, committed to the subject, will discover. As an owner of a "new" GT, and having lived during the competition days of the originals, I am continually impressed with the depth of the writer's work. An excellent book that every owner of a GT, past and present, should own.
