1. Once again, Fred nails it to the page. He combines the authenticity of character of Elmore Leonard, the word craft of Charles Portis with the wild imagination of Christopher Moore. Is it true he's scripting a movie?



2. If you have read Willard's first book, DOWN ON PONCE, the first coupla chaps might throw you -- this is a bigger, broader book, third person, with more "scope." At first, that can make it seem less intimate. But just go with it for more than 2 chaps (and these are SHORT chaps) and you will be sucked right in. Under all the violence and cynicism (on the part of the characters) and BLACK BLACK HILARIOUS BLACK humor, there is JUST the SWEETEST love story going on -- oh yum. Toe-scrunchingly sweet, causing you to have GREAT BIG YEARNINGS for things to work out okay even though you are essentially reading about bad, bad criminals who do bad, bad things. Everything CONNECTS wonderfully in this book. NOTHING is gratuitous. Is a character spending a page prancing around delightfully in a gun-slinger girl outfit? Pay attention. It'll hook up later. BOTTOM LINE: If you can't love a book that can simultaneously reference Island of the Housewives and Antonin Artaud, there is no love in you.



3. As with Down on Ponce, Fred Willard takes us on a journey through volatile terrain -- the underbelly of Atlanta, those seedy sidewalks, infested flop houses and lunatics dens of what might otherwise be considered a forward thinking city. And he does it with smart biting humor.

   What we have here is a group of criminals and would-be master minds embroiled in a game of one-upmanship that culminates in a slam bang surprising effect. Even Willard's supporting characters create havoc in this ever escalating mayhem and madness. But at the heart of Princess Naughty is a love story that makes you happy to be alive.

   If you want a fun, fast, wild ride of a novel, BUY THIS BOOK.




4. There are no new stories, only variations on previous stories. The cleverness of this book makes it funny and unusual--just what I like. If you like a story with no good guys (like in real life) this book is for you.

1. This book is very helpful for doing anything from rebuilding your engine to changing your headlights. Full of great illistrations and step by step procedures it is a must for any at home Cadillac mechanic.

1. This is a very entertaining account. The author approaches the several vintage Cadillac projects with a realistic budget and everyday technical skills. Toward the end he summarizes a very good rationale for "staying in what he got himself into."
   
   Photos are in both b&w and color. A book like this could inspire you to write your own book as well.



2. As prices on Cadillac V-16s skyrocket out of sight here is a story that will encourage and entertain enthusiasts aspiring to own the supercar of the 1930s.



3. It was interesting to read about the process of finding a car,and all the effort that then goes into finding parts. Being in the old car hobby myself I could understand the work involved and the stick to it attitude necessary to see a project to the end. I was amused when he mentions a time when 25 years slip by while the cars are set aside so he can raise his family and pursue a career. Thats real life.



4. Very disappointing! I had read a review in an automotive mag. and realized it was not a "how to" book, just a fun story. Well it was not even that. The author (from youth) must have had more money than knowledge, because he paid for even the most mundane services all throughout the years that the book covered. Almost entire chapters are filled with an "every breath" description of the simplest of repairs. Too pricy for a boring book. Sorry!



5. the book connects with people who have a genuine, life long passion for old cars, and thier history ... in this case the authors passion for a specific, and very special marque...
   
   I loved the book, but would probably would be of no interest to the guy who just likes to be seen driving a shiny old car ...
