3 comments about Honda Accord 1998 thru 2002: All Models (Haynes Repair Manual).
- I wish the book cover 2003 Honda Accord. Otherwise the book is good.
- Very good manual which explains honda accord repair from all sides
- Nothing fun or exciting, just a service manual for my kid's car. It is just what it is. I've also gotten factory manuals and Bentley manuals for various cars over the years. They all seem to serve their intended purposes equally well. A good book at a great Amazon price.

5 comments about Porsche 911 Red Book 1965-2005 (Red Book).
- This book is very helpful for checking vin numbers and engine numbers to find out what it should/could be.
- The Red Book is logically organized by model year series, and within each series Paternie highlights the changes year-over-year. VIN numbers can be easily bracketed into the various production runs, and engine/drivetrain specs, suspension, wheel, and braking setups, interior trim/color combinations, and various special edition anomalies are all well presented. My own 911 search is currently ongoing, but the Red Book has helped me very quickly narrow down my choice range and verify new offerings as I encounter them.
- Also provides a nice summary for each type of the 911 family. Unfortunately, the black and white pictures don't do the Porsches enough justice, so don't buy this book as a photo album.
- No colored pictures, just b&w, but good technical data that is easy to follow for those of us in the market for a used 911.
- This book is a must have for 911 buyers. Fits in your pocket, to the point concise information very useful for determining the originiality of a car quickly. Never leave home without it!

5 comments about Auto Math Handbook HP.
- This book is not for experts. It lack in-depth attitude. Rather, this book turned to be novice oriented. Formulas are basic and there are no graphs. I liked detailed conversion table to metric units.
- If your looking for something beyond gradeschool math (read:algebra/geometry)then I wouldn't recommend this book. The formulas would be usefull in modifying from an already set or measured value (tire size, mph, mpg) but would not be usefull when trying to design, analyze or mathmaticaly model anything. Use of English units nice for laymen.
I was dissapointed at the lack of truely usefull equations, most seem to be shuffling of equations.
Conversion tables are nice however.
- While this book does appear to have a good coverage of topics, there is little to be found here that wouldn't be considered trivial by anyone who has completed a math course at the junior high level.
- Been around a long time, this book is a quality reference for the mechanic or junkie who wants a little more from his experience around engines and cars, or, who wants to expand their ability and knowledge. Clear and easy to find what you're looking for.
- many thanks.it's an excellent book with a lot of mathematical equations inside and short and clear base explanations, based on the physics.
It's not real engineering book, but very close to the university mimeographed.
I'm really satisfy with it and would recommend it to purchase.

2 comments about Inside IMSA's Legendary GTP Race Cars: The Prototype Experience.
- A great reference for fans of mid-80's IMSA prototype racers. The most informative book I've ever seen on these cars. Great pictures and reference for model builders.
- After all these years, somebody has written an extensive history of the IMSA GTP car. Highly readable and very informative. Even for those who don't understand the technology or the engineering involved, it's still a good read; the illustrations help at least somewhat.
My only complaint is that there is no history of the cars in competition, no won-loss record, no roster of teams and drivers who campaigned each car.
Other than that it's great value for the money

5 comments about How to Master Airbrush Painting Techniques (Motorbooks Workshop).
- I'll start off by saying I keep picking up this book over and over. The Troubleshooting chapter is so detailed. It covers nearly every problem I have ever had with an airbrush. I have other airbrush books and none of them have this much "fix it" info. That one chapter has saved me so much time and stress.
The rest of the book is great also. One of the learning chapters has a really fun exercise that was so easy but gave me really cool results.
The book is very easy to follow and the examples in the book can be applied to almost any airbrush project. She uses a common sense approach that takes away the complications that come up when I'm trying to learn a new technique.
And unlike my other airbrush books, it has lots of photos. The example chapters have many photos that cover each little step.
It also tells how to get great ideas to airbrush.
And I really appricated the way she also tells how to deal with how to not get discouraged when things go wrong. How to deal with the stress that comes from trying to be be artistic.
I have another of JoAnn's books and while I enjoyed that one, I like this one better.
It is also a large book with nearly 200 pages. I feel this book was a great buy.
- Very comprehensive. I felt the author was having a personal casual discussion with me about what I wanted to learn instead of just documenting technical information and techniques. Teaching painting techniques in writing must be a tough task, but I think the author did a good job.
- This would have to be the best book I've read about custom painting and airbrushing on cars/bikes. The book is great for the beginner (like me) who wants to know about airbrushes, suitable paints, and the techniques to start creating a custom paint job.
- just got my wife a used air brush. she thinks this book will help her get started on several projects she has planned. she is used to oil painting, and says this looks like fun.
thanks!
- I've been looking for an informative, complete and properly illustrated book that doesn't make the attempt to go over the heads of any novice, like me, and yet, covers all the neat little tricks that a good teacher of any skill and art combined, can put into a comprehensive book. I never lost interest at all. My attention span is a good way of telling me when a book that I'm reading is worth it's mud at all! I like this author,Ms. JoAnn Bortles puts it all out there in a way that makes it easy to apply to my own techniques as I go through each lesson. I like this book. I think it's the Bomb!! And I would recommend it as a fine gift for a friend or a personal purchase any time.

5 comments about How to Set up Your Motorcycle Workshop (Tech Series).
- This book looked great on the cover in full color and a modern shop. You get inside for the little bit of pictures they do have are all old and black and white. This is one for the yard sale.
- This book contains good, detailed information from an expert mechanic on setting up your bike shop. It's not an "overview," it's a detailed guide. I know because I recently set up a commercial shop using this book.
The sections on lighting and shop layout gave me a much better sense of how much space I needed. Turns out I needed less than I thought, so that saved me considerable $$$.
Rating this book one star because you didn't get color pictures of screwdrivers and shop layouts is ridiculous. If you want color pictures, buy Life magazine. If you want to learn how to set up a motorcycle shop the right way, buy this book.
- Like D. Conyer, I don't understand the point of the review based on color vs b&w photographs. This book delivers exactly what the title promises, and includes advice for all levels of bike mechanics and all sizes of available work space. As someone who is limited to "his half of the garage", I appreciate this approach. Highly recommended!
- This book shows, not only how to set up a small hobby shop (my goal), but also a medium to large shop for the professional. The need for maximum utilization of space as well as work flow are covered in depth. Anyone wanting an efficient and enjoyable shop will want this book.
- Although I have been around motorcycles for almost 40 years, I never really had an organized place to work in. Having recently aquired a small garage, How to Set Up Your Motorcycle Workshop had some great ideas about organization, logical placement of tools, workbench, etc, to save time and energy. I also liked the chapter devoted to lighting, something definitely lacking in a lot of shops I have been in. All in all it will get you off to a good start, the rest is up to you!

5 comments about Four-Stroke Performance Tuning 3rd ed: A practical guide.
- It has tons of info. THe Writer obviously has a very large experience as he writes serious stuff. Its for the advanced racer (its a more difficult read than Maximum boost by corky bell)
I don't like the fact that it writes too much about carburation(75 pages out of 310)
I like that it has real dyno figures and he has hard evidence of what he is telling.
Tons of schematics and pictures.
Very good !
- Prior reading the book for the first time, you won't even imagine the treasure hiding inside it. The author is undoubtedly a very experienced engine builder and after reading the book you could assume that he is a very successful one. But the most wonderful thing is that the author has tried to contain all of his experience into this book. While you read the book you will realize that you are actually in a situation of accumulating some experience. This is a bit exaggerated, as it is well known that hands-on experience cannot compare to any book, but you will feel that the author is providing you with some invaluable tips and facts.
The author is sticking to the facts as derived from his own experience. Facts that might be a bit out of the common sense and common knowledge which sometimes states that "BIGGER IS BETTER".
I am not giving the 5-star rating just because the carburetor chapter gets quite a large part of the book and also because at some points the author should give some more information and practical step-by-step procedures and tips, like for example in the cylinder head porting chapter where i would like to read more things from such an experienced builder.
If the author decide for the next edition to discard the carburetor chapter and try to extend every chapter with a lot more information and step-by step procedures then certainly this book is going to become an encyclopedia of four stroke engine tuning bringing any other similar book completely out of the game.
- The only reason this book doesnt get 5 stars from me is because Mr. Bell doesnt go as in depth as I would have liked in the street use engines, this book is about more serious race machines than about street motors. What this book does cover however is covered very very well and I am really glad I got this book. the gains on my engine were notable to say the least.
- The information in this book goes above and beyond what most others do.
I have read it twice and am reading it for the third time. I highly recomend it.
- This is definately one of his best. Even if you own the 2nd edition like i do, you will still find this latest edition a must have. Although it has similar contents and lay out as it's predecessor there is alot more info as well as extra topics included giving even better value for money than before.

5 comments about Mike Yager's Corvette Bible.
- This is a good overview book but because it covers all years of Corvette production there isn't enough room for more detail that is necessary. On the other hand it does give a prospective purchaser a place to start.
- I was pleased with the product. It was given as a gift and was a hit with the corvette enthusiast! The product arrived in excellent condition.
- This book was just as advertised; very informative. This will be a great aid in my search for a Corvette.
- Mike Yagers charts are pretty predictab;le and therefore more or less useless. While the photos are nice, someone should have proof read the text (repetions, inaccuracies, etc)
- Mike Yager's "The Corvette Bible" is an excellent reference for those interested in the history and evolution of the Corvette. The photography is top-notch and there's plenty of good information as well, though there are numerous typographical errors in the book. The information given is not always as thorough or complete as some might wish for, but it is an excellent work for those who are just getting into the world of Corvettes and want a basic reference work about this legendary car.

4 comments about Subaru Legacy & Forester 2000 thru 2006: All models (Haynes Repair Manual).
- to tell you the truth, it is quite lacking. important things like how to change the cabin filter were omitted completly. actual pictures on how to change spark plugs and many other reasonable chores on this car were not present. haynes really needs to do some work to get this manual up to par.
- Despite RnB's negative review of this manual, I went ahead and got one and it's fine for what I need. It's up to Haynes normal standard, i.e. some good clear parts, some confusing ones, some good photos and some unclear ones, but there is enough in here to get most jobs done without too much pain. I have used it to work on the cooling system successfully.
By the way, there are 2 pages on spark plug replacement, with photos, and the cabin air filter replacement is covered in the Subaru owners manual, so don't be put off. Subaru's are pretty bullet proof so you shouldn't need this too much, but it's always good to have a manual like this on the workshop shelf.
- Typical Haynes fair. For basic maintenance, this will help you get the job done. Don't expect this to be a factory manual.
This book is identical in content (word for word) to the Chilton manual. Their layout is slightly different. Buy one, but not both. Chilton seems to have larger diagrams, Haynes has more efficient print layout. Take your pick.
- Amazon's performance was trouble free and quite easy, but I certainly wish I would have been notified that my engine, a 6 cylinder, was NOT included in the book. I'll still hold on to it as a reference for other repairs, but I'm pretty erked that my motor is not covered in the book because that's the reason I bought the book. Oh well.
